Re: Another Six Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (February 15)

Mamabear

I’ll be giving The Falconeer a try then. If I have time I may look into Project Winter. I think Control would be a squeeze if you haven’t started it but I’ve seen that game get ridiculous cheap lately if anyone was wanting to get it. The Medium was a cool experience and one you can definitely play before it leaves GP.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 11-12)

I’m trying to get in a few games before they leave GP. I’ve finished up Unto the End( the end battle- Ridiculous!) and am currently playing Wilmot’s Warehouse and Yooka Laylee Impossible Lair.

I have to admit YL is much more fun than I thought. I tried the first one but didn’t care for the 3d platforming so I wasn’t in any hurry to try the sequel which is a real shame because the 2d platforming is fantastic. I’m trying but I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish it before it leaves so I will probably end up buying it. It reminds me of playing Donkey Kong back on Super Nintendo.

Ive been giving Wilmot’s some attention too it’s okay but is basically the same thing over and over- organize warehouse and fetch requested things. Organizing is hard because I don’t know what all the items are so I have to guess/ make up categories. I’m sure there’s a huge deviation between what I call the things and what they’re supposed to be 😂. There’s no way I’ll be able to beat it before it leaves especially with playing YL. I like the idea of it it’s just not hitting the mark for me.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I am still playing Forza 4 🙂. I saw the dlc on sale and finally jumped on it so I’ll be giving the new stuff a shot. I still can’t believe how much stuff there is to do since the only extra story related stuff I’ve finished is the fastest rental car stuff. I think I’ve finished the main campaign but it’s hard to tell because the map is a mess lol.
Also picked up a couple games from Targets Black Friday sale- 3 month GP subscription cards( digital) are $25 also if you haven’t seen. I’m going to load up on those hopefully to last the year.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 6-7)

Well I should have continued playing Immortal Fenyx Rising when I got back from vacation recently however I’ve been seriously addicted to Forza Horizon 4. I tried it a long while back and wrote it off pretty much immediately but I came back for those added MS rewards points and can’t seem to stop. I can’t even fathom starting the new one yet because there’s so much to do in 4! I saw that I can get the ultimate dlc pack on 4 any thoughts on if it’s worth it?

Re: Another Ten Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (October 31)

Mamabear

What a large list! I’ve also played Celeste on Switch but I would definitely recommend that game before any of the others if you’re trying to squeeze it it.
Knights and Bikes is also pretty good. It’s not very long.
I’ve given Carto a try but it’s just so strange to me because the puzzles aren’t your typical sort and I had to keep looking up solutions without ever getting that “Aha!” moment. They’re just weird..
Unruly Heroes is on my list.. anybody give it a try?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 9-10)

Mamabear

I’ve been playing Immortal Fenyx Rising though I’m not too far in. I do see the comparison to Breath of the Wild but I’m not sure I agree with other comments/ reviews I’ve read of it being more empty.
I will also be starting Metroid Dread when I pick it up which is honestly the most excited I’ve been to play my Switch lately (still have yet to start Skyward Sword … ) Hopefully it’s as good as it looks!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 2-3)

I’ve finished up Lost Words: Beyond the Page (awesome experience that’s light in the gameplay) and Forgotten Anne which I had picked up on sale even though it’s not something I would normally play. It was okay, the story/ idea was interesting and felt different.
I’m continuing my hard drive cleanup and have just started Immortal Fenyx Rising. I’m not far enough in to have many solid thoughts/ impressions yet but have learned that I’ve been mispronouncing “Fenyx” so there’s that 😅.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I finished up Twin Mirror which was incredibly lackluster. I finished it hoping it would at least have a surprising twist or some other redeeming anything.
I’ve recently started The Last Campfire which has been good. It’s not a long game but I’m enjoying my time so far!
I think I’m going to start Lost Words afterwards and continue with my hard drive cleanup.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 18-19)

Finished up Omno which was such a nice chill little game. Just finished up 11-11: Memories Retold which was an interesting story with some light gameplay. I’ll be continuing my hard drive cleanup with Twin Mirror which I picked up recently on sale… I haven’t picked up the new LiS game yet because of my massive backlog so maybe this will scratch the itch lol. Maybe some Forza 4 if I get the time.
I also just picked up Wario for Switch so maybe I can play that a bit as well. Honestly haven’t been giving my Switch any love since I’ve yet to actually play the last few games I bought for it 😑. With the exception of 1st party games I’ve quit buying games for it and Im tired of buying indies to have them come to GP anyway.
Anyway have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 11-12)

Mamabear

I finished up Mafia 3 and all the dlc… whew it was a long one but overall enjoyable. I didn’t get the same ‘Mafia’ feeling as the first two but the story was cool in it’s own right.
I just started playing Omno and having a good time with it. It’s so chill and not overly complicated which is a nice break.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 4-5)

Mamabear

Still playing Mafia 3… I’ve been busy playing some of the dlc missions/ side missions while slowly gaining control of the city. I have one last district left I think. I also started Forza 4 for the MS reward points the other day and genuinely surprised with how much I like it so I might get a few races in if I need a break from being a gangster.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 28-29)

Mamabear

I’m still driving around New Bordeaux in Mafia 3 DE. I feel like I’m getting closer to finishing the main story campaign since I’ve 2 districts left to win and assign but there’s still a lot of optional missions and dlc left. So I’ll probably be playing this for a bit longer- it’s pretty engrossing. Meanwhile I watch my backlog grow by leaps and bounds because there’s so many GP games releasing! Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 21-22)

Mamabear

I’ve been clearing up my hard drive and started Mafia 3 DE.. I wasn’t feeling it at first but I’m glad I continued until the game took off. So far there are things I like about the game but can still easily say that Mafia DE is still my favorite. I’ll see how this stacks up with Mafia 2 the further along I get but right now it’s not as good as Mafia 2 which I had quite a few qualms with also. Still the story is interesting at least.
Also playing Wild at Heart via Xcloud and it’s a pretty decent game so far. If you like Pikmin you may want to give it a try!

Re: Hades Soars Over Flight Sim As Metacritic's Highest-Rated Xbox Game Of 2021

Mamabear

I bought this game on Switch during a sale and hadn’t gotten around to playing it and finally gave it a try via GP and can say I don’t think I like it much. While the graphics, voice acting, and writing is superb like other Supergiant games I’ve played ( Transistor and Bastion) it is still a rogue lite game and I hate doing things over and over. I have not managed to escape anything and can see this becoming tedious and a frustration quickly. I might give it another try but I’m not in any hurry. I’m glad that this game is successful for them- it’s just not my cup of tea.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 7th)

Mamabear

I’ve been playing Halo 3 ODST via Xcloud on my iPhone. It’s been pretty okay nothing like playing on my Series X but since I’m on vacation still it’s doable. I will say that so far this is one of my favorite Halo games because the narrative aspect is really nice. Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 31st)

Mamabear

I managed to eek out a finish of The Touryst, which was okay in my books- nothing I feel like I’ll remember much of down the road. I missed the last achievement- to do list. Retro games are my downfall apparently since I couldn’t beat any of the high scores 😅.
I’m not going to be starting something big since I’ll be leaving for vacation in a couple days but I’ll be throwing some dodgeballs in KO City and I think I’ll try out Flight Sim and see what the fuss is about.
I might try some more xcloud games if I have the chance while I’m gone and bring my new Backbone controller with me. I was on the fence since it’s fairly expensive but it sure beats the MOGA clip I’ve been using tenfold and its so much lighter and it’s like a Switch Lite. If you’re on the fence and you like the cloud gaming then definitely give it a shot.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 24th)

@Spiders I thought Control was a lot of fun… It’s what got me to want to try out Alan Wake and now Quantum Break. The stories are just weird and interesting. I don’t know if Remedy has other games but I’d definitely be interested to play them.
I have to admit the first “movie” had me going what the heck is this? 😂 I didn’t know about them before I started. I did end up watching them all because I thought it was such a good way to pack in extra character development and story related info. Plus the cast acting and way it was done was cool. If it ends up not being your cup of tea though they can be skipped.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 24th)

Mamabear

All the praise for Death’s Door is making me think it should be one of my next purchases!
In the meantime I will be playing some Knockout City and I’ve been trying The Touryst before it leaves GP.
I finished Quantum Break earlier this week and it was awesome! Truly interesting story and overall much better than I anticipated. I started on hard and somehow the second act reverted to normal mode so I’m debating going back and replaying it on hard to mop up that last achievement. Highly recommend if someone hasn’t played it!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 17th)

Mamabear

I’m in the 2nd act of Quantum Break so I will be continuing that. I read it was kinda like a movie but I was unprepared for that episode between the acts.So far it’s really interesting.
I will also be smacking some people with dodgeballs in Knockout City.
I also started playing Bug Fables via XCloud the other day and the experience is going well so far. Overall its been really good running on my iPhone and being able to use an Xbox controller via Bluetooth is great. I’ve got one of those MOGA clip style holders which isn’t bad especially since I can still use my phone case in it but it gets a heavy and uncomfortable after awhile because of the way the weight is distributed.I was thinking about getting one of those new iPhone controller set ups that Microsoft is offering because it looks so much more comfortable but $100 seems a little steep and I’m not sure if it would actually be better than my current setup.
I will also be picking up my copy of Skyward Sword 😁. I never got very far in the original because I thought the controls were pretty cumbersome and it became a chore. I’m excited to see how this goes for me!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Phil Spencer Praises PS5 DualSense, Says There's More Work To Do With The Xbox Controller

Mamabear

@Residentsteve01 Personally when I compare my Switch controllers ( that don’t have batteries) to my Xbox controllers ( with batteries) I find I prefer my Xbox controller. When my joycons die I can’t play with them and when my pro controller dies I’m tethered to my dock. Swapping the batteries ( or rechargeable battery packs that I use ) sucks when they die in the middle of a game but it’s an easy swap and I’m not tethered to the Xbox.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 10th)

Mamabear

I’ve been loving Knockout City on Gamepass! I’ve also got Rain On Your Parade going via xcloud on my iPhone- it’s okay a little stuttering every once in awhile so I probably won’t be trying intense games on it. I’ll also try out Biomutant this weekend.
Have a great weekend everyone!
