Re: Xbox 360 'Cult Classic' Lollipop Chainsaw Returns This September For Series X|S

__jamiie

@Zochmenos It's not objectively terrible. That's your opinion.

It was popular enough at the time to gain a cult following. It didn't disappear as people have been talking about the game ever since and it was one of the most requested backwards compatible games for Xbox that never made it. The characters have been heavily featured via cosplayers at gaming events ever since its release.

And finally, the game has always sold at a high price on eBay for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Interested In Any Of The New Xbox Series X|S Models?

__jamiie

@OldGamer999 The thing is, Series X is only just starting to just show its potential. The amount that console COULD actually do is staggering.

One of my best friends is a QC tech guy for Asus and he's apparently seen some of the next gen console software from Microsoft. It'll be more a PC than ever. AI huge being able to adapt in real time to improve the graphics, load times and create alternate paths/stories. Open to any hardware manufacturers.

Re: Here's A Look At The Updated Xbox Studios Roadmap For 2024 & Beyond

__jamiie

My mood towards current gen gaming has been in a massive slump recently with Switch winding down and PlayStation showing next to nothing exciting. My PS3 has been reconnected to the TV and I've been having a brilliant time with it.

The Xbox showcase however has massively cheered me up and it's great to see such an amazing lineup appearing this year and next. There's some huge titles that will be day one purchases for me.

Re: New Xbox Showcase Rumour Hints At Plenty Of Surprises This Sunday

It sounds very promising to be honest. I have no issues with games going to PlayStation at some point because I have a Series X and PS5. But it would be nice to see Xbox really go all out to impress their core fan base and give them a reason to stick with them. And possibly entice those people who haven't upgraded from PS4/Xbox One. Especially as Sony's recent showing was so poor.

I love my Xbox because of the UI, controller and backwards compatible games that I still play to this day. I buy all multiplatform games on Xbox because of this. My PlayStation and Switch are pretty much first party machines.

Re: Perfect Dark Rumoured For Xbox Showcase As Positive Feedback Begins Cropping Up

__jamiie

I loved the original and played through the whole thing again recently (Rare Replay). I'm probably one of the few who thought PD Zero was great (but that could be nostalgia on my part)

I have high hopes for this and, ultimately, I just want to see great Xbox games being released. It doesn't bother me in the slightest if they ever go to PS5/6/7.

I prefer the Xbox ecosystem, UI, controller and other features, so I'll be there for as long as they make consoles.

Re: Recent Studio Closures Tied To 'Long Term' Health Of The Business, Claims Xbox President

As others have already mentioned, these decisions had nothing to do with Sarah Bond. She actually looked gutted when trying to give an answer about Tango specifically.

Matt Booty is the person responsible for Xbox studios and he's the one who has questions to answer.

Why were Tango selected when Hi-Fi Rush is a 2023 GOTY contender for a lot of people? 3 million active players at one point and critically acclaimed.

Did Hi-Fi Rush not generate enough actual sales after that? Then don't put it on Game Pass.

Why didn't Microsoft wait to see how well the sales would be a few months after launch on PS5?

Why is Matt Booty genuinely stating that Xbox need more games like Hi-Fi Rush (in his description) immediately after shutting the studio that made that ****ING game????

I'm at an absolute loss but my anger is directed where it should be. Matt Booty.

Re: Tango Gameworks Founder Responds To Xbox Shutting Down Studio

I'm not going to go into how disgusting and poorly made this decision is again.

It does however seem like it was made at the very last minute. With Hi-Fi Rush just releasing on PlayStation and the Redfall update planned at the end of this month, it looks like this was a shock for almost everyone.

Re: It's Been 12 Months Since Xbox Faced A Major Activision Blizzard Crisis

@ShadowofTwilight Microsoft buying a giant publisher shouldn't concern you and they haven't had free reign. They've also been making games well before PlayStation and Xbox even existed so they have credibility in the games industry.

You should however be concerned about companies like Tencent, Amazon, Meta and the Saudi PIF buying things.

Re: Xbox Doubles Down On Highly Ambitious Plans For Next-Gen Hardware

__jamiie

If we're just talking about higher resolution, faster SSD and more teraflops then I doubt many people will be blown away.

I think it would be much more interesting for Microsoft to utilise its massive AI knowledge to do the heavy lifting for developers. It could massively reduce the time and cost it takes to produce a AAA game. Or give indie devs the opportunity of a level playing field in creating large scale projects.

It could even be used to optimise games on the fly or create an infinite number of story branches.

A more far fetched use could be using AI to replicate previous Xbox generations so that all games become backwards compatible.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Expect To See From Microsoft's Update On The Future Of Xbox?

__jamiie

Whatever happens it has been handled really poorly. All these rumours have done is damage the Xbox brand in the mind of gamers. People are asking why they've supported the platform if it's all going to be taken away.

I've had time to think about what 'could' happen.

They announce they're going full third party, are dropping Xbox hardware and PS5/Switch will get Game Pass/full price games available depending on the system capabilities. Or they don't drop hardware and release new digital only hardware (handheld included).

They announce that select first party games will be available for PS5/Switch at full price the same day as they're available on Xbox and PC Game Pass. And the current hardware continues as before.

They announce that all Xbox Studio games will be available to play via Game Pass on PS5/Switch with no option to buy the games outright. And the current hardware continues as before. Or doesn't.

They announce that first party games will be available on PS5/Switch and that they're licensing the Xbox hardware to other manufacturers such as Samsung, LG etc. They'll have their own hardware but new hardware is built as a set top box or into TVs.

They announce that the Xbox store will be open to all platforms and people can buy games digitally for PS5/Switch. They'll keep the hardware as before.

It's DEFINITELY either one of the above or some of the above or none of the above.

I'm looking forward to finding out but as an Xbox gamer from the beginning, I can't see how releasing games on other platforms is the right thing to do to reward loyal fans. However, I completely understand that Xbox is just one division of Microsoft and releasing games on every available system makes perfect business sense and will massively increase profits.

I have all 3 systems and have no special allegiance to Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo's various systems, aside from the memories I have from playing great games on each.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dev Gives His 'Optimistic' Thoughts On Xbox-To-PS5 Rumours

__jamiie

I can only see a negative for Xbox if this is true. If these games are available to buy on PS5 then what incentive is there for anyone to buy an Xbox/Game Pass? In fact, I can see people ditching their Xbox to buy a PlayStation because they'll have the best of both worlds in one system. That in turn gives 3rd party devs less incentive to make games at all for Xbox and even less point in owning one as time goes on.

It's literally a fat tracksuit to becoming a 3rd party publisher.

As much as I love my Switch, it doesn't go after the same customers as PS5/Xbox. Without Xbox as a competitor, Sony can do less, innovate less and charge more. No gamer should be wishing for a one system games industry.
