Re: Video: Bright Memory: Infinite Continues To Impress In Latest Trailer

@Tharsman I imagine PC. Then again Microsoft have mishandled so much lately it wouldn't surprise me if they unceremoniously accidentally did this as their 1st actual XSX gameplay reveal.

Also a slight correction for the article, the original version of Bright Memory was all done by just one guy. Bright Memory Infinite is basically the remaster and he has access to a development support studio.

Re: Random: Halo Infinite's Demo Is Now Being Recreated In Halo 5: Forge

@Richnj That is part of the biggest issues. Microsoft have been throwing around "12TFLOP" "$500 million budget for Halo" "world's most powerful console" for almost a year and flaunting the near 20% power lead they have over the competition.

Then they show their flagship IP and their supposed next gen killer app on a PC more powerful than the new console. And it not only doesn't look next gen but looks worse than current titles in the series on current gen hardware and PC versions. And THEN compared to the competition's current console, which is about 90% less powerful than next gen Xbox yet produces better visuals in games, let alone what their next console will produce.

As for the gameplay, the gameplay looks slow, bland and boring. It looked sluggish and slow paced in pretty much every way. I really didn't think they could mess it up any worse after Halo 5, but here we are. Halo 5 gameplay looked more fun than this.

@NEStalgia I'm a "go big now, get the most for it long term, before going big again when you "have" to" kinda guy.

I did the same in 2014 when I got my main gaming monitor which still holds up to this day spec wise. In the PC Community we call the yearly upgraders, "gold chain gamers".

I do always look at the tech around before buying something. For example the previous ASUS model was 4k, 144hz g sync and HDR10, but there was no point getting that with my GPU, because most of the time, the display exceeded the GPU. With the new cards being announced September 1st, the €2200 I could've spent on the "not full utilised" previous model, will now get me a properly utilised, BETTER monitor for around the same cost.

The thing for me, is I'll get so much use out of the screens, even if I upgrade when available and then again in 3, 5 7 or 10 years, I'll have got an insane amount of use out of them. (my old 1080p Panasonic plasma from 2007 finally hit end of life burnout last year from use).

Oh, and unlike Nook, I have dates on repayments >_>

Or I send Timmy and Tommy round.

@NEStalgia I have 2 screen upgrades in the works.

An Asus ROG Swift PG32UQX (HDR-1400+ and G-sync Ultimate) for my PC and a Panasonic TX-65HZ2000B for the living room. I'll have to compare both once I get the new consoles because they will both offer something over the other.

IPS with up to 1400nit HDR vs the raw quality of the superior tech on OLED. Since they're both 4k and 120hz (without fake motion on the TV).

Re: The Standard Version Of Control Won't Get A Free Next-Gen Upgrade

Menchi

@Porridge2215 I doubt Control is going to get raytracing on next gen consoles as it uses Nvidia's proprietary RTX rather than an engine based API agnostic version or software raytracing.

I could be wrong, I've been wondering how RTX equipped games will be handled going to next gen consoles. None of them have been confirmed to have raytracing next gen so far.

Re: Halo Infinite Has Been Delayed Until 2021

@Royalblues It's incompetence, plain and simple. Is it the devs themselves? Leadership at the studio? Or the leadership direction from Microsoft themselves? All of the above? It's a failure by someone. Likely someone who has been failing with the company since 2013.
