I think diehard console Xbox fans had the worst year in the franchise's history.

Diehard console fans think they had the worst year in Xbox history, but the reality is that these are the sorts of people who actually know jack s**t. Be a fan of a company's games by all means, but don't get hung up on whether owners of another box can play the games you think should be exclusive to your favourite box.

Edit: reading this back, it sounds like I'm directing this at you specifically, which I'm not. I'm directing it at "Xbox fans".

Just one. When I still had Game Pass, my niece was playing Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay. I bought it when I got rid of GP because she was super into it.

@Vordus I have no interest in Veilguard 🤣 Outlaws I may look into in a sale down the line. To be honest, I play very few newly released games nowadays; I've gotten to the point where I'm happy to wait months, if not years, to play something. The only games released in 2024 I can recall playing are Thank Goodness You're Here! (because my wife bought it day one), Helldivers 2 and the free trial of Black Ops 6.

@Vordus I haven't played either, but I feel like Star Wars Outlaws and Dragon Age: The Veilguard will both be remembered and spoken about more fondly as time goes on. Nine times out of ten in gaming, the vocal minority makes things out to be far worse than they actually are, while you hear next to nothing from the majority because they're just playing games and enjoying them.

I never watch it live; if TGA was only about an hour - 90 minutes at a push - then that would gel with my usual evening routine. However, I work in retail and find it difficult enough to deal with the general public on a good day. If I stay up until around 4am the previous night, I will end up chinning someone.

@shoeses wait, does Battletoads really only have local co-op? That's insane. I played through it solo, so just assumed online play was included.

Other outlets gave this game a lower score and I am personally outraged by Pure Xbox's difference in opinion. Boycott this nonsense!!!

In all seriousness, this does look cool. I really enjoyed Shredder's Revenge and Battletoads, so I may give this a look.

@Arcticpandapopz and this is why I've stayed away from any and all extraction shooters. The only thing I've even tried that comes close was venturing into the dark zone in The Division 1 and 2.

@FraserG Ironically, the one person (@Banjo-) who didn't explicitly state that the game was reviewed less than favourably in an effort to get more clicks - and has repeatedly clarified that fact - is the one person who got a heated response about it from @PJOReilly. And it's not the first time he's lashed out at commenters, either.

@Matthewnh there are reasons for that "smaller" size. For example, hard drive manufacturers calculate a megabyte as 1,000 kilobytes, while the binary calculation is 1,024 KB. Different operating systems display storage differently; Windows, for example, uses the binary numbering system, so would display a 500GB hard drive as having less than 500GB storage.

Same as last year, the "time played" is completely wrong. Good work.

I haven't played in a long while as I don't have Game Pass anymore. It's something I'd like to go back to, though. I put a fair bit of time into it and - going by what state it was in last time I played - I'd give it an 8/10.

It was always going to happen; Ubisoft has done it at least twice before. And like @abe_hikura said, the live-service shooter space is oversaturated and it will take a lightning in a bottle situation for a new game to truly take off. Thing is, does Ubisoft try again? I would bet money on it.

@jesse_dylan that'd be nice, but SEGA is probably gearing up to re-release them again - either as a collection or piecemeal - so they wouldn't want us snapping up a load of cheap games when they could just charge us more later down the line.
