Re: 2023 Has Already Treated Us To Multiple GOTY Candidates On Xbox

Chaudy

@FatalBubbles I completely agree, I thought the parry mechanic and the those frustratingly annoying mini rhythm games where you have to hold X and then let ago and hit another button was super annoying. It's a good game but the Gameplay does get frustrating as the game goes on. Still an 8/10.

Re: 2023 Has Already Treated Us To Multiple GOTY Candidates On Xbox

Just finished Hi-Fi Rush a few hours ago. It's a decent game. I've seen that the game is getting a lot of love by the xbox community. Yet I was looking the achievements and only 8% of the players have actually finished it? Very low completion rate for a game that is "goty quality" and one of the "best xbox Exclusives".

Re: Xbox Game Pass In 2023: The Full List Of Everything Announced So Far

Chaudy

@Sebatrox what does that have anything to do with what I was saying? My point was that Exclusives sell console hence why ps5 is selling so well?

What does the monthly active users have anything to do with this? Did you even bother reading the entire article? It says that a lot of this is due to free services such as xbox live on PC. Ability to freely stream some cloud games such as fortnite. Its not a indication of Console sales or subscription numbers.

No idea how anything you've said is relevant to the point I was making about sales of consoles

@Tharsman yeah you're right it's not 2:1 anymore. It's 32 million for PS5 and estimated 20 million for Xbox. Although the numbers for Microsoft are difficult to say because they dont share the data Source: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2023/02/03/its-32-million-ps5-sales-to-how-many-xbox-sales-exactly/amp/

That is your personal preference, its your inner Bethesda fanboy. From a neutral point of view, taking into account Bethesda's last game Fallout 76 and also taking into account Starfields Gameplay showcase from last year. It's pretty insane to say its going to be the most played game of the generation. I mean it could be but can't really say until we get hands on it.

Re: Xbox Game Pass In 2023: The Full List Of Everything Announced So Far

Chaudy

@Tharsman well there's no doubt that gamepass is great and fantastic value for money. I'm not arguing against that, heck I didn't even do that last year when it lacked first party Exclusives. The point I was making was that there is a big quality difference between Sony first party games vs xbox first party games. I mean how many Sony games have won game of the year vs how many have xbox won? Sony Exclusives sell consoles, 11 million God of War Ragnarok sales since launch. Its only been 3 months. Let's not forget ps5 is outselling xbox 2:1.

Having a lot of faith in a game engine is one thing but that doesn't mean the game would be a master piece. Like you said something could go wrong and it normally does with modern games. Whether it's self sabotage or something else. You could say it's unlikely that the game would be bad but going to have to wait and see how it turns out. I hope it's like you say, that we are playing Starfield for many years to come. I know it's a different game but many people made that statement about Halo Infinite and here we are just over 1 year after launch and hardly anyone is playing the game online.

Re: Xbox Game Pass In 2023: The Full List Of Everything Announced So Far

Chaudy

@Tharsman what I mean to say is that its down to personal choices, someone who prefers Playstation first party isn't going to care much about game pass and vice versa, as most people only have 1 console and usually the deriving factor is Exclusives.

Your statement about starfield also doesn't make sense. The game isn't out, we've barely seen anything other than 10 minutes of Gameplay. It has no predecessors, it's a brand new IP, for all we know the game could seriously suck. Yet you're already claiming you're going to be playing it for an entire year over other games. Not sure why youre so convinced that it's going to be your most played games. It could be broken at launch, or just seriously bad. It's too early to make such bold claims. I mean "most played game of the generation"..its not even out, no reviews, no previews, nothing. That's like me saying Hogwarts Legacy will be my most played game of the generation. Can't really make that claim without even playing it once.

Re: Xbox Game Pass In 2023: The Full List Of Everything Announced So Far

Chaudy

@Moonglow well the discussion I was having wasn't about game pass. It was about the better console Exclusives between the PlayStation and Xbox. Which is down to opinion someone who enjoys Uncharted, God of War and Spiderman isn't going to care about Halo, Gears and Forza on gamepass. It's all about perception and your own personal tastes.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Think We'll See Hellblade 2 On Xbox In 2023?

Chaudy

Couldn't care less about Hellblade 2. The first game is one of the worst games I've ever played. It was so boring, I can't think of a more boring game. The combat was not satisfying at all, the puzzles were so lame. It was genuinely terrible. Unless they go a completely different direction and make it more of a hack and slash game with more focus on combat rather then a boring walking Simulator.

Re: Activision Blizzard Thinks Sony's 'The Last Of Us' Can Help Justify The Xbox Acquisition

Chaudy

@themightyant the main issue I had was that the episode didn't really progress the main story forward. I get it's a different perspective to see back stories of characters etc.. but to me the deviation wasn't worth it, also there was a lot of things that didn't make sense. At one hand we see how a certain character is overprotective yet fine to let a stranger in?
of course a lot of people do like the episode, we're always going to get mixed opinions. However I do believe the overall show is still pretty good.

I like to think of this as HBO, doing their usual "hitting the brakes" to their shows where they slow the pace of the series down for filler. True Detective season 1 which is essentially a master piece and one of the greatest shows of all time had this issue where the first 3 episodes had extremely poor pacing and were so slow yet the last 5 episodes were phenomenal.

Filler and pacing issues are common with HBO shows, think Big Little Lies, The Leftovers, Mare of Eastward and The Outsider. All suffer from this. If you see imdb you'll see a decline in Ratings for last of us series due to episode 3. The first 2 episodes are rated above 9 yet episode 3 is now almost at a high 7.

Re: Xbox's Forza Motorsport 'Probably' Delayed Into Second Half Of 2023

Chaudy

Yeah this is certain after the xbox direct "coming 2023". I think Forza and Starfield Will both release in the second half.

But tbh at this point it's fine. They've already released HiFi Rush which the community is loving. Plus Redfall releases in May and looks fantastic. So that's still 4 very promising and potentially high quality first party games. You can also see the Bethesda acquisition paying off, that's 3 games from them this year.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade January's Xbox Developer Direct?

Chaudy

@awp69 calm down man, you always act like you've got a huge investment in Microsoft shares or something. The first 3 games don't appeal to me, all 3 are rpg games. There is a lack of diversity this month around. Obviously an announcement with a nice variety of games would be appreciated. You don't always have to get your machine gun out at every comment even remotely criticising xbox. Go play some games and chill out.
