Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 14-15)

Welcome to the weekend! We've been treated once again over the past few days, with a bunch of new Xbox Game Pass additions, three more Free Play Days titles, and of course, everyone's most anticipated release, Lawn Mowing Simulator! Plus, if you're interested, the free Back 4 Blood open beta is taking place throughout the course of this weekend.

Here's what we’re jumping into over the next couple of days:

I had to play Lawn Mowing Simulator for review last week, but now that the review is out... I kind of still want to keep playing it. In all honesty, it doesn't set the world (or grass, thankfully) alight or anything, but it is a really relaxing and therapeutic game, and so while I can only play it in short bursts, I do want to return to my mower this weekend.

Elsewhere, there's so much new stuff on Game Pass to try. GRID, Dirt Rally 2.0, Art of Rally and Hades are all titles I've never played before and I'm very interested in, so I'm going to have to pick and choose what I want to dig into.

And really, that's still just the tip of the iceberg. I got invited to the FIFA 22 Closed Beta, so that's something to play with, Dodgeball Academia is a game I'm really enjoying as well, and I'm hoping to revisit Back 4 Blood during its open beta.

Have a good weekend, folks!

To start this weekend off, I'm going to be finishing up The Siege of Paris expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. If you missed it, I wrote about my connection with the game I've built, so I've been really happy to dive back into this world.

Along with that, I'm still having an absolute blast on Hades. It's just a game that keeps on giving, filled with surprises in every corner. I love it so much. I'm also going to balance it out with some new indies such as Button City, so expect some thoughts about that in the near future.

As always, Xbox Game Pass is the star for indies, and I'll continue trying new games such as Cris Tales, Dodgeball Academia and much more. It's an absolutely great time for gaming right now, and the next few weeks are only going to get better.

Have a great one, everyone!
