@OldGamer999 if Astrobot was a Nintendo game it would be classed as one of the best ever that only Nintendo can magic up. I still think Playroom is one of the best games on PS5, I can’t wait for the new game.

@Kohaku load up Control and switch between 30fps and 60. If you can’t tell a difference I don’t know what to say to you.

60fps should now be the standard. I won’t avoid a game if it’s only 30fps like Hellblade 2 was, but I’ll be disappointed.

@OldGamer999 next gen seems to be 30fps or horrible FSR upscaled image quality in big titles, as well as devs being creatively bankrupt. This generation has been a let down in so many regards.

Disappointing. I think the option for 60 should at least be available. I’m still not sold on this game and this news does nothing to get me interested, quite the opposite.

I think it’s ridiculous. I will never pay £34.99 to play a game 3 days early and get a future DLC or whatever. This shouldn’t be the norm, you’re paying £35 for a season pass essentially, it’s farcical.

@OldGamer999 I don’t think they have a chance in Europe or Japan, Xbox just doesn’t do well in those markets. I can’t see that changing, PC and PlayStation dominate in Europe and Xbox games are coming to both now anyway.

You’re right though, Xbox sales are pretty strong in the US and I’m interested to see if COD on Gamepass leads to increased sales in the UK, or not.

@StylesT I disagree. He’s a part of the machine. If he’s not making decisions then why is he still there? They're way past rolling back this strategy. Time to accept he’s just a part of it, willingly.

These social media graphics are so dull. In the same way that devs release a road map, they don’t interest me or excite me.

@NEStalgia you are correct, it does make less sense for them to release on Xbox. I still wouldn’t rule it out entirely just yet though and I think we’ll see release times fall between PS5 and their ports on PC and Nintendo. Interesting times ahead.

When do the new Gamepass ‘tiers’ kick in? Will this be on the top tier only, then release on the standard tier when it comes out on PS5? Is this how Microsoft gaming are going to operate going forward I wonder.

Do I agree with it? Nah, I think they’re slowly killing off the Xbox brand but at least I’ll only have to buy one console next gen.

Also if I was a PlayStation only guy, I wouldn’t be cheering just yet, once they see how much money there is to be made ditching exclusivity, they’ll follow.

The standard Molyneux negativity is still strong I see. Did he promise things and not deliver on everything? Yes. Did he create some of the most fun games? Yes.

For me the second question is more important and his stuff is still more interesting than the pure drivel the bigger gaming companies release these days.

Another L for Xbox. Same as Baldurs gate 3, the bulk of players are going to buy this on PC and PS5 and when it’s finally released on Xbox they’ll get lessened sales.

Looks better than I expected on PS5, may pick it up.

This isn’t Xbox anymore it’s Microsoft Gaming. This strategy they’re on will make them even richer but will continue to tank their console sales. That’s my prediction.

I see no point in buying another Xbox console at this point. Their first party games are consistently disappointing and they’re full onboard with DEI nonsense. I think I can pass.

It looks better than The Acolyte (😂) but that’s not saying much is it. It just looks like a dull, unoriginal, bland Star Wars game, but again that’s how I view Star Wars now thanks to Disney.

SBI game won’t even play this on Gamepass.

Sony should make a similar Stellar Blade one.

Price rises are expected, the price of everything is out of control. Creating a new tier and locking out day 1 games is much more dubious imo.

I would hope the market will dictate at some point, if the price gets too high people will start dropping off, I don’t think we’re there just yet but it’s highly possibly it’ll happen in the next couple of years. Falling numbers is the only thing that’ll make them react.

Microsoft gaming under uncle Phil just keeps getting better and better. How much longer are people going to keep saying it’s not him and those above him making these decisions and if that was the case, why is he even there?

@JayJ same boat. I hardly play online so didn’t bother renewing PS+ last year and I dropped GP as I really wasn’t using it much. Nintendo online is laughable, they’re a decade behind or more 😂

I did sub to GP for a month to play Hellblade 2, but like I said elsewhere, the games just haven’t been regular enough for me to want to keep it, it works out cheaper just buying titles in sales eventually.

I’m tired. The industry is a mess.

Excellent points. It’ll be interesting to see if COD day one has any meaningful impact on Gamepass subs, that’s the only thing I can see that they have that could potentially make a big increase in numbers.

I think this is dogpoo it goes against what Microsoft themselves have been pushing since they started pushing Gamepass hard.

It also begs the question, if you dont get games ‘day one’ with standard, when do you get them?

I really enjoyed it. Didn’t play on Gamepass I got it on disc and didn’t regret it. I think the game got some unfair criticism because people expected something else but I think what we got was good fun.

The Xbox brand is slowly becoming irrelevant. Microsoft Gaming is going from strength to strength.

They’re done competing with the other consoles in the traditional sense, it’s all about maximising profits however they deem necessary and I think in the long term the Xbox brand will be diluted until it becomes non existent.

The first game is amazing. Anyone who enjoys turn based games should play it and I’ve seen it dirt cheap in sales.

Looking forward to this one.

Completely agree with this, Sony have been successful at capturing that demographic with their huge budget mainstream exclusives like Spiderman and using COD exclusivity (not anymore lol) to get there. PlayStation is the mainstream, the console the casual gamer picks up. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing from Sonys perspective it’s brought them ridiculous success, I just think their output has become predictable and stale.

I agree.

Microsoft’s showing was good, the rest were underwhelming, including Nintendo’s. Metroid prime 4 is interesting but I’ll wait for the switch 2 at this point instead of playing it on a potato.

Astrobot is probably the game I’m most looking forward to this year from any show though.

Not a fan of walking sims, but this one is intriguing me with its setting. Might check it out.

I’ll never go back to the game. It’s too cringe and a repetitive snoozefest. For unexplored space why is the same mining facility on every planet 🤣 dog poo game.

@JayJ When they first show her in the trailer I laughed because it’s become so predictable. Anyone who defends this saying ‘oh you’re just offended by real women’ need to go outside and see what a woman looks like.

What also gets pushed away is that female gamers also enjoying playing as attractive females, this push to ‘represent’ real women is false and isn’t satisfying anybody apart from the 0.01% of the people out there pushing it.

It’s 2024 and most big titles now don’t even have the option to choose male or female in character creation, that’s not progression it’s regression. Why do these same people who push for strong female characters in games also support not being able to choose one.

@GamingFan4Lyf I loved the original Perfect Dark, but as I said in another post somewhere, it was a good time playing 4 player Splitscreen at 15fps with friends, we didn’t care about the story. I can’t even remember the single player campaign even though I’ll have played through it. I’d say the game has probably aged poorly, although I haven’t played it for donkeys, i completely understand why you feel that way.

I’ve always been a little confused as to why they chose to reboot not once, but now twice, as I’ve never seen Joanna as a gaming icon with any sort of interesting personality.

A lot of people liked the trailer. I didn’t really like what was shown. I’ll be fair though, the gameplay just didn’t appeal to me, it seems to have with plenty of others. Pretty game to look at for sure though, apart from the modern woman jaw thing they have going on 🤣

I played this back in the day and remember it being pretty fun but also really janky. Can’t remember if I ever finished it, won’t be visiting again I don’t think.

I absolutely do not want to play as a child in a Gears game.

Knowing who worked on this game and going by the trailer during the Xbox presentation I’ll never play this. Looks like Dragon Age made for and written by teens. Embarrassing.

I dislike ‘roadmaps’. Especially when a dev releases a ‘DLC Roadmap’ of their game before it’s even released but that’s a slightly different matter.

Theres a handful of games I’m looking forward to on Xbox but overall they seem to be trouncing the competition with the sheer volume and variety of the games lined up. Will it sell Xbox consoles is yet to be seen.
