We've got a couple of new Xbox Wireless Controllers on the horizon! Microsoft has today announced that the 'Electric Volt' and 'Daystrike Camo' designs will be available to purchase on April 27 and May 4 respectively.
Here's what Microsoft has to say about the two controllers:
Electric Volt - April 27 ($64.99 USD)
Electric Volt builds on the same, striking color theme of Shock Blue and Pulse Red but takes it up a notch with a high-energy, yellow resin not yet seen on Xbox hardware. The high-vis yellow top case punches hard against the matte black hybrid D-pad while the white back case adds even more dimension to the design. Textured grip on the bumpers, triggers, and back case help provide greater control through every gaming session.
Daystrike Camo Special Edition - May 4 ($69.99 USD)
Your favorite Xbox camo takes on a unique, lifestyle twist in this fresh design. With a palette of deep reds, paired with grey and black, Daystrike Camo brings a streetwear vibe to your game. It also includes features standard of the new Xbox Wireless Controllers like the Share button, hybrid D-pad, and textured grip on the triggers. For the first time ever, the Daystrike Camo Special Edition incorporates textured grip across the entire top surface of the bumpers to keep your grip locked in and on target.
Additionally, for the first time ever, these two controllers are incorporating post-consumer recycled (PCR) resins made from recycled materials like automotive headlight covers, plastic water jugs and CDs. The goal is to become more sustainable across the Xbox product lifecycle, and Microsoft says it's "excited to be taking this next step."

I'm waiting for a dark green controller, similar to the green plasticine from primary school. Not my favourite colour but it would look nice.
Oh god, that looks so good! I want that and I don't even have a Series console.
I still want that Canadian Denim controller to actually happen
I've been intending to get a new-gen Xbox controller for my PC but I'm literally holding off just because I want the Canadian Denim one to actually become a commercially available product
@ObeseChihuahua2 They work on Xbox One as well
Love the green controller
Ok how many people have more than two controllers? I bought a white Xbone controller fir PC gaming while waiting for the series x and now use it as my xcloud one unless i play co-op with the kids. I know some people own like 5+ controllers....but why?
Having said that i might get me a design lab one down the line once i need to replace one of the one's I have
@Krzzystuff
It's called "collecting things".
Ooooooooooh I like that volt one. I've resisted the urge to pick up an additional colour yet but they're tempting me again!!
These look great! Awesome they have a variety of colors after only a handful of months!
I just want one controller where the battery lasts more than a couple of play throughs. Have to charge up my Duracell rechargeable batteries every couple of days. Possibly because I've been playing Doom3 using the chainsaw which has constant vibrate on, to the point where I try walking through the game switching weapons just to save battery life on the controller. Screw in-game inventory management - this controller has in-game battery management!
On a serious note though I see MS do a battery pack I can put into the controller but I can't find an official charge station to match it. There are some non-official ones I can see but I'd rather get an MS official product - can anyone recommend any products to solve this?
I've seen the Pro-charging stand on the MS website but it doesn't say what it's charging? The Plug and play charge battery? If so thats £20 for the battery and £40 for the charger? That doesn't seem right. Does the rechargeable battery come with the Pro Charge? There's no info on the site?
I'm in the market for a new gamepad as my Elite v2 has left analogue stick drift and it's driving me nuts. However, I'll probably get the white or blue one. These new ones, though nice, don't really tickle my fancy.
@StonyKL i hear the eneloop pro rechargeable batteries are really good and last a lot longer than the cheapofillipo Duracell. I have the Duracells myself and just keep switching them as they die.
Like that red camo one, and the back plate is black so it won't look horrible with a rechargeable battery back plate!
Must not buy a new controller, must be strong
I want the Green one o.o
I like these. Yes, I like them very much!
I'm sticking to my Sonic Shock Blue controller.
The one that still makes me think that there IS a Sega deal somewhere to be announced
Like the red camo one a lot but I am waiting it out for Halo Infinite Limited edition controllers.
FINALLY a green one. However, i'm not sure about that shade.
Maybe it looks better in person.
I held off on the cool red one released recently in hopes of a green controller so I’ll be getting that awesome green one. Good timing since my old white controller is making some weird noises..
@FraserG Wait, seriously? Guess I'm going to waste my stimulus check on even more stuff.
@ObeseChihuahua2 Yep, all the new controllers are cross-compatible with Xbox One as well.
Bloody awful! Lol
I am glad I didn’t buy the red controller. These new controllers give me hope there will be an “Xbox Green” controller.
@Krzzystuff There's people that own more than two pairs of shoes, imagine that!
Electric Volt reminds me of a Gameboy Advance SP. I want.
Ok, I've resisted the colors so far. Shock blue looks like my PS4 blue, so no-go. Red...it's an Xbox not a witch. Robo white...nah.
And then they throw down a neon laser lemon.....must....resist.....
Not keen about the white back, it would look best in all black & yellow IMO, but that is pretty darned hard to resist right there...
@StonyKL Eneloops definitely are the nicest batteries to go for. The plain white ones. The official Play & Charge (old name) or "Xbox Rechargable Battery + USB-C" (Catchy new name!) doesn't come with a "charger", your Xbox is the charger (or any other USB charger or PC you ahve around.) It does come with a USB-C cable (or USB-B cable for teh old Play & Charge ones for the X1 controllers.) You just need the battery and an appropriate cable (USB-miniB for X1 era, USB-C for Series era controllers.) it charges in the controller same as PS & Ninty controllers. Except you can replace the battery when it dies. Which is better.
@Medic_Alert What if they discontinued them March 31st? Suddenly more exciting, right?
I'm not going to get either as I already have two black controllers, but if I had to pick one it would be the Daystrike Camo. At least it doesn't have the white back to it like they are forcing on almost all of their colored Series controllers. Would have gotten the Pulse Red instead of a second black one if it was all red.
I like the margarita themed controller. I don't get the red camo. What are you going to assault donning those fatigues? A volcano?
They're... hit and miss. The electric yellow looks pretty good, but I'll stick with my shock blue, waiting on a true special edition hopefully with rubber grips before I buy another.
Seen a lot of complaints online about a lack of green controller..well here it is!
Red camo looks good, I usually wouldn't go for that type of design.
Straight into the hands of the ‘influencers’ for free no doubt
