Re: Phil Spencer: Sony Uses Revenue From Our Games To Reduce Xbox's 'Survival In The Market'

Zoidpilot4

I think what we're going to see a lot of are people who now see the lies and snake skin of Jim Ryan, but can't, or won't, accept it without trying to throw shade at Phil too. It happens in politics all the time, when a dirty secret is unearthed they resort to what-about-ery, and it's simply nonsencial, straw grasping mentality. If you game on Xbox, and I assume those on an Xbox centric site do, then in how on Earth is Phil Spencer bad for Xbox? Starfield on Gamepass. Gamepass. The fact not only is Xbox off it's knees, but the MS heads are all in. And now, he's fighting for us to get COD, Diablo and more on Gamepass. I think, really, those who have a problem with that, probably don't play on Xbox.

Re: Phil Spencer: Sony Uses Revenue From Our Games To Reduce Xbox's 'Survival In The Market'

Zoidpilot4

@BaldBelper78 Maybe. I do wonder that, perhaps, given how Sony has tried to strangle MS, Phil is a neccesity for Xbox survival. So yeah, is Ryan left, and Sony became more fair, then Xbox would have to do the same, and Phil would need to step down....however, these are two big corps and big corps will always compete. It's the nature of the beast, and for that reason, as a owner of all 3 but in preference of my Xbox, I say we need Phil Spencer.

He got Xbox off it's knees. He's the brain child of Gamepass, he's the reason Starfield is on GP day one. It's all a matter of context, right? If you play on Xbox, Phil is great. If you don't, then he's bad for your wallet. Ryan however, he's straight up making problems, though it might be his job, there is no denying the man reeks of a Tory politcian, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up running one day for PM.

In conclusion, for Xbox, Phil is needed, maybe not wanted however. Personally I like him. But outside of my own bias, I understand the issues following Phil, if anything I don't think he's ruthless enough.

Re: Xbox Boss Promises To Keep Call Of Duty On PlayStation (Again)

Zoidpilot4

@Kaloudz they also thought you needed a license to stream games.

Yeah, thar redfall comment hurt my brain. I was expecting the lawyer to get all low key and whisper to Phil "What is xbox?" And Phil be too taken back by his stupidity to answer, so the lawyer picks up a cup from the table and is all like "is this it?"

Re: Xbox Boss Promises To Keep Call Of Duty On PlayStation (Again)

Zoidpilot4

@Kaloudz Jim probably has pictures of them doing a satanic ritual with PS5's strapped to their heads, so probably not ahha.

I do believe FTC went in there with the mindset of punishing MS, only to find its MS that's keeping the wolves at bay. I hope they absorbed what he said, because the lawyer didn't seem to understand anything about gaming, and it's that lack of understanding which has lead them here, held by the hand of Sony. I hope they see now, they've been played.

Re: Xbox Was Worried It Would Lose Starfield Prior To Bethesda Acquisition

Zoidpilot4

Oh they would have, hands down. Also, following the court today, and my word the FTC lawyer is beyond moronic. Judge seems to be getting annoyed with him too. Also the email has been mentioned more than once which is good. But yeah, this is a bad look for FTC, and it's obvious Sony would have taken Starfield.

What's worse is due to Sonys hold, Xbox has to drop to a 80/20 revenue, and is explained acquisitions are cheaper and provide security. Basically Sony doing what they always do, trying to turn Xbox into Dreamcast

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

Zoidpilot4

@DreamlandGem Ah okay, that make sense. Sorry for keep breaking the rules. I genuinly don't mean to, and have deleted the ones that were reported. Also, I delete comments I think might have broken the rules too. I think I'll just ignore those I disagree with, and keep to the subject. Sometimes I like to ask questions but I think they take it the wrong way, etc. Thank you for letting me know

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

Zoidpilot4

@Banjo- I was just thinking, they must report my comments for it to be looked at, right? That's so strange that they can stir the pot and still report people for being passionate about xbox on an xbox site, that's no dig at the admins, they're right to remove my comment if it breaks the rules and I respect that, and they run an amazing site here, it's just annoying because clearly they (the people who may or may not like xbox) are clever with their wording, in a way it doesn't breach rules.

I'll leave it there hahaha. What I will say is that what Jim Ryan said in those Emails should be plastered on every gaming news site, and HAS to be used against his argument, surely. This type of gaslighting and lying is seen all over politics, and it makes me wonder if Ryan is just that, a politcian. Would get along with Rishi and Boris I bet.

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

Zoidpilot4

@Banjo- It's typical moral hypocrisy which is one of the ten flaws in humanity, unfortunately this means when facts are presented, cognitive dissonance and opinion superiority delusion kicks in, making it impossible for them to see the truth. I find it very sad that there are gamers out there who limit themselves to one console, even sadder when they allow themselves to believe what the Internet tells them to. Then you have online influencers who promote negative outrages in order to ascertain a close knit, though fairly large but still a minority, of viewers who will listen and trust everything they say. Creating division, typical human tribalistic behaviour, the us vs them mentality. That's where it turns nasty. And no group is safe from it, gaming included =(

I just wish the truth was more heard. Sony has killed or at least helped kill Sega, and tried to do it to Nintendo. Now they're after xbox.

(To admins, is this a breach of rules? I'm still getting use to the rules etc. I don't want to keep banging the drum but I have autism and still learning what is acceptable and not. Sorry if I have breached any rules again, I'm trying to keep within them)

Re: Sarah Bond: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's Least Popular Feature Is Cloud Gaming

Zoidpilot4

@Martsmall I'm 100% same. Gaming has been a vital part of my life, it helped me get through some of the hardest days of my life. Being autistic as well it helps me escape the loud confusing and rule riddled world haha.

I'll game anywhere on anything, but that said, it's expensive and costly and that can alienate people, so that's why gamepass, I believe, is so important. Will always play gamepass games first

Re: Bethesda's Indiana Jones Game Confirmed As An Xbox Exclusive

Zoidpilot4

@Green-Bandit he also said if xbox took cod away they would be more than okay. That alone should have sunk their argument.

I bet FTC are seeing a different side now, they must be ticked off with that email at least.

If MS wins this court case I hope they go ahead and close the deal regardless of FTC and CMA. Enough is enough now. Ryan trying to do what Sony did to dreamcast cannot be accepted

Re: Sarah Bond: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's Least Popular Feature Is Cloud Gaming

Zoidpilot4

@Artois2 they kind of have to. Have you read what Jim Ryan's email said.

“It is not an exclusivity play at all,” said Ryan. “They’re thinking bigger than that and they have the cash to make moves like this. I’ve spent a fair amount of time with [Phil] Spencer Bobby [Kotick] and I’m pretty sure we will continue to see Call of Duty on PlayStation for years to come.”

That's who they're dealing with.

Re: Sarah Bond: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's Least Popular Feature Is Cloud Gaming

Zoidpilot4

@PSme I would be devastated if PS died. I only recently purchased a PS5 and have always owned a playstation from 1 to 4, now 5. They're the Kings and first place for a reason, without them, xbox would do the same they would do, and that would be terrible.

On a side note, getting a PS5 3 years in, I have a lot of awesome games to play and the fact they're on ps plus =)

Re: Sarah Bond: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's Least Popular Feature Is Cloud Gaming

Zoidpilot4

I'll tell you what I find most tragic about this whole drama, and that's the simple fact one company can buy exclusive games and content and use its dominance as leverage to punish its competitors, the other who is 3rd place, can not.

But also, how there are mobs of "gamers" who would gladly see xbox die, despite that not happening, they come here and say things like "they're looking like Sega", I mean, no, I was playing the dreamcast when Sega died and by no means is xbox even close to that. But the wishing of death on a console while at the same time claiming nintendo don't count, means they're wishing for Playstation to be the only console. Imagine how much power that would give to one brand, and how they would use that to increase price, limit choice, and punish those who can't afford to game.

And lastly, how its effectively sucked the joy out of gaming and illuminated the worst corner of the seeable Internet, its become a beacon for hateful, ignorant, bias, dogmatic, cognitive dissonant bullies and trolls to scream and shout some of the most negative, though clearly infactual, rants I have ever seen. And they rush over onto xbox sites to try convert others into believing their inane hatred. Surely that's nothing short of extremist right?

If we didn't have such immediate access to this kind of communication, I guarantee most PS players wouldn't care, and in fact, more gamers would be gaming. But to make a fight out of something none of us are educated or qualified in, is just typically pointless and only serves as an excuse to argue and bicker and try to dominate each other with their superior opinions.

Gaming is meant to be fun, and brands get exclusives all the time, it happens, either buy both consoles or be happy with what you got. I wonder if whether most of the people who argue this even like gaming anymore, with so much expectancy and demands, is it any wonder they don't find the joy in games anymore.

I hope this whole thing is over quickly. If Microsoft win, they should just close the deal. If they lose, they should buy exclusive rights to Activision. Then everyone can go back to moaning about something else.

Re: Bethesda's Indiana Jones Game Confirmed As An Xbox Exclusive

Zoidpilot4

Also I'm surprised the FTC hasn't quit after that email where Jim Ryan said: “It is not an exclusivity play at all,” said Ryan. “They’re thinking bigger than that and they have the cash to make moves like this. I’ve spent a fair amount of time with [Phil] Spencer Bobby [Kotick] and I’m pretty sure we will continue to see Call of Duty on PlayStation for years to come.”
