Welcome to the weekend! As always, there's lots of good stuff to check out on Xbox over the next couple of days, including a bunch of new Xbox Game Pass titles, three Free Play Days additions and the usual Xbox weekly sales.
Here's what we’re jumping into over the weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, News Editor
I know what most of my weekend is going to be taken up with, as I've got access to the first Back 4 Blood Early Access Beta (the next one will be accessible to everyone from August 12-15), and I'm very keen to see how faithful it is to the Left 4 Dead formula and what else it brings to the table ahead of its Xbox Game Pass launch in October.
Elsewhere, it's still all about the indie games for me at the moment, as I've been really enjoying some recent Game Pass additions such as Raji: An Ancient Epic and the superb Omno. I still haven't had a chance to even try Last Stop yet, which has been on Game Pass for a few weeks, and I'm keen to try out Dodgeball Academia as well.
That's about it for me, along with the usual smattering of sports games.
Have a good weekend, folks!

After already checking out Back 4 Blood, I probably expect most of my time will be devoted to slaying down zombie hordes with some buddies. It's been fantastic scratching that Left 4 Dead itch, and this beta is getting me more and more excited for the full release.
Additionally, I'll also be finishing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on my Nintendo Switch. I've really been taking my time and absorbing the world, and this is just the beginning of my chronological playthrough of the entire franchise.
Finally, Xbox Game Pass has been too good to me recently, so a variety of indie games are getting played over the weekend. I just finished Last Stop, which is fantastic, so I'm now moving on over to The Ascent, Dodgeball Academia, and Cris Tales. We're truly in a golden era of Game Pass, and hopefully more players discover some of these excellent lesser known titles.
Have a great one, everyone!

Switch - Going to start Dragon Quest XI!
PS5 - GTA Online with friends and maybe a bit more Demon's Souls!
PC - Starting a fresh run of Half Life!
Have a good weekend everyone.
Xbox Series X - Deadlight
Going for the whole Halo Trilogy in a few months before the release of Infinite. Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2 to go. Halo 5 today.
Will be playing Persona 5 Royal on PS4, Forza Motorsport 4 on 360, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time on Wii U and Corpse Party on 3DS. These next couple of days are gonna go slow for me so I decided to resume some games that are long and also "slow".
I've been playing P5R for over 110 hours and I'm nearing the end of the main story before the third semester. With FM4 I'm halfway through the career mode and it's been relaxing to play this game while listening to the Rooster Teeth podcast in the background. And if I want to play something while I'm in my bed, I'll be playing M&L and Corpse Party. Honestly getting quite tired of M&L even though it's the second game in the series, lol. It just gets too repetitive very quickly. Which is why I decided to start up Corpse Party (in order to switch between these two titles) and so far I'm absolutely loving it. I find Japanese high school horror to be an interesting theme and something I've not experienced much of thus far.
Far cry 5, Ascent, Katamari roll thingy, (it's almost too fun) and still dabbling in some zombie slaying on Dying light.
It's ray-tracing appreciation week for me: Quake 2 RTX and Doom Eternal.
Not sure what the guys and I will get up to tonight. I'd like to try out The Ascent, but more likely we'll end up playing Sea of Thieves and Knockout City as per usual.
The Ascent and Dodgeball Academia will be played but the incredible Death’s Door is still my top game and surprised it’s not in the list of choices. My GOTY so far!
Got a new tv so mainly doing some testing with series x. Rejoined insider Beta class, first time on series x so will be trying Dolby Atmos and Dolby vision with FH4.
So far series x ok with beta firmware no issues.
Finally starting Cyberpunk, think I've left it long enough after all the patches. Not too bad so far. Also playing Fire Emblem Three Houses on Switch, which is brilliant. Have a good one folks!
Xcom 2 War of the Chosen XsX
Back 4 Blood beta, Astral Chain and maybe Bayonetta
I will be playing mostly The ascent. I am enjoying this game way more than I was expecting but I have to say the game would be even better if it had a run button as you need to transverse a lot even using metro and cab as often as possible
@Razputinman DQ11 is such a great game! Enjoy
Recently finished: Atelier Ryza 2.
Series S: Halo 5 coop, Gears 5 coop, Flight Simulator landing challenges and The Outer Worlds. I fell off first time playing TOW but decided to give it another chance. So far so good.
Switch: Persona 5 Strikers
Maybe a little FIFA 21 Saturday night, but I'm off on holiday on Sunday and am taking the PS5 and Switch so the Series X will have to wait at home unfortunately. I'll be sure to give it some extra love next week with some Hades, and maybe even give Prey a proper crack
Angry Birds Star Wars (Windows Phone) - Just starting this one up.
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - Love me some puzzle games!
Bug Village (Windows Phone) - Just starting on this one as well.
@SplooshDmg I'd definitely love to see a AAA title based on Hindu mythology. Although at this point I feel like only God of War would be able to tackle something like that. We've already seen Greek and Norse mythology, so the only ones left are Egypt and Hindu for that franchise I guess. Maybe Microsoft could find a studio to make a game like that.
Having loads of fun in both Orcs must die 3, and The Ascent. Also still playing Flight Simulator and F1 2021. I think I’m gonna download Omno and give that a go too.
On Series S: The Ascent (loving it, will defo buy it at some point)
Ori and the Blind Forest (with my daughter)- fantastic game and the soundtrack is god tier (The Spirit Tree brings tears to my eyes every time).
Happy gaming all!
I'm playing Tomb Raider Definitive edition
Also playing some Pokemon Shield
I’m thinking of starting Fuga. And some Lumines.
@thenewguy P5S is one of my favorite games. Have fun
@mousieone Nice! Im really enjoying it so far. Thank you.
Completely addicted to Jedi Fallen Order on my One X. It cam with my system almost two years ago and I’m just getting around to playing it. And slowly playing Skyward Sword HD on the side when I need a break. Have a good weekend!
I’ve been playing Halo 3 ODST via Xcloud on my iPhone. It’s been pretty okay nothing like playing on my Series X but since I’m on vacation still it’s doable. I will say that so far this is one of my favorite Halo games because the narrative aspect is really nice. Have a great weekend everyone!
Other than far cry 5 warriors orochi 4 and ncaa football 14
Beat The Ascent and currently playing Samurai Warriors 5. It's just like the old ones, great to play when you have a podcast in the background!
I've been trying to play the B4B beta but I keep getting server disconnects so hopefully for the next round I'll be actually able to play it.
Deaths Door and Omno. Really enjoying these independent games that are coming out.
@SpecialT both of them are excellent me too.
I finished Omno yesterday, what a wonderful little game and one I probably wouldn’t have played if not for Gamepass. Other than that I’m playing The Ascent and started Dodgeball Academia, another game I wouldn’t have played if not for Gamepass but I must say I’m really enjoying it so far. It’s an interesting quirky game.
Control. Great game. Played it before when it was on GamePass. Picked it up it with M$ points before the sale ended!
I'm finally playing Hitman 3, as well as the occasional Flight Simulator. Sadly The Ascent didn't click with me. I finished Omno a couple days ago, a nice, relaxing game and a very easy 1000 G.
It's not Tetris Connected, but had a few nice sessions with Lumines again already.
