Welcome to the weekend! We've been treated once again over the past few days, with a bunch of new Xbox Game Pass additions, three more Free Play Days titles, and of course, everyone's most anticipated release, Lawn Mowing Simulator! Plus, if you're interested, the free Back 4 Blood open beta is taking place throughout the course of this weekend.
Here's what we’re jumping into over the next couple of days:
Fraser Gilbert, News Editor
I had to play Lawn Mowing Simulator for review last week, but now that the review is out... I kind of still want to keep playing it. In all honesty, it doesn't set the world (or grass, thankfully) alight or anything, but it is a really relaxing and therapeutic game, and so while I can only play it in short bursts, I do want to return to my mower this weekend.
Elsewhere, there's so much new stuff on Game Pass to try. GRID, Dirt Rally 2.0, Art of Rally and Hades are all titles I've never played before and I'm very interested in, so I'm going to have to pick and choose what I want to dig into.
And really, that's still just the tip of the iceberg. I got invited to the FIFA 22 Closed Beta, so that's something to play with, Dodgeball Academia is a game I'm really enjoying as well, and I'm hoping to revisit Back 4 Blood during its open beta.
Have a good weekend, folks!

To start this weekend off, I'm going to be finishing up The Siege of Paris expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. If you missed it, I wrote about my connection with the game I've built, so I've been really happy to dive back into this world.
Along with that, I'm still having an absolute blast on Hades. It's just a game that keeps on giving, filled with surprises in every corner. I love it so much. I'm also going to balance it out with some new indies such as Button City, so expect some thoughts about that in the near future.
As always, Xbox Game Pass is the star for indies, and I'll continue trying new games such as Cris Tales, Dodgeball Academia and much more. It's an absolutely great time for gaming right now, and the next few weeks are only going to get better.
Have a great one, everyone!

Will be playing Resident Evil 3 (PS1) on Vita, Forza Motorsport 4 on 360 and Remember Me on PS3.
I'm really enjoying the original RE3, it's way more intense than the previous two games. The fact that you have to revisit areas and new enemies will show up, as well as Nemesis constantly chasing you, is absolutely terrifying. Really good game so far! I'm also trying to finish up Forza 4's world tour mode and right now I'm on the eighth year out of ten so I'm getting pretty close to the end. I absolutely love playing this game while listening to the Rooster Teeth podcast in the background, it's such a great way to relax even while gaming.
Let’s just say, I’m not allowed to say 🤫
If i do get some game time I'll be carrying on in pshyconauts or Halo 2 most likely. Maybe work on some of the gamepass quests on xcloud if I'm just playing a bit before bed.
Have a great weekend everyone.
@Chaudy sorry to hear that. You got a laptop/tablet and GPU by chance? Stream some games on xcloud or play via the PC app?
Also hope you're feeling good.
@KrzzyStuff thanks man, I might try streaming. Never tried it before. Will give it go. Stay safe.
Hades and Lawn Mowing. I'm surprised at the depth LMS has and the ability to keep me hooked. I'm currently managing employees and trying to get a new(er) HQ.
Meanwhile Hades is just plain fantastic.
After trying for what seems like forever, I finally managed to snag myself a PS5...which is coming tomorrow! I won’t be shunning my Series X completely though - whilst I wait for my PS5 I’ll be playing The Ascent, The Art of Rally, and some Flight Simulator on my XSX.
I’ll be continuing halo 3 ODST. Then maybe try out The Occupation which I rented. Have a great weekend everyone!
Tried Hades for about an hour last night until my guys popped online and we got into the Back 4 Blood open beta. Pretty fun stuff, but a little anticlimactic. The card mechanic is alright I guess, but the game doesn't do anything super innovative or interesting to tweak the formula, which is fine overall since the main gameplay loop is still as fun as it ever was in L4D.
I'll play through another chapter of Doom Eternal before returning to Hades for the rest of whatever time I have this weekend. Not quite sure I'll stick with it, but I am enjoying it so far. What weapons are you all using? Outside of the sword, I tried the bow and was doing well until I got to one of those big crystals and was completely dominated, so yeah, I went back to the sword for now.
Also, I noticed Cruelty Squad is on sale on Steam - would anyone recommend it?
Never played Hellblade so giving that a bash. A bit of Omno and Deaths Door on the side.
I am mostly playing axiom verge 2 (really good but not as good as the first one), last night I got a run of Hades but it is really hard to get to zero after being use to kicking everyones butt easily and still going on jade Empire
Angry Birds Star Wars (Windows Phone) - Still having a blast with this one. Probably my favourite AB game after Seasons.
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Still playing around with this.
Bug Village (Windows Phone) - Normally not into village management games, but this is kinda cute.
Splitgate & F1 2020.
Might give Hades and Art Of Rally a quick try as well.
It’s between Rise on Switch & Monster Hunter World on Series X for me. My golly is it gorgeous versus my old hardware, the OG Xbox One
I beat Death’s Door yesterday, tried out the Back 4 Blood beta and started The Ascent.
I'm nearing the end in Tomb Raider Definitive edition, Great game, Highly recommend it if you've never played it before.. After that i think i'm gonna try out Kaze And The Wild Masks, I hear it plays just like DKC which is one my favorite franchise of all time.. Happy gaming everybody
Switch: Going to the lanayru desert in skyward sword.
Xbox: Playing some matches with my brother on fifa 21
Switch: Persona 5 Strikers. I think Im coming close to the finishline.
Series S: Im giving Outer Worlds another chance and I like it alot more this time around. I might actually finish it. If I have time I will also play Hades and The Ascent.
Hi guys! On Series S, I'm going to try the Back 4 Blood beta as I'm a big L4D fan. Some Art of Rally and Hades on the side, too.
On PS5, I'm about to finish Mass Effect 3.
Have a great weekend!
Diablo II Remastered Beta….Hades…season 5 Black Ops.
Pathfinder Kingmaker, Dirt 5 and Elder Scrolls Online this time around for me!
Fuga Melodies of Steel and more people need to be playing it.
Art of Rally, one of the most relaxing games I've played in a very long time. Great to fire up and throw on a podcast or book. Really enjoying it!
@John117 Hades next on the list. Too many games, not enough time at the moment.
Hades - held off buying on the switch.
The Ascent - enjoying it in quick bursts, not sure it'll last me long term.
Madden 22 - building a no money spent ultimate team. Aejay made some nice pick ups but only have a few hours left on the trial.
Hades for the win this weekend. Also probably some Forza Horizon 4 DLC.
Crackdown, Train Sim World 2 and Flight Sim.
Plus Rocket League.
So many other games to play, not enough time. Never a dull moment on XBOX.
