@nathanSF my personal belief is that most outraged ps fans have an xbox, but yes, there are those who own one console out of loyalty and financial circumstances. It's pretty obvious, otherwise console sales would be equally matched.
I own all 3 consoles and love them all. I generally just love gaming. It's a shame there are groups out there who try to contaminate it with negativity
How wonderful does the wandering village look? Also capcoms dinosaur shooter game makes me so excited it's just silly haha, I love dinosaurs. I love mecha. This almost seems close enough. Really excited to play both games. In fact all these games look fun, and make July worth having Gamepass.
That said, where are the gamepass games for this end of month? Did I miss it? I'm busy anyway so I guess it don't matter.
@smoreon RAM upgrade, thanks for that haha, it was bugging me for ages. And I agree with 100% what you said. I really hope the next one captures the essence of perfect dark, while introducing it to new players at the same time. A perfect dark 64 easter egg would be cool too
This is the fire, wait for the moths (Sony cultists)
I gave 10, but honestly I'll be playing it for years and years. I've been waiting for a game like this my whole life. What it's doing already to my autism is pure joy and just absolute medicine
@Solidchief ooooh I forgot, those two games as well. Dam, there's enough in September and October to carry me over to at least half of next year, by which point more gamepass games will be out haha
I wanna play it but have to save my money aside for October. Gonna be an expensive month ahah. Spiderman 2, Alan Wake 2, Alone in the Dark, and I'm pretty sure there's two more I'm missing.
Thank the gaming gods starfield is out on gamepass.
This looks good though, maybe I'll wait for it to go on deal
Does this mean they might close them down or relocate them? Personally I'd have them work on a new project and pay back everyone who brought the game and remove it. Maybe that is a terrible idea though ahah, the language here does sound worrying though. Unless it doesn't haha
@Markatron84 Always loved the term neurodivergents, and what's even more ironic is how we can actually resolve a misunderstanding yet the "normal" humans can't. haha
It's strange how many people are quick to jump on Phil's words and twist them. I think what scares the extreme fan boys is that he's a gamer, and he's also the reason Xbox is doing so well. There have been faults and flaws but from the point he began to the point he's at now, he's done hell of a job. Xbox was going to be killed, this man not only saved it, he got the big wigs on board. That scares those who want Xbox to fail. Look at Starfield, that's because Phil aquired Bethesda, and now the extreme fan boys are seeing that. Personally really like him, even if it's sometimes just PR, nothing wrong with that. He's got Xbox off it's knees, now watch what it can do
@GamingFan4Lyf I agree with your points, thank you. They gave me a kind of different view on it, though I still dislike DF and the reasons I gave, I can understand the pro's to it too now.
@Markatron84 I deleted my comment after misreading. I read you got autism too so I don't need to explain how it's hard sometimes to make sense of words haha.
Playststion has Spiderman 2, wolverine, Naughty dog game, insomniac game, death stranding 2, and loads of GasS games.
Comparing the two is incredible, just look at how much xbox has in the pipes.
I have both consoles and I'm not comparing as a means to start anything, just highlighting the significance of xbox over Playstation. After 3 years, Sony fired all its ammo. Xbox has nukes ready to go haha
I mean, yeah, cool sentiment however it's people like DF who have stirred this whole crap show about frames, literally providing blank ammo to fan boys who try to make a sport out of tech instead of just enjoying the games. Sorry, it's just I have a slight loathing for Digital Foundry, it's weird, and almost obsessive, and sucks the joy out of games.
That's jsut my personal feelings toward it.
I suppose it's good they're defending Starfield, but they shouldn't need to. And I know, it's not just DF's fault, Xbox and Sony both bragged about frame rates and that was stupid. If it was never mentioned, nor made a huge deal of, it wouldn't be the big drama it is today when a game releases at 3OFPS.
I think a game should be played, simple as that. If you like it, great, if you don't, move on to another game, yet there is this inane need for people to rant rave and negate everything about a game they don't like, and then other nasty trolls and fan boys gravitate to it because it resonates with their warped reality and helps them live in the fantasy world they've created, which provides the original whiner with enough likes which provides the dopamine they're lacking from real life to such an extent they actively go out their way to crap on everything their demographic doesn't like, breeding a black hole of negativity and causing huge online arguments that get blown out of scale.
The whole frame rate discussion is tedious and only serves a few who enjoy making a sport out of details, but in reality, if a game is good it's good, and from now on I would love next gen to have 30fps as a norm, so that it can no longer be weaponised by either sides.
If you want real power house peformance, get a PC. But let's face it, consoles are safer, comfier, and have always been mostly 30fps, so it's not like you're really missing out.
Sorry, might have gone off there a bit. My wife says I need to learn to tone things down haha. My brain is wired weird
I remember playing Perfect Dark on the 64, having to buy a graphics card or something, and then being blown away by how awesome it looked, sounded, and played. After being a massive fan of Golden eye, it was a perfect sucessor. The story of Perfect Dark was so out there and crazy it opened my mind to how much more creative games could be. The alien, for a starters, amazed me to the point my eyes watered from not blinking. And of course the co-op was really fun. Stayed up to early hours playing with my older brother.
Perfect Dark on 360 was, in my opinion, though dated now, was awesome. I had endless hours of fun playing with bots. Although, story wise it fell flat for me, that's not to say I didn't have fun, because I did, but I had wished it was more like the first one.
This time around, I'm excited to see how gritty and down on the ground it's gonna look. I suspect a more serious tone will be the direction of the game, yet at the same time, I would LOVE to have that whacky side to it, but fine if not. I understand this will stand a chance at being a Xbox mascot like Halo and Gears, so that would be cool. I kind of want it to be a Metal Gear esq game, wouldn't that be awesome. Either way, I'm excited to see what it turns out to be, and with it being on Gamepass, I don't have to worry about buying it haha
2024, 2025 are gonna be two mega massive years for xbox. I suspect Playstation will have a dry spell in 2024, maybe a few third party exclusives to tie them over. And after 2023 closes, we'll be able to look back and see what a brilliant year it actually turned out to be, with Hi-Fi rush, Age of Empires, Goldeneye, pentiment, starfield, forza and more.
I would like to see Id do Halo. Do an intense cinematic game with the option of playing in 3rd person. Have master chief older, disgraced, and unhinged. Have him stranded and hunted, a kind of Rambo scenario. Make it so his ammo runs out and has to resort using hands to kill his enemies. Make it gory. Yeah
@XsERTzX you deserve a cake. I've been gaming for near on 25 years, I agree with you. Some people make a sport of console sales and tech, as opposed to just enjoying games
@Grumblevolcano same. I was just thinking that. Maybe they're slowing down for some reason, maybe something to do with Activision? Not worried, but a little weirded out.
Xbox seems to be operating at full power. With Phil talking of humble confidence toward 2024 and the huge success of their showcase, it feels they've got the wind at their sails. The doom and gloom bigrade did their best to pressure xbox into folding, but when they've got the kind of games we saw at the showcase, it's all a matter of how they play their hand. I'm very excited.
And let's look it like this, games taking 4 to 6 years to be made would suggest Sony are hitting their dry spell, with many fans hoping they were holding back, I suspect they'll be disappointed. Whereas xbox actually did hold back, given the statement by Phil who said Inexile and Complusion games were ready to show last year but they held off, gotta question what else they held off on. Matt sounded confident on the 4 games a year and I believe it. You could easily have Hellblade, Inexiles game (forgot the name haha) Avowed, and Complusions games in 2024, only to have gears, fable, Id game, etc a year after. On top of Activision games if the deal gets passed. Xbox boasting of being more valuable than the 360 era. The loud minority has almost convinced us that it was all about to die, well, they were probably getting confused with playstation.
Console sales are important and earn bragging rights, yet active users is the lifeblood and gamepass is very much alive and thriving. Also noticed an increase in second hand PS5's in shops recently. Dry spells are death, xbox had it in 2022, luckily gamepass sustained them.
Lina Kahn has mistaken her surname for an actual Kahn. In this case she is a fragile desperate egomaniac of the bizarre shadow left, I call it that because the real left wing folks are rational and open, but the modern era version of the word is far stranger and far more corrupt. I hope MS buries her in court.
By the way, Dreamcast guy made a tweet basically retracting his comments. Also, his YouTube video has 90% positive comments, calling him out. See, when you're entire personality is a brand of negativity aimed at the demographic of fan boys, you got no choice but to negate a thing that even you know is great, problem is, starfield looks so awesome that even the fan boys on his channel could not find grounds to agree with him. In fact, the showcase was simply too good to be widely accepted as anything less. Seems xbox won over a lot of gamers. When the tides change, so will Dreamcast guys content. He's a parasite and a chameleon trying to fan the console wars for views and likes. What a sad man
@Episode_13 I loved the dreamcast, chu chu rocket, Shenmu, just to name two. It had online capabilities and the controller was amazing. I was well gutted when it died.
Backlash by predominately Playstation users and playstation cultists like Dreamcast guy, who ironically names himself after a console Sony helped kill. This is a non issue and only under the magnifying glass of social media where the smallest minority (10k tweets?) Make the loudest noise. I wouldn't even waste time reporting it, personally
That was not an A or a B, but I suspect some will try to make it outvote xbox haha. Not all, some will genuinely like it, but er I doubt the majority will
@themightyant I made the account 2 weeks ago but been reading pure for years. I have autism and wasn't sure if I could cope with interacting with others. My wife helps me understand people's views etc.
I loved the look of avowed but I can see why it won't be for everyone. Then again, no game is ever for everyone haha
@StonyKL I think fable is 2025. If they manage to keep those 2024 dates, 2025 may end up having Gears, Fable, perfect dark. Though I think we can expect one red fall for every 3 great games haha
I keep ignoring the obvious Playstation trolls disguised as xbox fans, but dam they keep crawling out of the woodwork. I suppose the more there are, the more obvious how massive and amazing the showcase was.
Well, I was blown away by how amazing it was, the way it was put together as well, just a barage of games, games, games. And then Starfield, which, honestly took my breath away. I am beyond excited, I really cannot wait, I refuse to wait haha.
Of course, this thread will be invaded by certain agents of negativity and Sony fanboys in disguise, to which I say by all means reply to this comment so I can block you, that way I'll only see the positive folks who actually like Xbox.
I can see how this showcase will make a lot of people envious, and that's great, it's about time Xbox showed itself.
It was so obvious a massive game like this was gonna be 30fps. Its going to be amazing and everyone knows it, and sure, the agents of negativity will try to use this as a fix for their inane need to negate all positive news, but I say just click on ignore. Honestly, everyone should ignore them. Let them talk among themselves as they try to cope with xbox being home to what's going to be one of the best, most legendary games of our time. Let's jot forget Sony tried to buy a year exclusivity.
This game is everything I wanted it to be, and more. Beyond excited
