Apple Music has appeared on the Xbox Store, more than two years after the application was found in the Xbox backend by well-known leaker ALumia_Italia. There's been no official announcement from Apple or Microsoft on this as far as we're aware, but it's live and working for Apple Music subscribers.

Apple Music is a subscription-based music service, so there's no free playback option here. If you are a subscriber though, or if you're looking for a new paid music sub, this finally provides an alternative to Spotify on Xbox. Plus, there's a free one-month trial for new members (in the UK at least) if you fancy trying it out.
We haven't tested out the application too thoroughly just yet, but it seems to be going down very well with Apple Music subscribers on Reddit, who are happy to see another music option finally arrive on Xbox.
Here are some Apple Music features, straight from the store page description:
- Stream millions of songs while you game, all ad-free.
- Enjoy music videos on your big screen and check out curated music video playlists.
- Follow along to your favorite songs with time-synced lyrics.
- Create your own playlists or get personalized mixes and top picks based on the music you love in Listen Now.
- Explore all-new stations, featuring dozens of exclusive shows created by the most iconic names in music. Available live or on demand.
- Search for music by lyrics right in the app.
- Enjoy our Music editors’ picks with curated playlists for gaming and more.
- New members get one month free.

You can already do this and have background play for free and no subscription on Spotify.
No Zune music app?
I welcome it. There's a ton of music I like on Apple for streaming that isn't even available on Spotify.
I’ll check this out as I already have AM. This would have been a dream while I was still playing FH5. God the music in that game is awful.
@Fenbops Not just awful but also short, you would be repeating the same music tracks often.
Glad there's more options for 3rd party service integration like this and Discord. Consoles are so like PCs there should be more flexibility for this kind of service.
That said I basically never listen to music while I'm gaming as games will have their own soundtrack and sounds anyway.
Finally 😊 agreed on the fh5 music, it’s plain awful. I used to like the songs on horizon xs a lot, but with every game it has been declining to a point that I can’t stand it and turned it off to play my own playlists. Xs used to be about rock but most of the stuff there now has 0 to do with rock music.
I use Apple Music over other services so I welcome this, but I doubt I'll use it much due to preferring game audio. Hopefully, it is better than the Samsung Smart TV App, which does not find auto-playlists.
Can this be done with you tubs music on xbox
Fantastic news, when wanting to chill out in some games this will make it easier as we have Apple Family subscription thingy.
More choice for the win!
Yesssssss!!!!!
Love it. Now if they just gotta let me use my Powerbeats pro as my headphones w Xbox
Loved this! I use Apple Music since 2019, and I have a lot of albums and playlists there, so it will be good to have them on my Xbox Series X.
Tbh, I prefer Apple Music to Spotify because they where sensible enough to separate the music and the podcasts into two different apps, unlike Spotify.
It really annoys me the constant advertising of podcasts on Spotify, especially since I have never listened ONE single podcast there!
Awesome. Great news.
I wish the Japanese only U-Next streaming app would show up but that'll be a cold day in hell.
Fantastic news and the App seems spot on. I use Apple Music because it allows the uploading of my own stuff (mainly live bootlegs) so this is very welcome.
