After The Minecraft Movie's Success, What Other Xbox IP Should Get The Film Treatment?

Well, it turns out A Minecraft Movie has been an absolutely massive success. Yesterday, it was reported by CNN that the film had grossed $157 domestically (in the US) to mark the best opening weekend of the year.

There were apparently concerns that the film could struggle when it debuted - after all, the trailers didn't get the best reception and some of the reviews didn't either - but it's ended up surpassing expectations in an apparently "major" way.

"This is the first major over-performance,” Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, told CNN.

Back in late March, Microsoft Gaming CEO and Xbox boss Phil Spencer told Variety that his team was learning from experiences like Minecraft, Halo and Fallout when it comes to the film and TV space, and the intention is to do more.

So, the question is what's next? Halo seems like a no-go at the moment, but we've seen Dave Bautista asking to play the lead in a Gears project, and there's always stuff like The Elder Scrolls, Psychonauts, Crash Bandicoot, Call of Duty, Fable, Sea Of Thieves... the list goes on and on. Could any of those work well as a film or TV series? Probably!

What do you think? What other Xbox IP should get this kind of treatment? Tell us in the comments below!
