@Dezzy70 You might want to start using VGTech. DF will explain the tech, but if you want the same or better metrics without DF's garbage opinions, then they got you covered.
@mousieone In a perfect world Xbox games would come to Xbox and PC, Sony games would be Playstation and PC, and Nintendo games would be Nintendo and PC.
@BlueOcean The big problem in X1X/XSS BC in some cases would look like this example. It may not be every game, but it's just something to consider.
Xbox One version: 720p. 900p, 1080p Xbox One X version: Native 4k with high quality textures (be it 4k textures or somewhere still higher than original resolution) Xbox Series S version: 1440p, original 720/900/1080 textures.
X1X enhancements aren't just "higher rendering resolution", there was more to the package than that. Of course it's on a game by game basis and some X1X games were just "native 4k, same quality settings" but it's why I feel a blanket statement doesn't do anything for the argument, be it for or against.
Back on topic though, timed exclusives need to stop, no matter who does them.
It makes you wonder behind the logic of these companies. Sony go for a big name like Final Fantasy. Xbox goes for Yakuza. I enjoy Yakuza but it's far more niche.
After the disaster that was FF7R (which was also the epitome of "CANNOT WAIT" games) on console, I will be waiting for FF16 to go with my RTX5090 or 6090, whatever is current when it comes out in 10 years.
Especially since in the reveal showcase, it already said "also on PC" so 6 months is nothing.
@TheNewButler But at the end of the day it still plays in 30fps on console, which is what you feel and play at. I'm sure there will be more too over time (same with PS5).
@Z3u5000 Never said I believe it, hence the waiting. I don't automatically believe PR like you do or unverified claims on twittee. That's why I was curious.
I'm more curious about the other dev posts making the rounds. That XSS won't be able to play the X1X enhanced versions of Xbox One games. Advanced GPU aside, the XSS has both less ram and slower memory bandwidth than Xbox One X.
Now typically better GPUs use less VRAM when doing the same (or better) on older games but that's because they usually have the same or better memory bus and bandwidth.
@Z3u5000 Oh I assumed it had a next gen optimised version, which is why it was disappointing. Afterall, why show a last gen game, why not show all this next gen superpower.
Since my 550mbps SATA3 SSD loads faster than that (on an overall more powerful CPU/GPU though, so no bottleneck from those).
Can't wait for the new Sabrent Rocket 4 (better than the new EVO overall) with RTX I/O.
@Z3u5000 Something I always see people leave out. Ultra is not the highest setting for Gears 5 on PC. Either way, I look forward to the updates on PC too.
@blinx01 New tech is questionable in this case. It's the proprierary side of it that is driving up the price, 2400mbps PCIE 4.0 drives are not that new.
@BANJO I have about 384gb free on my Xbox One X. But I could easily increase it to about 700gb or more. I keep pretty much anything I COULD be interested installed (it's only BC games and Halo 5). And I only keep so much installed because I'm trying to justify not having only Halo 5 installed.
As @PcTV says, the normal drive price is a little under this, then factor in Xbox branding (remember the terrible 360/One external pocket hdds? Terrible 5400rpm 2.5" drive) and more importantly, proprietary tech, I'd say this is accurate.
Edit: As an extra aside, even though the PS5 uses standardised M.2 NVME drives, the spec on them is very high end so you're talking even more expensive than these Xbox drives despite no playstation branding or proprietary tech. PC drives now exceed the PS5 and you're talking around €500 for 2tb
They did an awful job. Since they literally included it on paperwork from products sold DIRECTLY from themselves. They shouldn't have handled the entire console so poorly.
Oh well, Microsoft mismanagement example #547684385 for next gen.
@Z3u5000 This isn't a pro in playstation's favour, but VRS sucks. I guess it's nice to have the option when you're limited on power (like all 3 consoles) but it looks worse in every case in the few games so far that have it. I call it "dynamic shadow quality" basically since VRS looks worse in every analysed case.
@KelticDevil Because Xbox games come to PC as well. And we play on Xbox Live. The article is specifically asking users if they are getting it. I have a better PC than XSX and will have a VASTLY superior one in 2 weeks. Xbox consoles offer nothing TO ME, so buying one would be a waste of money FOR ME.
Sorry if your brand loyalty hurts your reading comprehension that badly.
I can play every future Xbox game (and all 3rd party games and even some Sony games) better than any of the 3 consoles can. Next gen Xbox consoles are absolutely a waste of money......FOR ME, as was asked by the article.
Halo July presentation turned me off buying either Xbox. My PC is already more powerful than the XSX and with my upcoming upgrade, there is no comparison whatsoever.
I was always on the fence about buying the console because I don't need it, but for other reasons. At this point, it's just a waste of money in my eyes. As for the XSS, it doesn't even exist to me.

Re: Xbox One X Sales Spike On Amazon As Series X Pre-Orders Go Live
@Dezzy70 @themightyant Chances are someone smart enough to make a bot knows better.
Re: Xbox One X Sales Spike On Amazon As Series X Pre-Orders Go Live
Almost certainly due to Microsoft's terrible naming scheme
Re: Poll: Has The Bethesda News Convinced You To Pre-Order An Xbox Series S/X?
@mousieone In a perfect world Xbox games would come to Xbox and PC, Sony games would be Playstation and PC, and Nintendo games would be Nintendo and PC.
But sadly no.
Re: Bethesda's Future Games Could Still Appear On Consoles Other Than Xbox
@carlos82 Probably benefits them to continue getting money from PS5 game sales after the XSS/XSX flops.
Re: Poll: Has The Bethesda News Convinced You To Pre-Order An Xbox Series S/X?
No, they'll still play best on PC, so for me it's no change. Unless they make a big game I want an actual Xbox console exclusive.
Re: Xbox Acquires ZeniMax Media, Parent Company Of Bethesda Softworks
At least with Microsoft owning them, it will still come to PC. Unlike if Sony got them.

Re: Analyst Says Final Fantasy XVI Could Come To 'Other Consoles' After 12 Months
@Friendly Octopath was not a 1 year exclusive.

Re: Retailers Who Open Xbox Pre-Orders Early Will Be Penalized, Says Keighley
Gamestop Ireland should be penalised then, they've been taking preorders on the X and PS5 since late 2019
Re: Next-Gen Xbox Will Prioritise Buttery Smooth Gameplay, Says Microsoft
@TheNewButler But at the end of the day it still plays in 30fps on console, which is what you feel and play at. I'm sure there will be more too over time (same with PS5).
Re: Next-Gen Xbox Will Prioritise Buttery Smooth Gameplay, Says Microsoft
@TheNewButler Frame rate is easily the more important thing. Since it affects actual gameplay.
Re: Next-Gen Xbox Will Prioritise Buttery Smooth Gameplay, Says Microsoft
@InterceptorAlpha The Medium
Re: Next-Gen Xbox Will Prioritise Buttery Smooth Gameplay, Says Microsoft
This rings hollow when there are 30fps games on your console.
Re: Final Fantasy XVI Snapped Up As 'PlayStation Console Exclusive'
@playstation_king Some other games using the same wording are day and date with PC, so it could be day and date.
Like Deathloop. And Ghostwire Tokyo. And Project Atheia or whatever it's called.
Re: Final Fantasy XVI Snapped Up As PlayStation Console Exclusive
Good thing by then I'll have an RTX6090 by the time it releases.
Re: Xbox Series X Isn't Reliant On Massive Launch Exclusives, Says Exec
Easy to say when you have none. They were trumpeting the importance of Halo day one when they had it.
Not that Xbox consoles have any exclusives at all.
Re: Halo 3: ODST Joins The Master Chief Collection On PC Next Week
Can't wait, the collection on PC (Steam) especially Halo 2 and 3, has been great.
Re: Xbox Series S Will Run Xbox One S Versions Of Backwards Compatible Games, With Improvements
@Z3u5000 Cringe. It's ok that you were wrong though. Learn from it and improve going forward instead of copy pasting PR specs.
It clearly doesn't end well.
Just like XSS trying to play X1X enhanced games.
Now, time to play Gears 5 maxed out since the Horde event XP is wild. 120fps maxed out btw. With a higher than Ultra setting on particle effects.
Re: Xbox Series S Will Run Xbox One S Versions Of Backwards Compatible Games, With Improvements
@Z3u5000 Still doesn't run the X1X versions my guy, give it up.
Re: Xbox Series S Won't Hold Back Next-Gen 'In The Slightest', Says Dev
@playstation_king I've noticed many people have told me that about 2 certain people. I haven't run into the 3rd......yet.
Re: Xbox Series S Will Run Xbox One S Versions Of Backwards Compatible Games, With Improvements
@Z3u5000 I enjoy owning the fanboys while I come here for news actually. It just happens naturally while I use facts and logic.
Still doesn't run the X1X version of BC though.
Re: Xbox Series S Won't Hold Back Next-Gen 'In The Slightest', Says Dev
@Nickolaidas And I got called a troll for pointing this out, really tells you who the fanboys are.
Re: Xbox Series S Will Run Xbox One S Versions Of Backwards Compatible Games, With Improvements
@Z3u5000 Big L for you with this news. My condolences.
Re: Xbox Series S Won't Hold Back Next-Gen 'In The Slightest', Says Dev
@BlueOcean Don't worry, it's just the fanboys I'm bashing on for being corporate bootlicking shills. Not the regular gamers.
Re: Xbox Series S Won't Hold Back Next-Gen 'In The Slightest', Says Dev
@Z3u5000 Classic defense force rhetoric. There is no need for a DF comparison of Cyberpunk. My 3090 will play it best. Like all games.

@Z3u5000 Never said I believe it, hence the waiting. I don't automatically believe PR like you do or unverified claims on twittee. That's why I was curious.

Re: Influencers Get Their Hands On The Xbox Series S & X Prototypes
I'd rather see some actual XSS/XSX true gameplay than anything else Microsoft have shown at this point
Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator Will Be 'Just As Amazing' On Xbox As PC
I'll be picking it up in a few weeks when I get my RTX3090. Looking forward to playing the best version of it with that.
Re: Video: This Is How Quickly The Xbox Series S Can Load Games
@Z3u5000 I'd have to go back and check the specifics.
Re: Video: This Is How Quickly The Xbox Series S Can Load Games
@Z3u5000 Kena, not Ratchet
Re: Video: This Is How Quickly The Xbox Series S Can Load Games
I just wonder why not show off some next gen xbox version load times.....
Sony showed a 2 second PS5 game cold boot the other day.
Microsoft show a slower, back compat title.

That's actually a bit disappointing.
Re: Here's Actual Footage Of Gears 5 Running At 120FPS On Xbox Series S
@Z3u5000 Right, but when they posted that info weeks ago, I was always curious why the devs specifically said ultra settings, when ultra is not max.
Re: Here's Actual Footage Of Gears 5 Running At 120FPS On Xbox Series S
@OorWullie I've been playing almost everything for the last 6 years at 120fps, and I hate 60 at this point. It's noticeably slower after coming back.
Re: Here's Actual Footage Of Gears 5 Running At 120FPS On Xbox Series S
@Z3u5000 Something I always see people leave out. Ultra is not the highest setting for Gears 5 on PC. Either way, I look forward to the updates on PC too.

Re: Poll: Which Design Do You Prefer, Xbox Series S Or X?
@Z3u5000 Gonna go with X to doubt. Less shading = lower quality, as we've seen.

@Cyrus29 Were I not a high end PC gamers, Xbox Series X would be my choice. But what you pointed out all makes sense now.

@KelticDevil Apparently not.

@Acksaw At this point it's Microsoft lands their first heavy next gen blow after a flurry from Sony
