Our second batch of titles leaving Xbox Game Pass in July 2024 has been revealed, with three games in total exiting the service at the end of the month. There aren't any huge departures in this list, but there are still some great games on the way out in late July.
Here's what's leaving Xbox Game Pass on July 31st:
Xbox Game Pass: Leaving Soon (July 31, 2024)
Date | Game | Platform |
July 31 | A Short Hike | Console, PC, Cloud |
July 31 | Train Sim World 4 | Console, PC, Cloud |
July 31 | Venba | Console, PC, Cloud |
As is always the case, you can get a discount of at least 20% on each of these games until they leave Xbox Game Pass in late July, and if you're lucky, they might be reduced even further as part of Xbox's digital sales promotions. We have the big summer sale coming up later this week, so be on the look out for that!
In the meantime, we'd like to give a special mention to both A Short Hike and Venba here. Both of these indies are fantastic short-but-sweet adventures, and we happen to think they're both worth a playthrough before they leave Xbox Game Pass. You can read more about why they're worth trying down below.

If you haven’t played A Short Hike or Venba yet, do yourself a favor and play them both this weekend. It’ll take 4 hours to play them both and they’re both great.
@somnambulance seconding this, Venba is really cool.
A Short Hike is a great game, Venba is ok for collecting achievements (and you have a guide).
And if you like A short Hike then don’t sleep on Lil Gator on GP it feels like a spiritual successor…
If you haven't played A Short Hike yet do it, it literally takes like 2 hours to beat it plus it's quick achievements.
Does this mean Sea of Stars will stay on GP? In that case I won’t rush it.
Will start a short hike as my daily achievement going forward
Ah damn. I've got Venba downloaded, but not played it yet. I'll be super busy this weekend, so I hope I can manage next weekend instead.
@Darude84 I think Sea of Stars was listed as a potential game to leave in August? I’m currently playing it just in case.
@Mamabear Yeah, that’s right. That’s why I thought I should hurry, but I guess that’s not needed anymore.
