I can’t say much more on the subject today it’s worn me out 🤣 Just one thing, give us Xboxers 110% reassurance that we are getting a next generation under the tv powerful Xbox home console, maybe 2026 to 2028 They will definitely know if there is one as it will be well into development hardware stage by now.
Yes he mentioned the word console as well, but that could be any consoles even Sony or Nintendo maybe not an Xbox console.
@electrolite77 Well they not giving that signal off very well recently. They also said live on camera PHIL, Indy was an Xbox exclusive, but we all know what happened there PS5.
@StylesT It’s all a bit up in the air at the moment. I really do want another full power home Xbox console, they know all this doubt is around at the moment about this. So why not issue a statement about true future intentions on the home console front, totally 100% reassuring Xbox console fans.
Their message at that minute says nothing about a future Xbox home console, but giving you more reasons each day why not to own one, let alone another next generation Xbox console being a real thing.
@StylesT Totally agree and I’m in the same position as you with both consoles. But really what is the point of buying the next Xbox console if they go full publishing on PlayStation.
I think Microsoft know this and won’t bring out another Xbox home console next generation. They are not stupid they know exactly what they are doing, keeping going with series x for know until full transition to Microsoft games publisher.
@Prestige-worldwide And you believe what they say, with all that has happened recently. And other things they said and changed on. You must be joking my fellow gamer.
I wish they would just come out and tell us with a 100% assurance if they are making a next generation Xbox console under the tv powerful home console, no strings attached. Launching sometime 2026 or 2028 roughly. Because their speech and actions the last few months definitely don’t give me confidence that they will. Also I don’t think they will make a hand held console either, it just all chat.
@Millionski There is also a few on here that now think the next Xbox will not be 2026 or 2027 but now 2028 the same as the PS6, for various reasons, you can read their posts on here.
@Millionski Totally agree with all that you said and it makes sense. BUT, If that’s what Microsoft do with Xbox. BUT, I’m really hope that is what they do and you are correct.
@XBOX045 Yep I have many games on Xbox you could say going back to the original Xbox. But I also have games on the other consoles as well. It’s the price you may have to pay one day, but hopefully not. I go back to when a new consoles meant it was all change like SNES to N64 for example. I’m sort of used to it, if it finally comes to that.
@GeeForce Totally agree on value for money, I have GPU until March 2027. And now Xbox seem to have started getting things in motion game quality wise with COD and then Indy. And if they keep the quality of games up in 2025 with those releases and the better amount in 2025 then GPU is great value.
@Banjo- Additionally no Xbox console mid generation refresh. Ok it’s a small market about 10% of Xbox one sales last time the Xbox one x was.
But it was about being there, the best place to play third party games. The Xbox one x was amazing for me. But where do I go now if I want the very top end console performance, PS5 Pro as I have no Xbox consoles mid generation alternative.
@Banjo- 64 million PS5 30.5 series consoles So about 2:1. The 5:1 comes from more recent months and is sort of partly true. As this year has gone by the monthly sales gap has grown maybe to about 4:1 worldwide, probably because of Xbox sort of going multiple platform and lack of promotions and special deals for Xbox consoles. UK Black Friday had no series x consoles deals. Xbox discless console at £430rrp PS5 discless console £390rrp That is not gonna shift discless series x consoles against the competition.
@Romans12 64 million PS5 30.5 series consoles So about 2:1.

@JokerBoy322 And this is my concern for a future Xbox console. They are themselves Microsoft turning people off and some getting rid of their series x consoles.
Some on here do see this, that Microsoft are diminishing their own smallish existing console base. Until the point Microsoft will have their own answer, there is no point in making another Xbox console.
@Banjo- Well time will tell and I hope you are correct. You are a bit more optimistic than me. Remember I’m talking about a normal under the TV full power home console, with the latest tech more powerful than PS5 Pro.
@Banjo- I mean we UK probably only second to the USA when it comes to buying Xbox consoles and GP etc. But it may need more than that to get Microsoft to invest in another console design, manufacturing and all the PR that goes with it and sub systems and departments.
@Banjo- I’m in no dilemma where I want to go. I want another home Xbox powerful console. I just sort giving reasons why I’m concerned Microsoft may not. But I definitely have my fingers crossed for one.
But whilst all this uncertainty goes on more will leave Xbox and GP I’m sure of it and give less reason for another invest by Microsoft towards another next Xbox.
@Fiendish-Beaver It makes sense what you say about a next Xbox in 2026 to get the lead over PS6. There is a but, I don’t think Microsoft really care about consoles anymore and I would not be at all surprised if they didn’t bother next generation.
Remember as far as we can tell, the console is nowhere near Microsoft’s focus anymore. So why bother getting the jump on PS6 what is the point.
@Banjo- I think the thing for consoles owners only like myself no PC. Is simple, if all Xbox studio games are coming to PS5/6 then why not just own the PS5/6 so only one hardware cost and one eco system.
If you take next generation a console costing say £600, one console to buy that does all Sony, all Xbox and all third party games is a massive saving of £600 at least, instead of buying both Sony and Xbox consoles.
Then their is the little things like less space required, looks more tidy and just a bit more convenient.
That’s the thing most console only owners have in their brain.
@Fiendish-Beaver Totally get you on your dilemma. As you know I’ve been struggling and flip flopping all over the place the last 6 months.
Getting frustrated and even angry about it all. As time goes on though, one thing I have noticed like Phil’s comments no REDLINE games, the signs seem sort to of be there as the time has passed.
Additionally it’s not like Phil and team have gone out their way to reassure us Xboxers about exclusivity or future consoles.
If anything they are very slowing releasing comments the other way towards no exclusives.
@Millionski Yes GP fits into all this sort of ad hoch strategy somewhere I guess. I’m not sure if Microsoft know the exact road map to all this exclusivity or are keeping it under wraps.
Mainly because Xbox console has over 50% of GP subscriptions. And if they lose half or all of that, it won’t be good news for GP, and I think that is Microsoft’s biggest head ache right now in this strategy.
Perfect dark was never a 2025 release. The smart money will be on Fable 2026. As I think Fable would have late 2025 and got eaten up by COD, FIFA and mostly GTA6.
Unfortunately and with a heavy heart, as a day one xboxer from original Xbox, if this is all true then of course Xbox console hardware is a no go for me. Might as well have PS5/6 and Switch 2 and with Xbox going multiplatform, those two consoles cover all the bases for me.
@Millionski I agree with Sony in some sort of limp mode with big first party AAA 1 per year and looking at Xbox studios and GPU. The smart savings is on GPU.
It’s funny how next year so far Xbox studios have 3 AAA for PS5, Doom, Outer worlds 2 and COD and Sony have one, Ghost of Y.
Sounds so weird when you type it like that and see it in reality.
You think they could have plugged the hell out of the Indy game in the UK, With PR, special console and bundle deals, advertising etc. I mean there is always the Indy films on over the Christmas period as well.
That’s what I call some effort in getting your brand promoted and some momentum behind it.
I’m ok with the series x console and games and GPU and what is going multi platform so far. Like games that were originally multi platform like Doom or outer worlds 1. The big but is if they start putting all games across like the original Xbox games. Fable, Halo, gears Forza Horizon then that is the line over stepped and time to surrender the Xbox console.
@TheGameThrifter Totally agree Xbox are in the best position to take Sony on now with all those games and studios and one day be king of the consoles. Instead they wimp out with no fight and back bone.
It’s ok for me with GPU, but I would have totally rather taken the fight to Sony if I was Xbox.
Microsoft are making now effort to really sell consoles in the UK. No series x Black Friday deals about zero PR. They have such an opportunity but letting it pass by.
Did not watch it all live so did not vote. Never been into Outerworlds but that trailer was great for number 2 and looks more my sort of game with more action. So Outerworlds 2 was the game of the show for me and trailer of the show with actual gameplay.

Not really defining what it means to be an Xbox fan.
Xbox fans will have an Xbox console and maybe GPU or GPU on PC for example. Like me.
You are basically just publishing games to other devices and consoles and hope people buy the games. Which is business and ok.
They not really Xbox fans.
