After hearing almost nothing on Remedy's Alan Wake sequel for years, the team has delivered lots of new gameplay and information over the last few weeks - and in a new interview with Wccftech, they've revealed a rough runtime for Alan Wake 2's campaign.
The good news here is that the sequel sounds quite a bit lengthier than the 2010 cult classic original. Remedy says that it's looking at "over 20 hours" for the Alan Wake 2 campaign, although the team is keen to stress that that isn't a final number due to ongoing development.
"It depends on your skills, but currently (and the game is not quite done yet because a lot of the content is still going in), we're looking at over 20 hours."
The first game clocked in at around 10 hours without side content and such, so if we're looking at about double that, then, bring it on! Of course, teams tend to be a little generous with these numbers pre-launch, but either way, Alan Wake 2 certainly sounds more expansive than the last game.
If you've missed any of the new Alan Wake 2 content dropped over the last few weeks or so, we'll throw some links to the new trailers and uncut gameplay footage down below.

That's great, I tend to play for double what reviewers tell me the game length is, so this is a big game for me.
I'm really looking forward to this. Remedy tend to do things a little differently, and I appreciate the difference. It looked great in the summer showcases and in the trailers!
Excellent! I can't wait for this - already pre-ordered.
Just bought the original Alan Wake for like 4.99 and have seriously enjoyed playing it. Then started Quantum Break and Control for the first time. Control has become one of my all time favorites. Remedy is incredibly original with their games. Cannot wait to play Alan Wake 2
So, more realistically, this is roughly a 15 hour game, which is honestly the perfect length for me. I was hoping this one would be a nice, cinematic length. I’m hoping more developers understand that a few of us gamers want games to hit that 10-20 hour mark instead of 40+ most of the time.
Looking forward to this. Sounds a nice length.
I loved Alan Wake, and I love Remedy, but I have a feeling this isn't going to be as good of game as previous Remedy games like Control, Alan Wake, and Max Payne.
If only it was getting a disc release
I hope it has easy difficulty settings, but yeah, why do I get twin peaks vibes from this ahah
That's pretty lengthy for a remedy game or a survival horror game. Nearly double all other remedy games and most resident evils. Hopefully they can keep it engaging for its entirety.
I'll play on hardest setting, simply to make it last even longer. Remedy are my favourite developers, their games don't come round anywhere near as often as I'd like though. So it will be savoured. Gonna grab the deluxe edition too. 2 story dlc's included.
