I’ll be playing Rise of the Tomb Raider. Awesome game so far! I may also dabble in Overcooked 2 I’m down to 4 more achievements. I also picked up LEGO Harry Potter collection in the sale and my wife and I started that last night- it’s a bit of a nostalgia trip. I should also finish up Wolfenstein The New Order before it leaves GamePass.
I know that they seem to be promoting the new Xbox as an optional upgrade at this point and that may be the case if you have a One X but all I think about is the struggle my S has playing Control and to a lesser extent A Plague Tale Innocence. Those games have been demanding on my console.
Oh no! I better hurry and finish the New Order! Glad I have Fallout 4 on disk... I figured it was going to leave soon since the other fallout games left recently. They seem to do that...
I’ve never played this series but if it looks interesting I’d give it a go. I go where the good games are - except PlayStation... I don’t like shapes on my buttons 😁
Hope the release isn’t pushed to far back.. I’ve been looking forward to this since trying the demo of the last one. I’ll be picking it up on Switch when it does come out though.
I’m playing Rise of the Tomb Raider- I don’t know how I managed to not play Tomb Raider games before now! So great! I’ll also be playing Overcooked 2 with the wife trying to tie up some achievement- takes forever to burn all that coal!
I’ll also be continuing South Park Stick of Truth on Switch- game is hilarious!
@nofriendo That’s a good sale! I saw that the older Tomb Raider games (Xbox 360) were on sale for $1.99 but I haven’t pulled the trigger. I never played Tomb Raider until the “newer” one so I’m not sure if I would like it as much. 🤔
I’ve finished up Life is Strange 2 and just started playing Fe ( EA Access). I’m thinking of starting up Rise of the Tomb Raider though or maybe finishing up Wolfenstein NO.. Happy gaming and stay safe!
I’ve been playing this a little and I would say that it’s not bad it’s just not great either. I like the art style and the characters. I like the 2 game modes but it definitely needs more. I haven’t had any performance issues on my S but the load times and waiting for a match can be ridiculous- especially if someone leaves before the match actually starts and they decide to find a player rather than let the team be one short. I had this happen this morning and it took about 8 minutes from pressing find match to actual playtime. Some of the characters seem to be imbalanced too. I would be upset if I paid money for this tbh. Maybe if they continue their support of the game like Fortnite or even how Nintendo updated Splatoon 2 then I could see that price point being justified.
I’ll be playing Life is Strange 2 this weekend- I’m about halfway through the 3rd chapter now. Haven’t quite figured out what Switch game I’m playing from my backlog since I’ve decided I should get through some of it before the end of May 😁
I’ve just started this a couple days ago. Pretty good so far. I played the original Before it left gamepass on a whim and fell in love, then quickly played Before the Storm too. I’ve just completed chapter 2 and it’s shaping up to be a great experience as well. Definitely worth a try if you’re on the fence!
@redd214 Anytime! I did some looking into this when I bought the second Switch because I didn’t want to buy extra copies of games. Now I have a better incentive to buy digital games to share. there’s so little info out there About this though so I just had to try it out.
I preferred discs when I started buying Xbox games but since I’m new to the console I didn’t realize that you still had to download the disc anyways and take up hard drive space. Now I buy what is cheaper unless I plan on trading a game in. I find that I’ve gotten lazy and hate changing discs though lol. I’m 90% digital on Switch though because I hate carrying around those tiny cartridges.
@redd214 we play Splatoon together simultaneously. I buy all digital games under my name so I can play just under my username. Since the other Switch lite is my “primary console” she can play all my games under her username even if my username bought them. That is the only way you can do it so you can play together. The other person just needs online service tied to their username if you plan to play online together thus making a family online service plan a better deal. We’ve played MK8, Splatoon, and Luigi’s Mansion this way- simultaneously and even together.
@redd214 I share my Digital games between 2 Switches. I made my wife’s Switch lite my primary console and I use my original that way we can play the games together ( like Splatoon). I can still play my games on the original under my user name since the games are tied to the user.
Over $500 when all said and done. I’ll be waiting to see what kind of issues crop up - new hardware new problems. Maybe after a year when the price comes down a bit.
I’ve been playing Control which is awesome! I’m wrapping up some side missions and have maybe 2 more main missions before I’ve completed it.
Also usually play some Overcooked 2- can’t get enough of this game!
There is that cool Assassins Creed Odyssey free weekend play that I’m tempted to try. I just haven’t been able to get into an Assassins Creed game as of yet despite trying.
@carlos82 I ended up buying the S back in November since it was ridiculously cheap and didn’t think I would NEED the X. I still think the S is nice but I kinda wish I would have gotten the X since I’ve noticed some performance issues when playing a few games ( A Plague’s Tale and Control being the worst). I think if someone is planning to wait to get the new Xbox for a significant amount of time after launch they should get the X otherwise I don’t think it will matter that much.
This sounds fantastic. I’d love to easily switch between A couple games at once. That’s an especially nice feature if you like to play online with friends as you could jump to that game quickly rather than waiting to save your current game and then closing and opening the New game.
I played through Blind Forest on Switch and thought it was fantastic. Some challenging platforming- I will never forget the tree- but ultimately a lot less frustrating than HK to me. I think implementing the charms like HK is interesting. Like others I have yet to start this game, now I’m thinking I may take my time and wrap up the games I’ve already started and wait for a patch. Good review.

Re: Poll: Do You Avoid Downloading Large Games On Xbox Game Pass?
I download large gamepass games at night before I go to bed using the app. Space isn’t an issue but I’ve definitely noticed slower speeds lately.
