Re: Guide: How To Share All Of Your Xbox Games With A Friend For Free

Mamabear

This is the same as game sharing on Nintendo Switch for those interested. Like @Tharsman said it’s great unless your internet isn’t working then you can’t play. I know on my Switch I have eShop under password- can you do that with Xbox? That way you don’t have to worry about your account buying something that you don’t want to buy?

I’ve very briefly tried Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 and am liking it more than I expected so far- I’ll be trying a few more races for sure!
I’ve got the Outriders demo downloading so I’ll be giving that a try.
Also still playing through Star Wars Fallen Jedi which is just phenomenal ( after I changed my difficulty level 😅). The game is stunning and engaging.

I finished up with Maneater- fun!

I tried Carto and after almost 3 hours realized it’s just not for me- I just found the puzzles to be cryptic and obscure. Having to look up what I’m supposed to be doing all the time is frustrating to me so I just pulled the plug.

I started playing Star Wars Fallen Jedi which is simply stunning looking. I haven’t played enough to get a real sense of the rest of the game except it kind of reminds me of Tomb Raider for some reason. I’ll be continuing with this this weekend.

I also started playing Human Fall Flat because of the rewards quest.. and I’m still playing it 😁.

I’m also playing Cat Mario on Switch- trying to play it with my 6 year old but there’s a definite difficulty increase after the first world set and she’s always bubbled. Every night I have to go back and get all the stars/stamps and try to stockpile some lives. 😅

I finished up The Medium this past week and it was an interesting experience. Overall I liked the story. I’m not a fan of horror so for me this game was just creepy enough where I refused to play at night for fear of a Maw dream. The setting was beautiful, looked fantastic (except some technical issues towards the end- mainly weird spots in display ). There were maybe 2 collectibles I missed and I was being very thorough so I missed 2 collection achievements but I don’t think I’ll be revisiting it again. I would be interested in a spin-off/ sequel 😁.
I’ll be continuing Maneater - while still fun I’m almost 70% through the story mode and finding it getting pretty repetitive in that the missions are the same in each area.
I think I’m going to start a new game to play alongside Maneater- I’m thinking Carto on Gamepass

I’ve been doing some work lately on my backlog. I finished Call of the Sea, which really picked up for me mid 3rd chapter and turned out to be quite interesting. I also played through Donut Country which was absolutely delightful- highly recommend! I also tried to play Blacksad on my new Xbox but that game is a mess and I had to stop which was disappointing. Now I’ve got Maneater and The Medium going and they are both good so far but I’m not too far in them. The Medium is simply gorgeous ( getting to Niwa). There’s something super satisfying about being being a super destructive shark..

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Jan 30th)

Mamabear

I’ve started playing Call Of the Sea on my new Series X! It’s okay so far - I’m on chapter 3 now so I’ll see how it goes.

I had to take a break from Mafia 2. I ended up finishing Joe’s Adventure dlc and started playing The Betrayal of Jimmy dlc and saw that it is essentially the same thing as the last dlc! I’m not sure who this Jimmy is either 😂.. maybe I missed something in the story mode. I thought it was a weird choice to have no achievements for Jimmy’s Betrayal but then have some for Jimmy’s Vendetta also. So coupling no achievements and a lack of interest/ knowledge of Jimmy I will probably skip that part of the dlc. I may well just be done with it because I don’t know if I can make myself do the same missions for the last dlc despite there being achievements. I’m not sure how anyone played Mafia 2 when it came out - I had so many performance issues playing on my One S. Playing on the new Series X was amazing and it’s crazy to think that the game now plays how developers (probably) dreamed after 11 years and many beefed up consoles.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Jan 9th)

I’m continuing my Mafia 2 DE adventure. I just finished chapter 14 on hard ( that warehouse battle was the thing of nightmares!) I’m trying to be open minded about how the story is going but with one chapter left I’m left feeling that this installment is nowhere near as good as Mafia DE. I suppose I shall see soon how this story plays out. I foresee myself playing this game a bit more since I accidentally discovered a Wanted poster and I have some dlc to try and hopefully some achievements to nab.
I just finished Gris this week on Switch and it was a great little game. I loved the art style and the music. Since it was short the gameplay didn’t get repetitive. So I might start another short game on Switch and take care of some backlog.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Gaming Resolutions For 2021?

Mamabear

My gaming goals? Umm.. Enjoy some fantastic games of course! My backlog just keeps growing ( I can’t pass up a good sale it seems 😅) So my goal would be to try to focus on the games I already own rather than buy new games at full price. Except the new Harry Potter game.. that will be mine upon release.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Jan 2nd)

Mamabear

I’m continuing my life of crime with Mafia 2.. I don’t know if there were a bunch of quality of life improvements in the Mafia DE but some of the buttons/ mechanics are tripping me up. I’m only in chapter 4 so far so I imagine I will eventually get it lol.
I’ve also got Gris going on the Switch front- it’s beautiful so far!
Have a great weekend!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Dec 12th)

Mamabear

I’m still working through Mafia DE. I have two more achievements- find all the mystery foxes ( I’m getting close!) and beat the game on classic. I tried replaying the chapter with the race on classic mode and I can’t even get the tampered race car back to the garage in the time limit 😅.. So I don’t know if I’ll be getting that achievement anytime soon. I think I’ll start up Mafia 2 afterwards though- I’m hooked.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Dec 5th)

Mamabear

I surprised myself by picking up the Mafia Trilogy during Black Friday and I’ve been playing Mafia DE nonstop. The story and voice acting are just fantastically done. I ended up snagging a few other deals but I don’t see myself playing any just yet. Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Poll: Two Weeks On, Are You Happy With Your Xbox Series X|S?

Mamabear

@evan23 @Dezzy70 I had an issue like that with the first one s I bought... the Xbox would power on but the hdmi output wouldn’t work properly. I ended up having to take it to the Microsoft store where they gave me a new unit and said the hard drive was faulty (I started having more issues). Sucked because I’d only had it for barely over a. month.

Re: Deals: All 15+ Xbox Series X Games In The Xbox Black Friday Sale 2020

Mamabear

You can snag Watchdogs Legion for $30-$35 at a number of places during Black Friday (in US) for those interested in a physical copy. Also I just picked up Maneater for $12 from Best Buy 😃. I think I may pick up Control again... I was looking to buy the dlc and this makes a nice deal for once I get my hands on the Series X.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Nov 14th)

Since finishing up The Avengers I started to go through games on my hard drive - I’ve been stuck in The Messenger since. Seriously great game on Gamepass. So I’m going to continue playing that gem while hopefully putting some time into Pikmin 3 on Switch.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Nov 7th)

Mamabear

I just finished up The Avengers campaign- it was pretty cool. The story is awesome but I thought the fighting and character moves could be tweaked a little. I found some move sets to be a little too similar for my liking. Overall a lot of fun though! If you’re interested I would recommend waiting for the Series X upgrade or something as there were definitely some performance hiccups (mostly towards the end of the campaign) playing on my One S. I can’t say it ruined my experience but definitely noticed it and had to restart from a checkpoint towards the end when there was a lot going on- glad it wasn’t during the last boss sequence at least!
So now I’m having to decide what to play- I might try Spiritfarer on Gamepass or something else that’s on the short side. I’m getting excited for this upcoming Tuesday and hopefully I can manage to snag a Series X on launch since preorder was a bust for me.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I’ve been obsessed with Rocket League! I first started playing on Switch when it released but quit playing and now I’ve been playing it on Xbox again. I tried the Switch version again the other day and was surprised at the difference in the experiences- I won’t be going back lol😁
