Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Favourite Indie Games Of 2022 So Far?

HarmanSmith

I only have tried 3 ones, but As Dusk Falls makes it for me! I loved the art style they choose for this one and the story got me hooked right from the start. A great, great game, I hope more people find it interesting because the devs sure did a great job on that one.

Shredder's Revenge, it is good, I liked it a lot, but I found it a little "lightweight" in the gameplay department (unless I miss something, of course).

I only tried Tunic for a couple of hours. It doesn't look bad, but I wasn't hooked.

Looking forward to play Trek To Yomi and Cult of the Lamb next.

@UltimateOtaku91 I guess so! Strange times we live in, eh?

I am interested in the game. And, hey, like many have said before, this game looks like a classic example of "a perfect indie for Game Pass". I even thought it would be released day on the service (I was confused, of course, neither MS nor Devolver say it would be that way).

@Banjo- Man, I almost agree with you.

I don't know if it's the most overrated (maybe I wouldn't go that far), but everytime I think of BOTW I get a strong sense of discomfort!

I sure see the quality in it, but it just didn't click with me. It felt so obtuse, so "un-Zelda" (even if I respect the effort to try some new ground for the series) that I left it unfinished halfway through.

Of course, I respect everyone who loves BotW so much. But it isn't for me.

Great topic!

In a wider sense, I would love to see more light-hearted art (movies, games, books, etc).

In gaming, I see many, many games that are "trying a little bit too hard" (yes, TLoU, I am looking at you!).

Immortals was a breath of fresh air, even if the humour isn't everybody's cup of tea. But the effort, especially coming from Ubi, was very much welcomed and it showed that the developer still doesn't run out of ideas.

I certainly would love to see a sequel and I hope all the troubles within Ubi do not affect the development of new IP's.

Re: Talking Point: How Would You Compare The New PS Plus To Xbox Game Pass?

HarmanSmith

Mmm...let's see.

For me, right now, it is Game Pass, simply because it has more games I want to play (Dead Space, Fable, etc.).

But I think GP delivers a better "user experience". The UI is better and easy to use, it is constantly telling you about the new games arriving and the ones that are leaving...

Plus+, on the other hand, has started with a confusing UI, and the Premium Tier is a joke. The selection of games is strong, I confess, and there is room for improvement.

If Sony works on it, it can have a very good subscription service, just like MS worked on Game Pass over the years.
