We've been hearing about Xbox's mysterious Hideo Kojima project for donkey's years now, with the game finally getting properly revealed at last year's The Game Awards showcase. Even with that initial trailer now out in the wild, we still have no idea what 'OD' really is - and now Kojima has come out to tell us that it's "a game like no other". Great, thanks for clearing that up, Hideo.
All jokes aside, the famous game dev has spoken to Variety recently, discussing a whole manner of things including his Xbox project. We'll throw the main quote on this topic down below, but be warned, it's typically cryptic from Mr. Kojima.
"I wanted to do something new that wasn’t “Death Stranding,” so I teamed up with Microsoft to create “O.D.” This is a game, but it’s a game like no other. I can’t go into too much detail, and it’s also hard to explain, but it’s a bit risky and a new challenge for me within the realm of games."
Kojima went on to discuss famous film director Jordan Peele's involvement with the game, of 'Get Out', 'Us' and 'Nope' fame. This sounded like a pretty natural coming together for the two creators - Kojima says he explained the concept of the game to Peele, who was subsequently "really interested in it", so the two are now working together on OD. We wish Kojima would provide the same explanation to us!
Earlier this year, the Death Stranding creator also told us that this upcoming Xbox title is "just as different" as any of his past games, so yeah, it sounds like we're in for a bit of a mind-bending adventure when OD finally makes it to market.
Are you still excited for this Kojima project? Tell us your thoughts on it down below.

Id be excited if I had a clue what this game was about it could be crap it could be amazing not bothered till you can explain the game strange game maker guy!
I'm equally excited and concerned.
This is either going to be something really special or incredibly disappointing. At this point, I'm worried it's not going to be an actual game but just an interactive narrative like Heavy Rain.
I fully expect this game to be critically acclaimed for being innovative or artistic but I will be completely bored after about 30 minutes of playing it.
Well has long as I don’t have to round doing parcel delivery 📦 it will be a good start.
Joking aside no expectations for this.
Blah blah blah. Show an actual game instead of waffling on the usual nothings.
Will include horrible combinations of the joypad buttons to perform the most basic of tasks.
The fact that he has to reiterate that it is actually a videogame every time he talks about is a massive red flag for me. Expectations are low for this one.
I have zero interest in this (or any Kojima project) but I am at least willing to wait until we actually see and know a lot more about this project. It would seem to rely Streaming so I also expect it to be an online only game - even if it is a Single Player only.
He certainly has his fans and is probably more well known than his IP's are. Therefore, I think it could be good for MS/Xbox to have a Kojima game on their platform too but I doubt it will be something I'll want to play - but maybe this could be the one 'Kojima' game that does appeal...
All I see is a dumb face simulator.
A regular issue with Xbox showing and telling with no clear answer or set date
Just checkout the steam numbers for hellblade 2 ….. and see if that beautiful game ever made the top played games on Xbox
