Capcom Breaks Another Sales Record Thanks To Monster Hunter Wilds

We talked earlier this month about how Monster Hunter Wilds was off to an "absolutely flying start" on Xbox consoles, and that's still the case as we enter April - with the game now having surpassed 10 million sales across all platforms.

In the process, the game has broken a new company record for "first-month" sales:

"...the fusion of numerous new elements with Monster Hunter’s appeal has generated significant excitement, all of which led to the company first-month sales record of over 10 million units sold."

It's mentioned in today's press release how Monster Hunter Wilds will be getting its first free title update later this week on April 4th, while further updates are planned for the future - including a second title update during the summer.

"The first free Title Update is scheduled for April 4th, which will add a fan-favorite monster as well as the Grand Hub, a new in-game settlement where players can gather and communicate with each other. Going forward, Capcom plans to continue to release updates that will delight players, such as the second Title Update which is scheduled for release in the summer."

In our review of Monster Hunter Wilds here at Pure Xbox, we described it as a featuring "an addictive gameplay loop that always has you looking forward to the next hunt", but warned that the Series S version wasn't the best way to play.

With the game enjoying so much success, and various updates on the way throughout 2025, here's hoping Capcom will be able to fine-tune it as much as possible for the Series S, as well as enhancing it for the Series X!
