Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 26th)

I’ve been playing Fallout 4 but I’m not sure how long I will play it. It hasn’t grabbed me like The Outer Worlds did with it’s over the top characters, humor, interesting and colorful world. I feel like there’s a story here but I’m just plodding along waiting to see if something develops.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Reaction: This Year's Shaky E3 Was Held Up By Xbox And Nintendo

Mamabear

So you mean Xbox saved E3? I’ve always loved Nintendo (only in the past year and a half grown to love Xbox) but that was a horrible E3. I will say that Metroid game looks pretty cool and I suppose it may scratch the itch until Metroid 4 comes out. As for Breath of the Wild 2… I love Zelda but I’m dubious that I will see that game until 2023.

I’ve finished up Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I hope there’s a new Tomb Raider game in the works soon because I really enjoyed the reboot trilogy. I did end up buying the old games in a sale some time ago so I might try them out and see how they stand for me. I just started playing Little Nightmares since I wanted something smaller before I jump into another larger game- maybe Fallout 4 since I started it for that extra MS Rewards last month and was intrigued.
Anyway enjoy the weekend everyone and here’s hoping for some cool news this weekend and Tuesday ( Nintendo Direct!).

I finished up Alan Wake the other day and haven’t started a new game yet. I was thinking Mafia 3, Immortal Fenyx Rising, or Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Hmm...
On a side note I managed to give the It Takes Two demo a try and am surprised to say it’s quite great.. I will probably buy it if I can get my wife to commit to playing with me.

I’m still chugging along in Journey to the Savage Planet. I initially started it thinking it wouldn’t be a long experience but that seems to be incorrect for me. I’ve finally entered the spire and I think I’m at the last boss. However I still have so many upgrades/ collectibles that I haven’t come across so I’ll be continuing on with this.
I also am going to pick up my new copy of Pokémon Snap today!

Well while I was figuring out my cheapest option to buy Journey to the Savage Planet I started playing Knights and Bikes- which I am almost done with! It’s actually pretty cute and much better in a single player mode than I expected since the AI is good. I also have a few things to do for rewards so I’ll be giving Minecraft Dungeons a bit of time and probably start Halo 3.. I think I really have too many gamesI want to play right now 😁
I will also have to check out PAC Man 99 on Switch at some point because it sounds awesome!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Buying In The Xbox Spring Sale 2021?

Mamabear

I picked up Journey to the Savage Planet and the dlc since I didn’t get to finish before it left GP. Pretty sad to see Overcooked AYCE was at a larger discount than when I bought it 3 days before the sale.. I have my eye on a few more things but I don’t know if I’ll bite since I’ve got some Switch preorders to get.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 27th)

I’ll be putting some more time into Journey to the Savage Planet before it leaves GP. I’m not too sure about it but I’m going to give it some more time.

I did buy Overcooked All You Can Eat on a whim yesterday 😅 Even though I’ve purchased the games before - more than once I might add. I just love it and am curious about the upgrades/ changes they’ve made as well as the dlc only available in this new package ( ridiculous but I’m seeing it worked on me).

Also still working through Cat Mario collecting the last few character stamps. We’ve gotten character completions on all the regular levels just need to work on the unlocked harder levels.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 20th)

I’m going to work on finishing up Max and the Cursed Brotherhood. I’m getting close- I just found the brother. I’m enjoying my play through immensely. After I finish up with that I’ll be starting Journey to the Savage Planet- hopefully I can finish that up before it leaves GP.
Also the odd bit of time playing Cat Mario- just unlocked Crown World!

Re: The Outer Worlds Receives 60FPS Upgrade For Xbox Series X

Mamabear

@KilloWertz Agreed - about the back to back loading screens. I wish it had been planned better or done a little differently. Those instances where you essentially had double loading screens were terrible- never mind any times you go through a door like that on accident.

Re: Surprise! Undertale Is Coming To Xbox Game Pass Tomorrow

Mamabear

This game is ridiculously overhyped IMO. I think the characters themselves are great but if I read about what a treat this game is... I still shudder thinking about playing the final boss on my Pacifist run when I forced myself to finish the game to see if there was something I was missing with all the hype. Needless to say the one play through was more than enough for me.

Re: The Outer Worlds Receives 60FPS Upgrade For Xbox Series X

Mamabear

@KilloWertz Those load times were something else! I would hazard a guess that a substantial amount of my playtime was loading screens. I thought they showed that this game had drastically reduced loading times just playing on Series X when they were showing off the console. I haven’t tried it out myself yet but I thought about jumping back in for the dlcs.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 6th)

Mamabear

I finished up Star Wars Fallen Order yesterday.. Good game and would recommend it to someone who likes Star Wars or adventure games. Also at the price of being included in Gamepass it’s hard not to justify trying it out at the very least. I have some chests/ unexplored areas but I really thought that once I beat the game some sort of fast travel would be unlocked which was not the case. I definitely think it’s a missed opportunity since some of the areas are quite large and getting there AND back to the ship is tedious especially since every heal resets all the enemies.

So now I’m going to decide my next game.. I picked up Immortal Fenyx Rising gold edition- traded in my Rewards points and being on sale I spent $25. I may start that, Mafia 3, or maybe Okami.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Another Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (March 16)

Mamabear

@StonyKL @Insightful when I first started Jedi Fallen Order I was pretty underwhelmed- the game was beautiful, the Star Wars universe was well crafted, and the inklings of a story were there but I had a hard time with the combat and it was frustrating to keep losing without a clear idea as to why or how to get better. So for me the combat system was pulling the whole experience down. I started on “normal mode” and was able to get through a little but decided to try a lower difficulty to at least try to get the flow of combat down. That made all the difference for me- I could get a grasp on the combat, each hit was not so punishing, and I was actually able to get some experience points to start getting skills which are so necessary to do well in combat. Also without that added frustration I was able to enjoy the story/ everything else more. I did end up going back up in difficulty once everything else was going more smoothly and it’s still difficult but more manageable.

Re: Another Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (March 16)

Mamabear

@StonyKL It does suck when things leave GP. It’s hard to plan what games to play when if you’re using a service like GP that shuffles games fairly regularly. I’d say a good idea is to keep in mind most games might stay a year (if it’s not a Xbox exclusive) some games like GTA5 were on for maybe 2 months. I don’t think I’ve seen a game come back to GP once it’s left ( I’ve been a subscriber for about a year and a half).
