Can you play the game on the discs you buy if internet is cut off completely? I'm legit asking because I don't know much about physical game media at all. Seems like we are reliant on electricity + internet to game so why not just get the digital most-updated copy
I keep trying to outcompete a Starfield playsession with other games, but everything falls short in comparison to running UC Vanguard endgame missions in the beautiful small-galaxy sim Bethesda made.
People don't play games like watching tv shows and streaming movies. Each game requires a learning curve/dedication that most reject and stick to their favs instead. It's basic human behaviour because learning new things is hard
The campaign in 2 was just ok imo. Interaction with the titan, and the environments, were AAAA. But the villain/enemy was so poorly defined, kinda pointless waring. Slow clunking around in mechs also makes for dull gameplay imo, same as MechWarrior games.
You could be right. I'm going to try and get a much value and time out of my Series X as possible, especially churning game pass subs to try new biggies
If they abandoned timed then that's a problem yeah.
It's like Hollywood with time windows of cinemas, then PVOD, then VOD then streaming. It works and offers the product to all persons at all price points/interest-levels over time.
Game Pass cannibalises premium sales, as analysts of the industry attest. So they can't use sales numbers like say CP77 can say 30M units sold, because their sales are trash. Same with AC Shadows on Ubisoft+ sub, their premium sales will be trash. Rebellion took a big recoup chunk of $ from MS for GP add, but they still could have low profit and get the studio closed down. It's smoke and mirrors, you're wholly right.
The world is more beautiful (think Avatar game) and less 'psycho/horror/gore' than Fallout, so that's why it's better. I agree with you, I cannot play Fallout but probably can this, but..
I'm waiting for a hotfix before going back in after 1h of play and 3 audio dropouts.
Yet another F for Game Pass. It's only a matter of time till MS pulls the plug on the experiment that was a Gaming subscription service - way of the dodo it goes. Live-service/forever games win overall.
There is no comparison to forever games in Hollywood where a subscription model kinda works (sometimes). Not many people want to learn new game mechanics over and over (learning curve) with gaming sub games on rotation. You don't have to learn new mechanics to watch a new movie or tv show on a Hollywood sub.
Yeah but it matters if they end up closing more studios because they can't figure out the finances, both to the artists involved and to future games developed for us gamers
They didn't know Xbox One original wouldn't go down well.
I just don't have confidence in MS like you and Kloudz do.
And they are such a big company that MS Gaming division can make major mistakes with a mid-sized group of customers/consumers and still have zero impact to the company overall.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 19-20)
@RaZieLDaNtE
I wanted to like CP77 more than I did:
that's just me, I'm a Starfield more beautiful world guy
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 19-20)
Starfield, it's always Starfield.
I keep trying to outcompete a Starfield playsession with other games, but everything falls short in comparison to running UC Vanguard endgame missions in the beautiful small-galaxy sim Bethesda made.
Re: Atomfall's Xbox Game Pass Launch Has Done 'Really, Really Well' For Microsoft
I churn GP subs to try new 50-400M dollar AAA and AA games, thanks MS.
I churned GP for Atomfall and got my churn refund after not liking it (too horror and not sci-fi enough for me), thanks MS.
Game Pass losing them millions if they went buy only? Not sure
Re: Xbox Adds Multiple New Demos Including One For Star Wars Outlaws
they fixed the gameplay issues with outlaws but the man-woman character is still v.poor to look at for hours
also the whole story is just thieving, not really hero anything, bit dull and pointless
Re: Xbox Spring Sale 2025 Now Live In Full, 1000+ Games Discounted
will Complement Starfield my daily game good
Re: Xbox Spring Sale 2025 Now Live In Full, 1000+ Games Discounted

Re: Phil Spencer Discusses Why Xbox Game Pass Isn't For Everyone These Days
@GADG3Tx87
yeah lol and people don't play games like watching tv/movies
also Netflix only has like 300M subs I think

Re: Talking Point: Do You Expect Xbox To Follow PlayStation With More Console Price Hikes?
More than 2020 -> 2025 US inflation + tariffs, I think so.
I recently paid AU$800 / US$500 for a new Series X for Starfield.
I'm gonna guess US$550 soon.
Re: Bungie's 'Marathon' Gets September Release Date For Xbox, Closed Alpha This Month
@shoeses
Yep, the fallout/assessment thereof is gonna make for some funny youtube gaming industry commenter videos
I look forward to those more than the game lol
Re: Bungie's 'Marathon' Gets September Release Date For Xbox, Closed Alpha This Month
@CallMeDuraSouka
I'm an almost daily Starfield player, one of the few, and ppl on here know me for this, I think. So, I mean winning for my gaming playtime/attention
Re: Talking Point: What Dream Reveal Would You Like To See At The Xbox Games Showcase 2025?
More info on Perfect Dark
Re: Bungie's 'Marathon' Gets September Release Date For Xbox, Closed Alpha This Month
Starfield still winning
Re: Bungie's 'Marathon' Gets September Release Date For Xbox, Closed Alpha This Month
Weird arthouse garbage?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 12-13)
Starfield
It's almost always Starfield for me, roleplaying as UC Vanguard.
Game-of-the-gen for sci-fi/space fans.
Re: Ubisoft Lawyers Say You Can't Complain About Being 'Deceived' By The Crew's Shutdown
We buy licences to modern games. Like Windows software licences.
Licenced games/software are either updated (Starfield) or stagnant (Mirrors Edge Catalyst) or shutdown (the game described herein).
So, Best to use subscription services to get your temp licence always.

The duo was cool but Do you remember why they were at war again? the villian/enemys tale needed more work

Personally, I'd be on the fence re a TF3 campaign

The Holy name of Lord Jesus isn't a cuss word or word for emphasis, bewarned
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom
Re: Xbox Provides First Look At 11 Minutes Of The Outer Worlds 2 Gameplay
Too cartoonified world
prefer to spend the same 10-30h playtime playing Starfield, even just doing Mission Board missions in a better space world
Re: Xbox Spring Sale 2025 'Sneak Preview' Now Live, 400+ Games Discounted
I churn GP (thanks MS) so currently unsubbed so will wait a few days...
Nobody Wants to Die might get it, but could be too gory for me

Too horror for ppl like me

COME ON THE EXPANSE GAME... CHECKING...
Re: Schedule 1 Being 'Investigated' Ahead Of Drug Dealer Simulator's Xbox Release

Strange though because things like GTA are fine, and I'd argue that's worse
Re: Phil Spencer 'Very Excited' About Xbox Handheld Plans For 2025
@GeorgeKal
Oh I didn't know that, that's cool
Re: Phil Spencer 'Very Excited' About Xbox Handheld Plans For 2025
The new Xbox ecosystem is Windows+NextBox+Handhelds+Cloud
They want everyone's 30%.
They are trying to take on Steam.
Re: After The Minecraft Movie's Success, What Other Xbox IP Should Get The Film Treatment?
Starfield
don't think they'll do it
Re: After The Minecraft Movie's Success, What Other Xbox IP Should Get The Film Treatment?
I follow Hollywood from their industry perspective, news/analysis etc., and this is a major upset/surprise in that industry.
Congrats to MS etc. for making something highly liked for kids.
They are calling it a 5-Quadrant Movie, whatever that means, lol.

Aren't the big single player games like Starfield and Indy and Perfect Dark going to still be timed exclusives? Maybe I'm wrong

Timed exclusives is fine.

Re: Xbox Spring Sale Yet To Begin, Two Other Sales Now Live On Console
I have that The Expanse game wishlisted on XB Deals for notification if it's included in the Spring Sale.
Otherwise, I'm just playing Starfield daily(ish) still
Re: Atomfall Is Already A Colossal Success On Xbox Game Pass & Beyond
@YeyoFairy
This is the best strategy but I'm not going to wait as long since I don't have any new stuff I like to play atm
Re: Atomfall Is Already A Colossal Success On Xbox Game Pass & Beyond
@BAMozzy
The whole world defines success as making money so your studio doesn't get shut down because of debts
Rebellion could get shut down even if a lot of people tried their game and they said they did, e.g. Hi-Fi rush
Re: Atomfall Is Already A Colossal Success On Xbox Game Pass & Beyond
@Ricky-Spanish
I'm waiting for hotfix for xbox sound bug.
Audio dropped out/cut off for me 3x in a 1h play session
I recommend you wait also, otherwise game seems fun, but maybe a little too horror for me

Re: Xbox Handheld Seemingly Revealed By ASUS In New Teaser Trailer
@OldGamer999
MS is trying to convert Xbox users to PC Gamers, mark my words.
Then they'll try and convert those Steam PC Gamers to MS Store/PC Game Pass users.
They are trying to dump (not correct) their 3rd-place position in the console market.
Re: Capcom Breaks Another Sales Record Thanks To Monster Hunter Wilds
I'm happy for capcom but I don't play any of their games ever because they aren't xbox one gen+ single-player sci-fi and first-person, or kart racers
