It was suggested earlier this week by a PlayStation Access video that Crysis Remastered might have released today, August 21st - but developer Crytek has now revealed that the game will instead launch on Xbox One (and other platforms) next month on September 18th, 2020.
We've included the new trailer above, which gives you a look at some of the new graphical improvements coming to the game, although we're assuming not all of these will apply to Xbox One (such as 8K textures).
However, Crytek has confirmed that the game will impressively feature ray tracing on Xbox One X powered by CRYENGINE’s proprietary software based ray tracing solution.
In Crysis, what begins as a simple rescue mission becomes the battleground of a new war as alien invaders swarm over a North Korean island chain. Armed with a powerful Nanosuit, players can become invisible to stalk enemy patrols, or boost strength to lay waste to vehicles. The Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armor, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight, while a huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style. In the ever-changing environment, adapt tactics and gear to dominate your enemies, in an enormous sandbox world.

Just make Ryse 2 already!!!!
Hoping for a physical release..
@KelticDevil This! Ryse 1 was a solid game that had loads of potential. Not a classic but a very memorable game. A sequel has to be potential to be amazing!
@KelticDevil Still couldn’t believe that graphics and gameplay came such a long time ago.
@Z3u5000 Still one of the best-looking games on Xbox One seven years later.
@FraserG @Z3u5000 @pip_muzz
I agree! We need to start a movement!!
For Sparta!!! ⚔️ 🗡😁
If it looks that good and ray tracing on one x should be a good buy as I like FPS.
And if it does all that on one x and really does shine pay attention, Microsoft’s AAA studios. How come Halo looked so bad. Not you playground games you already have the magic touch.
I am surprised Microsoft didn’t commission them to make a Ryse 2 for series x release day. Only series x. Imagine what could have looked and played like.
@Dezzy70 oh goodness we could do an hour on franchises that Microsoft bailed on lol
@armondo36
Sadly, you are correct.
And how does PlayStation fans get a Knack 2, but Microsoft won’t commission a Ryse 2?!!! C’mon Phil!!!
Does anyone know if this is 30$ or 60$ ?
@BrilliantBill €30 so $30
@KelticDevil
We’ll knack is rubbish really and I think a Sony studio game.
But a Ryse 2 on release day for series x only would have done wonders for the console.
@Dezzy70
I completely agree.
@KelticDevil imagine....Crimson Skies 2, using a modified Flight Simulator engine.....drool
I’ll be buying this on release even though I’ve got the 360 version, it just looks night/day in comparison. Apparently it’s going to be £26.99 which I think is a decent price.
@FraserG Any idea if this will be X enhanced? Would like to know if the game is going to take advantage of the extra power and can the Xbox even do 8K textures or is that exclusive to PC?
The ray-tracing is supposedly only available on the PS4 Pro according to Pushsquare, if they are right then only the Xbox One X will be able to do ray-tracing.
Will they release a Series X version/patch?
@armondo36
Yea that would be awesome too! If Microsoft buys Asobo, that would be a great project for them to work on.
For those interested I still recommend the gog version over the console ones. This is confirmed to be missing the Ascension level where you fly around towards the end of the game. PC versions are complete and have that level whilst this doesn't. For those who are able to buy on PC I highly recommend that option as this port is certainly NOT the complete game.
@pip_muzz IMO the improved graphics plus the fact it is probably more optimised for modern CPUs makes it worthwhile. Ascension is also probably the worst level in that game anyway.
The upgrade shown in the video is better than I expected. I wonder if there will be a patch specifically for Series X.
@MaccaMUFC It looks like it will be Xbox One X Enhanced (the Microsoft Store leak a few months ago suggested it ran at 4K).
