Here's what we’re jumping into over the weekend:

Well, I'll let the cat out of the bag - I'm reviewing It Takes Two for Pure Xbox this weekend. We unfortunately didn't get access to it until later than planned, but we'll nevertheless have our verdict on it shortly for you, and the reviews we have seen so far have been very complimentary. My fiancée and I haven't had a chance to play too much of it yet, but we're very encouraged by what we've played so far.
The rest of my weekend will be taken up by upgraded Xbox Series X titles for the most part. I'm finally enjoying Marvel's Avengers now that it loads super quickly and looks absolutely stunning on the next-gen system, and while the $10 digital upgrade fee for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 is perplexing to say the least, there's no doubt that it's another very good Xbox Series X upgrade (when it works), and it's particularly good at 120FPS.
That's about it for me, although I did go for a bizarre impulse buy earlier this week in the form of Active Soccer 2019. Don't ask me why - I just wanted a modernised Sensible Soccer type game packed with over 1000 teams and a lengthy career mode - and while it's pretty buggy, it's actually a lot of fun. No regrets here!
Have a good weekend, folks!

After weeks and weeks, I am wrapping up Assassin's Creed Valhalla this weekend. It's taken me upwards of 130 hours, but I've enjoyed every second of it. Many have said it's too long. I say it's not long enough, and I could have easily kept going for another hundred odd hours. Either way, it's without a doubt my favourite entry in the series and I'm excited to see where it leads.
So what will I be moving onto? Well, I have two new releases to dive into. First off is It Takes Two, which me and my fiancée will be devouring this weekend. A Way Out was a great game to play together during lockdown, so the reviews for this have me feeling fairly confident. Additionally, I'm going to give Balan Wonderworld a go. Yes, I know - the demo wasn't great, but everyone deserves a second chance and I'm keen to see if they really did make the changes they've promised. We'll find out soon enough.
Have a nice, chilled weekend, everyone!

Hello. This weekend I’m going to be spending as much of my limited free time as I possibly can with Feral Cat Den’s properly magical Genesis Noir, which has just jazz-danced its way onto Xbox Game Pass. I threw this one on for a quick look yesterday after hearing a few good reports on Twitter and was instantly and utterly hooked, it really is like no other point and click game I’ve ever experienced and, without spoiling anything, I highly recommend you jump in for a look.
Any other free time I possibly manage to eek out over the next few days will be given over to DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part 2, the final slice of DLC for one of my absolute favourite shooters of recent years. Here’s hoping this farewell episode can manage to rise to the all-out insanity of its predecessor, an add-on that took everything about the core campaign’s combat experience and turned it right up to 11.
Have fun whatever you’re doing or playing over the weekend and stay safe out there!

Will be playing Yakuza 5 on PS4, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on Wii U and Alan Wake on 360. I might also start up a bunch of other games, such as Mafia, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Mario & Luigi Partners in Time and Metroid Prime 2, since I’m really craving a lot of variety right now.
Finally...FINALLY, finished Cyber Shadow (25 hours and 1000+ deaths later I should add) and what a game. The first of its kind I've really played tbh as hard to believe as that may sound
Now onto Immortals Fenix Rising as I fancied something a little more relaxed. I'm not usually one for open worlders - particularly the ubisoft ones- but this is really charming and definitely caught me by surprise. As someone who really really didn't get the hype behind BOTW I was a little hesitant as the majority of the reviews seemed to be a straight comparison and focused on all the ways they felt it lacked compared to BOTW , however I'm enjoying it more !
Swapping between Monster Hunter Rise and trying to find the last collectibles in Journey to the Savage Planet before it leaves gamepass.
I will be playing these few free games but first off i just wanna say i am so glad Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1&2 digitally seem like i got the upgrade for free anyways.
On Xbox 1 i'm playing Octopath traveler, Pardise Lost, WRC 9 and hopefully finishing Tell Me Why.
On Ps4 I'm still on Assassins Creed 2 via Assassins Creed Ezio collection and Assassins Creed Valhalla.
@Mr-Fuggles777 journey is leaving gamepass? Nooooo I literally just started this yesterday
A LOT of Monster hunter rise, finally complete trials of mana on ps4 and some more journey to the Savage planet on gamepass
@UltimateOtaku91 at the end if the month. Its easy enough to blast through in 1 sitting but the collectibles are a bit of a grind.
Drop me a friend request if you want to grab the coop achievements, there's one I missed for killing an early boss so would help me out as well.
I will likely be online between 01:00 & 04:30 GMT as I'm on nights for the next 3 lol - just can't use a mic in work.
@LtSarge Mafia Definitive Edition? Cracking game that. Was so dissapointed with the Mafia 2 remaster and all the glitches nearly put me off going for Mafia 1 but Hangar 13 nailed it.
I’ll be putting some more time into Journey to the Savage Planet before it leaves GP. I’m not too sure about it but I’m going to give it some more time.
I did buy Overcooked All You Can Eat on a whim yesterday 😅 Even though I’ve purchased the games before - more than once I might add. I just love it and am curious about the upgrades/ changes they’ve made as well as the dlc only available in this new package ( ridiculous but I’m seeing it worked on me).
Also still working through Cat Mario collecting the last few character stamps. We’ve gotten character completions on all the regular levels just need to work on the unlocked harder levels.
For me similar to last week tbh
Series X - more Forza Horizon 4. Finally trying out Fortune Island and Lego Champions DLC
PS5 - checking out Tony Hawk upgrade and more Crash 4
Switch - Mario 3D world. Mopping up last stars/stamps to unlock the special world again
Switch - Continuing to play through Crash 4, maybe a bit of Splatoon 2!
PS4 - Weekly GTA Online session with friends!
PC - Trying out the 2020 Battletoads via Game Pass!
Have a good weekend everyone.
Started Immortals Fenyx Rising which is decent so far. Also just finished Yakuza 6, which was very good, can't wait to play Like a Dragon.
@Jaxx420 Yeah it's the Definitive Edition. Funny thing I was actually playing the original Xbox version before they announced the remake and that one is absolutely awful. The remake is so much better from what I've played so far. I'm glad that I still own the 360 version of Mafia II after having heard of the technical issues the remastered version had. But yeah, it's just nice to play an open world game that doesn't have too many distractions where I can just focus on enjoying the story. The setting is an absolute delight as well!
Had a brief Fallout 4 adventure but the bugs made me unistall it. So I'm back with Red Dead Redemption and Forza Motorsport 6.
Q) What Xbox games are you playing this weekend?
A) For Xbox games, I've been playing Balan Wonderworld since last night and have continued to play it pretty much since I woke up. I've cleared the first six acts but this is also the kind of the game that encourages a lot of backtracking once you've got more powers/outfits. Seeing the diamond achievements I've gotten so far, it seems I'm speeding ahead of other Xbox players of this game.
I doubt I'll play anything but Balan Wonderworld this weekend, but if I do, it'll probably be a bit of Nexomon: Extinction on my Switch or a teensy bit of Pokémon Diamond Version on my DS (the latter for my playthrough based story I write in my spare time).
Pokémon Blue Version (Game Boy) - Making my way down Cycling Road towards Fuchsia City.
Angry Birds Stella (Windows Phone) - Still working on completing each and every last level.
Gerbil Physics (Windows Phone) - Continuing along with this as well.
The usual... Assassin's Creed Valhalla and then more Gears Tactics Veteran missions when I have extra time.
I’m finishing The Medium then finishing Phogs. After that I’m still undecided, maybe Yakuza 6
I'm playing The Division 2's expansion Warlords of New York and Monster Hunter Rise on my Switch.
Hopefully finish watch dogs legeon and start yakuza 5.
I'm finally gonna be starting Gears Of War Hivebusters, I also think i'm going to start Tomb Raider Definitive Edition..
I'll be giving Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit a go, and I've also re-downloaded Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection.
Stardew Valley (Series X). I am so hooked on this game right now. Midway through my second year now.
CoD: Black Ops Cold War (Series X) Its a double XP weekend all around so I will be playing this off and on through out the weekend.
Some time later today im going to be playing Resident Evil 3 Remake which I bought from the X Box Live store late last night and let it install while i went to sleep.
I'd love to play it right now but I just painted the upstairs steps a new paint color brown. Itll take pretty much all day at least 4 pm i think that the paint will be dry
Octopath Traveler , AC Valhalla and wreckfest!
I’m playing ac Valhalla which I’m quite enjoying - have just received my series X so getting some game time in again.
More Skyrim, more Titanfall 2, more Slay the Spire... and that's probably it. I've gotten myself into a happy little rut lately games-wise.
I’m hoping to finish Strikers this weekend. We shall see.
Fallout 76. Obsessed with this game at the minute
Having a co-op night with a buddy who moved out east recently. Gonna let him choose so likely between wreckfest, Battlefront II or FH4.
Everytime I turn my Series X on I have to play WRC 9 it's an excellent rally game with nice graphics. Might play a bit of Overwatch as it's recently been updated. In-between some PVZ on the Switch which has been ported very nicely.
Genesis Noir! What an incredibly unique game/experience. Love the music as well.
Recently started Avengers and Remnant: From the Ashes. Having a blast with both of them so far.
Slow gaming week for me, so pretty much the same as last week:
XBSX - Vermintide 2 - My friends and I are getting deeper into it with a better understanding of the game's mechanics and systems
PC - Thief Gold - Just over 2/3 of the way through now. This game needs an actual remake rather than the reboot from 2014 or whatever. It's a really cool game, but even with the fan mods, the graphics are just bad (I mean, it's almost 25 years old so I get it, but still). Its also difficult for me to take the stealth super seriously since enemies quite often clip through doors and walls - sometimes I can even kill them through walls since my sword seems to go through better than theirs can. I know I could bump up the difficulty to force myself to not be able to kill, but I honestly think it'd just make the game take even longer rather than actually be more fun. Still enjoying it for what it is, and appreciating it for it's legacy.
PS3 - Also still chipping away at God of War: Ascension - This game is a complete step sideways from GoW3 - It brings almost nothing new to the table, and honestly just isn't as good as it should be. It's not bad exactly, its just more of the same. There's just nothing special about it whatsoever. Almost to the finish line, at which point I will have finished every game in the series (Except for Betrayal - not sure if that even counts though - I might try to emulate it at some point in the future just to see what it was about).
I'm playing the division two with a friend eso by myself when he is having family time and a little borderlands 3
About four hours into my first ever play through of Skyrim. It’s really intimidating how much there is to do but I’m enjoying it!
