@Stocksy “At least you can see the logic of what they say. It’ll make their offering better. Greed again.”
Those awful companies just wanting to profit, but in the process investing in better technology and options that will benefit consumers. Just like that terrible Henry Ford, who just wanted to profit but made cars affordable and available for consumers in the process. Or that evil company Apple. All their greed came out in the invention of the IPhone. So what if it revolutionized communication and offered a good that slowly became more available to consumers of all backgrounds. And don’t get me started on Amazon. Nothing but greed there. So what if in the process it gave consumers access to goods in farther places and at cheaper prices than they’d ever experienced before…
Seriously though. I’m not sure if this was your intention, but these kinds of comments come off as “Boo Capitalism!” comments, which are the most ill-thought out comments there are. Most of what has literally made our world a more advanced, connected place was created and spread as a result of large scale investment in the post Industrial era. There are obviously negatives to capital accumulation. But the constant investment by capitalists and businesses for profit motive leads them to only invest in useful and potentially profitable things, which in turn leads to innovation and sale of more goods that serve a beneficial purpose. Same with this case. MS efforts to invest in Cloud, and Nvidias use of the situation to get games on their service, will literally lead to more options and availability of games in more places. That is quite certainly only a positive. But never mind. Boo Capitalism!
#1 Reason why this is a worse outcome for the future: With A-B current business model, numerous IP are buried so that several support studios can make COD and a few other games. This deal was the only chance we had of support studios and IP being freed within A-B to bring back Crash, Tony Hawk and others, due to the gamepass model and monetary support MS would bring. This is sad for us gamers who want to see those IP return and for creative freedom to come back to now-COD support studios.
@YourNameHere I actually love this! By remaining behind Sony, MS will continue to work to gain ground, which means continued investment as long as there is growth (which there is just not as much as Sony). The we get deals like A-B which is great!
@IOI @Chaudy As a massive historic fan of the Halo franchise, if it is time to let it die, then I’m actually okay with that as long as they FINISH Chief’s story. I’m okay with going the route of finishing out this new story in one or two more games, and Chiefs run ending in an epic battle with the Banished and the Endless. Then just go the route of side stories within the Universe.
Basically, let’s end the Chief “saga” in a satisfying way so that I can go back every so often and marathon the saga story, which will have a beginning, middle, and most importantly, END. If Halo is to die, let’s not leave it on a cliffhanger.
@UltimateOtaku91 all that donations mean is that most likely MS talked to this Senator. But is the argument wrong? The 98% is an obvious misrepresentation of the market. But the fact that the JFTC allows Sony to, as market leader, engage in anticompetitive practices, is obvious to anyone paying attention to the info that’s been leaking on these “deals” they make with third parties.
There is both truth and exaggeration here. The 98% comment, pertaining to only Xbox series and ps5, doesn’t reflect the whole market in truth. However, the part where the JFTC allows Sony, as market leader, to engage in monopolistic practices without regulation is most likely fact. The deals to buy rights (at reduced cost due to market position) on third party games for both marketing and exclusivity, and then include preventions for gamepass, or in some cases even coming to Xbox at all, is obvious manipulation of the market from a market leader. That’s about as close to the nineteenth century monopolistic power plays as you can get (thinking about the railroad and oil industries and how they reinforced their dominant position through practes like this but for their own markets).
Now do I think we need to go down the rabbit hole and go after Sony? Eh not entirely. But it sure is nice to see this stuff finally being acknowledged. And now I can start to get excited, as it very well looks like this deal is going to go through.
@jordan1992 I’m not sure if you’re seeing this right. People don’t “hate PlayStation”. They hate (or get extremely annoyed by) the PEOPLE who spout off on these console war related things. I enjoy playing Spider-Man on PC and truly love Uncharted. Ratchet and Clank is one of the best series of all time. Don’t care much for Bloodbourne, God of War, or Last of Us but that’s a preference thing. I may not like some of the practices of Sony lately, but I like their movie division and respect their games.
As a primarily xbox guy though, I get annoyed by the reactions and the crying to announcements like these. It was all the people crying “this isn’t fair!” and “we need to stop this!” And “you are evil if you support this!”, trashing people for saying positive things about the merger (great for gamepass, helps the culture of A-B, potentially brings back dormant IPs under a new model, etc.). I’ll fully admit I’m caught up in this whole thing and totally on one side. It is what it is. But I have nothing against Sony as a company. I have it against the online whiners, and am looking forward to saying “stop crying and deal with it” when the merger completes. People don’t hate companies. We get annoyed by other people.
And before you say the classic “but that happens on both sides!” Yep! it does. But in this story it’s pretty straightforward. The purchase was announced and Xbox gamers everywhere said “awesome! COD on gamepass, restored IPs, and more! Yay”. And PlayStation gamers then took up some sort of vengeful crusade to trash and demean anybody excited about this out of, idk, frustration? Anger? Either way, I was just excited for something, and then got dumped on. So yeah, forgive me if it feels a little good to see those people eat their words a little, especially as all of the hypocritical business practices of Sony have come out.
Looks like we may actually see another Crash, Spyro, and/or Tony Hawk game!!! Yes!!! It’s going to go through! Activision non Cod titles will be saved!
I get it. Physical events are things of the past. But I’m going to miss the epic e3 days when my friends and I would throw a party, game it up, and watch conference after conference, from MS to EA to Ubisoft and Sony, and then Nintendo the next morning. Plus, as artificial as it can be, I liked the energy of the crowds.
What about Compulsions game, State of Decay 3, and Indiana Jones? My personal interest in those is higher than it is for a game like Everwild. I figure Indiana Jones is still a ways since it just started in 2020ish. And I get Fable taking a while because of the resources Forza probably needed. But there’s other games besides Perfect Dark (well documented rumors as to what’s happening there) and Fable.
@themightyant I wouldn’t consider them QTEs. QTEs are literally just simple button presses you have to press “quickly”. These were about rhythm and timing. As a rhythm game lover I actually enjoyed these sections. Probably because they were fairly easy for me. But I do get where they would be annoying to most. I just wouldn’t consider them QTEs so much as rhythm game sequences.
@Friendly what’s interesting about wolverine and Spider-Man is it is pretty much expected those will be exclusive, and nobody bats an eye. But I still see chatter that Indiana Jones better be multiplat or else (even though it literally just started real production after the purchase was announced and only a couple months before it was complete). So if @Gamingfan4Lyf is correct and some people feel justified to complain about Starfield because there was a PS version in the works, then the fact that people have/will complain about Indiana Jones exclusivity has no real justification. To me, Spider-Man and Wolverine show the Sony hypocrisy within complaints about future Bethesda games like Indiana Jones.
@Neverwild clearly you’re not up to date on what’s been happening at Activision lately. Yes we got a new Crash. But in April 2021 it was announced Toys for Bob (who made Crash 4) would now be a support studio for Call of Duty Warzone. Also, Vicaious Visions (who made TH 1+2) was disbanded and folded into Blizzard, along with the rumored TH 3+4 being cancelled. The rumored Spyro game would have been made by Toys for Bob and has been shot down by insiders. So actually my take on Activision is pretty correct. The studios that had been involved in the resurgence of those series were folded into Call of Duty support and Blizzard support. There’s no A-B studio available to make them as they are all support now for the big games. That’s the direction A-B has been heading to sustain COD. As @pip_muzz said, Raven is another example of how non COD Ips have faded recently under Activision.
With MS there’s a chance COD gets spread out and the other studios get freed up to return to projects like Crash and Spyro.
I like how Crash Bandicoot was chosen for this article. Because to me, that’s where my optimism about this deal has been since the beginning. Simply put, under the current A-B model, we’re not getting Crash, Tony Hawk, Spyro, etc. for a long time, if ever. With a MS purchase, there’s hope (with the gamepass model) that we see these titles return.
@Dezzy70 I know what you mean about open world fatigue. With only a couple exceptions I’ve skipped so many big games for several years now that were open world time sinks. Some I’ll go back to eventually, but I’ll only get a game like that periodically now, and only if it seems like an interesting world. That being said, I actually went from having zero interest in this when first shown off, to now a little bit more. I’ll watch reviews and make a decision from there. But I’m hoping it’s enjoyable.
What I’m excited for is the return and/or continuation of Tony Hawk, crash and Spyro. That’s not happening under the current business model of Activision (devoting all resources to COD to sustain their business). That’s the main reason I’m excited for this purchase.
@SplooshDmg my apologies man! I made an assumption that you were from the UK. Teddy is up there as one of my favorite Presidents. I definitely agree that both parties are incompetent and power hungry. That’s why my default in any election is to go to the one that I believe will lead to slightly less direct government authority. Historically I would have loved guys like Kennedy. But today I lean more towards Moderate conservatives.
@SplooshDmg I agree with you and live much the same way in my approach to life. So even though we probably disagree politically, I would imagine we live fairly similarly on a daily basis. I wouldn’t say that US conservatives see saving energy as infuriating. The first National conservation efforts here were by a historically conservative President, Theodore Roosevelt. Conservatives here see modern green politics negatively because of its approach to using unquestioned government authority to decide what energy and resources you are and are not allowed to have. Things like “eliminate all cows by 2030” and “all gas engines by 2025” without providing viable and/or affordable alternatives to allow for adjustment. It’s often government mismanagement and inefficiency that has led to rolling blackouts in various states here. Where I live energy is still fairly cheap because we use natural gas, which there is a tremendous amount of, and I live in a state where private companies compete for your business so they have to get more efficient than their competitors. Essentially, conservatives see the government as incompetent and power hungry at the national level, and feel decisions should be made more at the state and local level on most issues of relevance to the community. My view is to use the resources available to you modestly, and subtly adjust to changes over time. But I definitely feel these are more effectively figured out at the local and state level, rather than national standards under the weight of inefficient and ineffective bureaucracy.
@SplooshDmg this is a sensible approach. I’m from the US and I remember learning about the positives of recycling and conservation as a kid. Controlling your actions and resources in a modest way is sensible. I think most people understand this, including conservatives in the US (contrary to popular belief). This Fox segment is ridiculous and meant for clicks.
The story is in a great place. The gameplay is in a great place. The studio isn’t. Sort things out. Tell an interesting story with the endless and return of Atriox. And properly manage content creation in mp, and Halo will return.
@Would_you_kindly ohh I get you. I do see halo infinite as giving resolution to five though. The last sequence, revealing how Cortana came to realize what she had become, and what needed to happen. That was resolution. But didn’t serve as an obvious and direct sequel to finish the direct story from five for sure.
@Would_you_kindly I was the opposite. I thought the meta story of five was okay. But hated most of the story while playing it. But I felt like infinite had a great story to build from. But I do get it. It’s a preference thing.
@Fenbops the point I agree to a point about the barebones level of design. For me the open world was great, but would have been tremendously better with more epic (Classic Halo style) confrontations that you feared to go near, like Scarabs. Fighting only Banished soldiers with minimal vehicle enemies and no epic vehicles made it feel a little less. But the upgrade in traversal and overall feel still was a good new direction that they can improve on.
I do disagree on the linear missions, but only because the repeating corridor structure is so native to Halo. Pretty much every Halo game has that feel of “this hallway looks the same” but it’s because the Forerunner style was to build structures this way. I did think there were some missions that really stood out to me as unique and memorable, especially the House of Reckoning. That one was intense and kept me on edge my first time through.
What I’m hoping for in the dlc or next entry is this new formula with, as I said, epic vehicle battles in the open world, and to build well on the story with the Weapon, which I thought was a great way to end Cortana’s story and start anew.
@Krzzystuff I’m with you. I agree with others the studio has mismanaged Halo overall. But I’ve really enjoyed Infinite. And I’m really excited about where the story goes from here. Did not have anywhere close to this feeling after 4 and 5.
At this point. An actual Scalebound game would never live up to the expectations that would come after all these years. I think it would have been an interesting and fun game had it followed a typical announce and release cycle.
Halo is my favorite gaming series and has been since I played the original. I tried to give this show a shot, and actually really liked seeing some locations come to life. I liked most of the actors. Just. I thought the story was terrible. Not because it was different than the games. But the Makee thing was weird and off putting. Didn’t like Master Chief going rogue so quick. Just seemed too different character wise from traditional Master Chief, and the reasoning wasn’t satisfying and just spoke to more structural changes in the universe. There were just too many things that, to me, were too off base. And I couldn’t finish it. And I didn’t even get to the infamous Makee Chief scene in the last episode. I was very disappointed.
As long as this goes through awesome! There’s a lot about this deal I’m looking forward to and it’s not all about exclusivity. Gamepass additions are an obvious positive. But more than anything I want resources put back into Spyro, Crash, Tony Hawk, and others. That won’t happen in the current Activision state. I truly believe with the gamepass model MS will bring these series (and new IP potentially?) out of Activision. That’s why I desperately want this ti go through.
As a side note: Anyone else miss the Deathspank series? I loved that series back in the xbla days. Only the second one is backwards compatible which is disappointing.
GWG is obviously low quality, but would I say Xbox has weak perks overall? Absolutely not. October had a weak GWG selection, but amazing gamepass additions. At this point, if you have an Xbox you play, but you’re not on gamepass I don’t know what to tell you.
Point 1: This makes perfect sense. Sony paid for marketing rights. It makes sense they would include a gamepass block in the deal, and why MS would make similar moves with games like Yakuza and Persona.
Point 2: This is exactly why Sonys arguments about ABK have been incredibly hypocritical and why I’m hoping more than ever the deal goes through. MS has never made a legal argument against actions that create exclusivity (purchasing of rights or whole company). They know it’s part of their business, so they expect it to be part of others. Sony is on one hand making exclusivity deals that negatively impact the potential of a game on another platform, but on the other hand arguing that making games exclusive or offering them on a subscription service (Gamepass) is bad for gamers of other platforms and therefore, unfair. This is why Sony is wrong about their whole argument. The point is they BOTH make moves to control games on their platform, but only Sony is making legal complaints when it doesn’t go their way. That’s the hypocrisy. The “MS does this too” argument is weak because MS isn’t making legal arguments against the practice. Only Sony is.
@themightyant but like you said, most are low profile timed exclusives. High on Life might be being treated as high profile but that’s more in reaction to how interesting it seems. It’s not at the same level as FF7R and ROtTR. Stuff like Deaths Door is nice but short lived and not game changing. So my point on that shift in MS strategy I believe still stands because we weren’t getting the high profile third party exclusives on Xbox after ROtTR.
And as far as the “Sony does this so Ms should do it too” it’s a competitive market. Businesses are going to do what they’re going to do. I accept business decisions and just hope decisions are made to benefit me as a consumer. And as far as the Sony “lean”, “mad is an interesting, if not incomplete word. It’s more a reaction to life experience that, over time, I noticed negatively impacted my potential gaming experience. I did own a PS3 alongside a 360 (and I would argue the PS3 had way better games for its time than the PS4 but that’s personal preference. In my opinion, Uncharted > Last of Us. But that’s neither here nor there)
But back to my point, when I was getting into the next gen I only had enough time and money for one system, and Halo was my favorite gaming series, so I went Xbox. Then it seemed like Xbox was never getting enough credit for what they were trying to do, dating back to even the late 360 days (Not Kinect, but games like Gears 3, Halo Reach and 4, etc.). They didn’t help themselves with the XB1 launch on DRM, but even today you can’t just pop in a game and play, you have to have a download. They spoke a lot about TV but arguably had a better launch window lineup than PS4 (especially when you see how Killzone Shadowfall was compared to Xbox exclusive Titanfall). Over time, mere observation noticed that MS’s decisions were scrutinized, whereas Sonys noticeable lack of AAA games in the first two years if the PS4s existence was ignored. Every article was about graphics comparison, not “quality of games” when Sony was lacking in the quality games, but had the better hardware. Then when the late gen came, and MS released XB1X, I all of a sudden saw much less graphical comparison articles and more “quality games” arguments since Sony was finally starting to release their big hitters.
So how did this affect me? Well ROtTR is again, a great example. Any unique Xbox deal got tore apart, and the effect of online narrative and communities (combined with COD exclusive deals) kept Xbox from getting credit and growth from its better decisions under Phil. Who knows? Maybe if people don’t flip out and want Sony to have everything Xbox gets, but fully support Sony forcing obedience from its better gained position (crossplay, cheaper third party deals) maybe I get more to enjoy on my Xbox? Instead, the abnormal slight against MS left them with less opportunity, which yes, did affect me. So “mad” is incomplete. It’s more “noticing a trend” in coverage and narrative that didn’t fully reflect actual efforts, influencing market shifts, that arguably negatively affected me, and I don’t really think positively of that. The last year has been interesting, because for the first time it seems like MS is getting recognition for what it’s done well (Gamepass, Back Compat., etc.) while people are finally calling out Sony for its negative tactics.
@K1LLEGAL I would argue MS have been fighting a narrative disadvantage since even much earlier than 2013. It’s true that the 360 outsold the PS3 (at least prior to the start of the XB1 and PS4 gens, with PS3 passing 360 later). But anyone who actively watched gaming conferences and tracked gaming media then saw the narrative disadvantage. Best example is E3 2010. It was the height of the “motion controller” craze so everyone was showing stupid stuff. Kinect was infamously dumb, but people forget that the Xbox conference that year also showed off Halo Reach, Gears of War 3, and Fable III, even if it turned out bad. Sony showed us a tease of Twisted Metal (ok), a tease of Infamous 2 (probably their best one) and a fifteen minute wonder book segment with a kid playing with the PS Move in a long, boring part of the show. Afterwards, I swore people would see these conferences for what they were, but then I looked, and IGNs online poll had Sony “winning” E3 with well over 50% of the votes compared to Xbox, Nintendo splitting much smaller percentages. And everyone in gaming media was going on and on about how great Sonys show was. I knew then that MS was actually in for rough years ahead because of a clear narrative disadvantage. Then they didn’t do themselves any favors with their XB1 decisions, which made it even worse after 2013.
@themightyant but those of us who had chosen Xbox as our primary platform were getting screwed over by Sonys practices last gen. When it came out that Sony was actively preventing studios from adding crossplay even if they wanted to (or otherwise preventing the game from being offered on PS) and when it came out that Sony was using their market advantage to garner better third party deals, and controlling a large percentage of the games micro transactions, holding the cards with their market advantage to then control what they wanted with third parties, that absolutely hurt gamers. And as a gamer (who I’m guessing) has a PS as their primary console, wasn’t that also a situation of “cut off your nose to spite your face”?
You said nothing was stopping MS from buying up third party exclusives. But in fact there was. It was the mob mentality of the gaming news media. I mentioned this a couple weeks ago. But the infamous Rise of the Tomb Raider situation is a great example. When that was announced, the entire gaming news conglomerate and every online thread overreacted to a crazy extreme. Before that instance, MS had Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, and others as full or timed exclusives. After? I can’t think of one. Because everyone flipped their s*** at the time over something that only a few years later Sony would be famous for (FF7R, SFV and others).
Now if I’m MS and I’m trying to regain some momentum in the market, and I make a deal like Rise of the Tomb Raider timed exclusivity, and then everyone flips out, what am I to do? MS clearly had less leverage in bringing third party deals to their platform, so basically they started doing the only thing they could, buying developers to bring more first party studios in house. Now everyone is flipping out about that.
I bet, if everyone would have been a little more chill about the ROtTR deal, then MS and Sony would now just be trading third party deals at this point. Instead, the media and online gaming community (who have mostly leaned Sony for years anyway) threw such a big fit, I would argue, they in part created this whole situation.
@Solidchief same here. I’m just ready for a he additions to gamepass.
But Jim Ryan will cry about this until it’s done in 8 months or so. He knows he will get a deal where COD is still on PlayStation. He just doesn’t wanna lose the DLC exclusive advantage. They’re super afraid of losing their cut on COD sales and micro transactions.
@JON22 I’ve been playing on a medium level PC and it’s been good so far. But I definitely could see your issue.
Overall I’ve really enjoyed this game. Though I’ll be honest, it’s a time sink if you play full on survival. Which is great for people who love that. For me, playing with God Mode on has still made the exploration and base building a blast. I know I’m lame. I just realized after several hours of dying that I didn’t have that kinda time. But I enjoy the setting and overall experience.
For me there’s a relative limit. I only have so much time so if it’s above 25 hours or so I may not try it if it’s not a “must play”, unless I have nothing else I’m interested in playing. If it’s less, though, I’ll give it a shot if it looks interesting.
@Dezzy70 I agree about the campaign. I overall really enjoyed this one as a base to start from. But this is also with the assumption that further expansions would be coming. The lack of big battles (et. Scarab battles) was noticeable like you said. But I still have hope with this story. It’s a better story to build from than Halo 5, that’s for sure, and in many ways acted as a good reset.
In retrospect, all of this makes the heavy criticism and complaining about Rise of the tomb Raider look ridiculous. Timed exclusive games had been happening for a while, but they were usually funded by MS or Sony to a large degree and were new, experimental IPs (ex. Bioshock, Mass Effect) and so I get why people were shocked at the time with Rise of the Tomb Raider. However look what’s happened since…
Everyone acted like Microsoft was SO evil for that simple timed exclusive. So MS backs down a bit from those. Sony goes straight into buying up a large variety of exclusive content and timed exclusive games (several being sequels to existing multi platform series). And this “death by a thousand cuts” method leads to an even larger gap with Sony on top and a challenging advantage because of things like COD exclusive content, among many others. So… MS does the only thing it can. It can’t get its own timed exclusives at the same level because of the market advantage and power plays from Sony, so it decides to start buying studios. Then when the opportunity comes, they get publishers. Now heavy complaints from both sides.
Just imagine how different everything would be had everybody taken a chill pill about the Rise of the Tomb Raider deal. MS and Sony would have just went back and forth with timed deals, and eventually we would all have things we wanted. Probably not better. But it would be different.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s not about losing COD. It’s about losing the advantages with COD, including all exclusive content and features.
I don’t even care about COD directly. I’m excited to play them in gamepass. But I haven’t played in fifteen years. I’m looking forward to more Tony Hawk, Crash, Spyro, and really anything that comes from freeing up these studios from COD. And that will ABSOLUTELY be good for the gamers.
Sonys argument is weak merely by the fact that they do so many exclusive power plays themselves. Like others have said. The more they say, the worse their argument looks when compared to practice.
Still gonna love this! Never played the campaign as a kid because I only got to play at a friends house. So that will be interesting. Also, the local multiplayer is what made this game fun. Honestly it would feel weird playing with up to three strangers (potentially) in a randomly created match. And even if it was to be friends only, it doesn’t feel right not having your friend next to you to mess with.

Re: US Senator Takes Jab At Sony's '98% Monopoly' Of High-End Games In Japan
Re: Xbox Takes Major Step Towards Activision Blizzard Approval In UK
@jordan1992 I’m not sure if you’re seeing this right. People don’t “hate PlayStation”. They hate (or get extremely annoyed by) the PEOPLE who spout off on these console war related things.
Re: Xbox Takes Major Step Towards Activision Blizzard Approval In UK
Looks like we may actually see another Crash, Spyro, and/or Tony Hawk game!!! Yes!!! It’s going to go through! Activision non Cod titles will be saved!
Re: Sherlock Holmes The Awakened Focuses On New 'Totally Reworked' Storyline This April
I’ve never played a Sherlock Holmes game but I love the books. Any particular games that are great to play?
Re: Microsoft Confirms That Xbox Won't Have An E3 Booth This Year
Re: Rumour: Fable Reboot Is 'Miles Away' While Xbox Focuses On Hellblade 2 And Avowed
Re: Xbox Game Pass Sensation Hi-Fi RUSH Has Already Been Played By Two Million People
@themightyant oh for sure! I was just meaning that one of the complaints was the qte but I just wouldn’t consider them QTEs.
Re: Xbox Game Pass Sensation Hi-Fi RUSH Has Already Been Played By Two Million People
@themightyant I wouldn’t consider them QTEs.
Re: Three Rivals Feel Microsoft's ActiBlizz Deal Would Have 'Negative Impact On Competition'
Re: Analysts Predict Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal Will Close Soon, Despite UK Objections
Re: Analysts Predict Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal Will Close Soon, Despite UK Objections
Re: Review: Hogwarts Legacy - A Harry Potter Fan's Dream, The Best Game In Franchise History
Ok. You convinced me. I’m getting it. Started at zero on the hype meter. But it slowly built up over time. And now I’m ready.
Re: Hogwarts Legacy Release Date, Release Times & Preload Details On Xbox
@Dezzy70 I know what you mean about open world fatigue. With only a couple exceptions I’ve skipped so many big games for several years now that were open world time sinks. Some I’ll go back to eventually, but I’ll only get a game like that periodically now, and only if it seems like an interesting world. That being said, I actually went from having zero interest in this when first shown off, to now a little bit more. I’ll watch reviews and make a decision from there. But I’m hoping it’s enjoyable.
Re: Xbox Boss Still Thinks There's A 'High' Chance Of Activision Blizzard Deal Going Through
What I’m excited for is the return and/or continuation of Tony Hawk, crash and Spyro. That’s not happening under the current business model of Activision (devoting all resources to COD to sustain their business). That’s the main reason I’m excited for this purchase.
Re: Early Impressions Of Xbox's Hi-Fi RUSH Seem To Be Pretty Good
@NEStalgia “ It's like the late 90s gave us a new game and it has 2022 fidelity”
This is a great way to summarize it. I’m about an hour in and I feel like this will be one of my favorite games this year. I’m having such a blast!
Re: FOX News Causes A Stir With Discussion About Xbox And Climate Change
@SplooshDmg truth!
Re: FOX News Causes A Stir With Discussion About Xbox And Climate Change
@SplooshDmg my apologies man! I made an assumption that you were from the UK. Teddy is up there as one of my favorite Presidents. I definitely agree that both parties are incompetent and power hungry. That’s why my default in any election is to go to the one that I believe will lead to slightly less direct government authority. Historically I would have loved guys like Kennedy. But today I lean more towards Moderate conservatives.
Re: FOX News Causes A Stir With Discussion About Xbox And Climate Change
Re: FOX News Causes A Stir With Discussion About Xbox And Climate Change
@SplooshDmg this is a sensible approach. I’m from the US and I remember learning about the positives of recycling and conservation as a kid. Controlling your actions and resources in a modest way is sensible. I think most people understand this, including conservatives in the US (contrary to popular belief). This Fox segment is ridiculous and meant for clicks.
Re: 343 Industries Unveils Official Statement On The Future Of Halo
The story is in a great place. The gameplay is in a great place. The studio isn’t. Sort things out. Tell an interesting story with the endless and return of Atriox. And properly manage content creation in mp, and Halo will return.
Re: Report: 343 Industries 'Hit Hard' By This Week's Job Cuts At Microsoft
@Would_you_kindly ohh I get you. I do see halo infinite as giving resolution to five though. The last sequence, revealing how Cortana came to realize what she had become, and what needed to happen. That was resolution. But didn’t serve as an obvious and direct sequel to finish the direct story from five for sure.
Re: Report: 343 Industries 'Hit Hard' By This Week's Job Cuts At Microsoft
@Would_you_kindly I was the opposite. I thought the meta story of five was okay. But hated most of the story while playing it. But I felt like infinite had a great story to build from. But I do get it. It’s a preference thing.
Re: Report: 343 Industries 'Hit Hard' By This Week's Job Cuts At Microsoft
Re: Report: 343 Industries 'Hit Hard' By This Week's Job Cuts At Microsoft
@Krzzystuff I’m with you. I agree with others the studio has mismanaged Halo overall. But I’ve really enjoyed Infinite. And I’m really excited about where the story goes from here. Did not have anywhere close to this feeling after 4 and 5.
Re: Rumour: A Potential 'Scalebound' Revival Is Being Spoken Of, Again
At this point. An actual Scalebound game would never live up to the expectations that would come after all these years. I think it would have been an interesting and fun game had it followed a typical announce and release cycle.
Re: It Sounds Like Halo Was A Massive Hit For Paramount Plus In 2022
Halo is my favorite gaming series and has been since I played the original.
Re: Report: Microsoft 'Held Meetings' With Sony Last Week To Discuss Activision Blizzard Deal
Re: 2009's 'Top Xbox Live Indie Game' Has Just Been Remastered For Free
This was a great game.
As a side note: Anyone else miss the Deathspank series? I loved that series back in the xbla days. Only the second one is backwards compatible which is disappointing.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With November 2022's Xbox Games With Gold?
GWG is obviously low quality, but would I say Xbox has weak perks overall? Absolutely not. October had a weak GWG selection, but amazing gamepass additions. At this point, if you have an Xbox you play, but you’re not on gamepass I don’t know what to tell you.
Re: Call Of Duty Will Be 'Restricted' On Xbox Game Pass, Confirms Microsoft
Re: UK Authority Sets March 2023 Deadline For Verdict On Xbox ActiBlizz Deal
Re: UK Authority Sets March 2023 Deadline For Verdict On Xbox ActiBlizz Deal
Re: UK Authority Sets March 2023 Deadline For Verdict On Xbox ActiBlizz Deal
Re: UK Authority Sets March 2023 Deadline For Verdict On Xbox ActiBlizz Deal
@Solidchief same here. I’m just ready for a he additions to gamepass.
But Jim Ryan will cry about this until it’s done in 8 months or so. He knows he will get a deal where COD is still on PlayStation. He just doesn’t wanna lose the DLC exclusive advantage. They’re super afraid of losing their cut on COD sales and micro transactions.
Re: Random: Of Course Phil Spencer Has Been Playing Grounded
@JON22 I’ve been playing on a medium level PC and it’s been good so far. But I definitely could see your issue.
Overall I’ve really enjoyed this game. Though I’ll be honest, it’s a time sink if you play full on survival. Which is great for people who love that. For me, playing with God Mode on has still made the exploration and base building a blast. I know I’m lame. I just realized after several hours of dying that I didn’t have that kinda time. But I enjoy the setting and overall experience.
Re: Talking Point: Do You Consider A Game's Length When Browsing Xbox Game Pass?
For me there’s a relative limit. I only have so much time so if it’s above 25 hours or so I may not try it if it’s not a “must play”, unless I have nothing else I’m interested in playing. If it’s less, though, I’ll give it a shot if it looks interesting.
Re: Halo's Joseph Staten Says He Would 'Love To Do Something Like ODST Again'
@Dezzy70 I agree about the campaign. I overall really enjoyed this one as a base to start from. But this is also with the assumption that further expansions would be coming. The lack of big battles (et. Scarab battles) was noticeable like you said. But I still have hope with this story. It’s a better story to build from than Halo 5, that’s for sure, and in many ways acted as a good reset.
Re: Xbox's ActiBlizz Deal Set To Face Further Investigations, Sony Issues Critical Statement
Re: Xbox's ActiBlizz Deal Set To Face Further Investigations, Sony Issues Critical Statement
Re: Xbox Issues Statement About Lack Of Online Multiplayer In GoldenEye 007
Still gonna love this! Never played the campaign as a kid because I only got to play at a friends house. So that will be interesting. Also, the local multiplayer is what made this game fun. Honestly it would feel weird playing with up to three strangers (potentially) in a randomly created match. And even if it was to be friends only, it doesn’t feel right not having your friend next to you to mess with.
Re: Historically Accurate FPS 'Isonzo' Celebrates Its Launch On Xbox
Has anyone tried the other games in this series? Are they any good? What about the difficulty?
