A reboot was absolutely the right thing to do.
This trailer was good.

It looks like a Saints Row game to me, something between two and three, pitched about right, one was too primitive and four was just not very good at all.

A side note, I actually enjoyed Gat out of Hell. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think Volition will get this right, they have to.
The trailer, although not original at all was still very Saints Row in essence. I think the game will be good. I would also think that they will do DLC with some familiar old SR flavour too...

It's very rare that I do not own any of the Games with Gold, but these are all new to me. Not sure if I will play any of them, but I certainly have no complaints.

As a Saints Row fan I am almost just glad that the series lives on.
Four took it too far and became a crap version of Crackdown, three was an all time classic.
The only way they could make another game was a reboot, I'm sure we all saw that coming, they had no where left to go.

I am hoping for a good game that sells well and then watch it ramp up to the third games levels of craziness again. Hopefully they can take the franchise back to it's heyday.

I've never owned a limited edition console before, but this looks nice and I am sure I could get a buyer for my current Series X no problem.

Yes! Love the Saints Row series, looking forward to seeing how they handle a reboot, I assume dial it back a little so they can ramp up the craziness again with sequels.

Now's the time to pick this up if you haven't already.

I don't buy physical video game media on Xbox anyway, but this is pretty crazy and MS allowing this is a good way of pissing some of their own fanbase off.
I would suggest that they should have blocked this until they could issue an Xbox version too, or even better, rush through the paperwork to make sure that it happens along side the other versions.

I'm all for MS playing nice guy and it has been great for their reputation, but no way would Sony or Nintendo allow this to happen, hell, they wouldn't even allow their game on the other platforms anyway! nevermind this situation.

(I'm not suggesting that MS should not release the game on other formats btw, this is clearly a taster to get people onboard with a new Quake, which surely will not be on PS & Switch, a nice marketing ploy).

I have the wireless version and they are great, this is a nice alternative for those who would like a wired headset, and a cheaper version too.

These look like a good alternative to the Elite controller.
I have the original Elite, I'd consider one of these before the new one right now.

Great news, just OS optimisations then.
After years of drastic iterations and constant tweaks the Xbox OS is very nice in general now, tbf I actually liked it along the way (although most didn't seem to), it just needed to get snappier, which it is.
I really enjoy the constant feature and QOL updates that we all benefit from too.

Wow, Cryengine is still kicking hardware's ass in 2021.

If they aren't specifying 4K then I can't see it being 4K, they would shout that from the rooftops, it's probably 1440p, which is fine with me.

To be honest 1080p is fine anyway. Looks good enough on my 55 inch LG C9.

As always, performance is the most important factor so they will have selected enough of an improvement to resolution to look a little nicer without any sacrifice to speed. Hopefully. Haha.

Res boost would be my choice of new features. Hoping for that.

If not it's probably XCloud streaming on the console.

I have actually had quite a laugh at the reviews for years now (like the Blood Waves reviewer who would rather take a dick in his mouth than play the game again, I spat my brew out as I read that one) but have also been totally perplexed as to how the heck MS have left them unmoderated all this time!

If they aren't going to moderate they should probably remove the review part and just keep the star system instead, but like I say, it's been YEARS! Haha

Four months is just fine, plenty long enough to complete this game. If a player likes the online part then they will buy it in one of the frequent sales.

I hope it doesn't return to be honest, game pass funds can be spent better elsewhere, maybe on hot up and coming indie games, or other big titles that most people don't already own.

I think MS added it to Gamepass to show on promotional material, 'look what we have!'
It's probably served that purpose well, buy yeah, don't bring it back.

Bought this on Xbox 360, I couldn't really get into it, tried again on Xbox One, same, I think this game is just not for me.

Third attempt? If the enhancements are excellent and it includes ports of the GTA 3/Vice City/San Andreas... Maybe.

Little details are nice in video games, it definitely looks nice in the COD game, but I wouldn't use precious CPU/GPU/memory resources for fruit if the budget is tight.

What I would say is that I would just change it so that one shot made the fruit explode, just jump straight to the existing animation, not after multiple shots, done.
I wouldn't spend any more time on it that that.

I also crashed on my way, for some reason I couldn't get the plane to go higher as I flew towards the mountain. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣
Will try again, I really need to do all the tutorials.

Its a sign of a good month when you already own 3 of the 4 games. Sigh.

I think they are a talented studio, but have mostly worked with other parties IP's, sure they have dabbled with their own IP's too, but they are not strong enough to merit a high value.

I think the purchase is solely based on the quality of their output, although it does seem to be strangely high.

I wish them good luck, I actually know someone who works for them, I hope that Tencent looks after them and gives them the freedom to create more of their own original stuff.

Turtle Beaches audio enhancements? Use them at the cost of losing proper Atmos/DTSX or Sonic? Nah, I'm good thanks.

Those two games were def 100% games with gold titles.
If you didn't claim them then maybe continue to sit tight, but in all honesty it's been so long since a sale that they don't look like they will be coming up for sale again soon.

As another poster has said, maybe just bite the bullet and buy them if you really want them.

I voted 2023, I think it will be with us for a short time yet.

The big question, if they can Gold, what happens to the games that we claimed?
I assume they will honour availability of them if you have a Gamepass sub, it's tricky as they aren't the same price, maybe more adjustment is required to get to the point of cancellation (yes, they've tried that already, but maybe a slower adjustment).

This article has reminded me that when I was in Japan for my honeymoon in 2019, amongst other cities I visited Osaka.

Osaka has a very impressive aquarium.
One of the attractions between tanks was a projection of fish on the floor that when you moved towards them they would swim away. Anyway, me being a techie I looked up curious as to how it worked.... it was an Xbox One Kinect!
I pointed this out to my wife, she didn't really share my wonder and surprise that an Xbox product (a massive flop in Japan) was being used to entertain thousands and thousands of visitors.

I had heard of people using them for various projects with a PC, but it was cool to see it in a commercial application in Japan.

To be fair, for all the hate it got, it was good tech, just maybe misused and miss-marketed.

This is a much loved franchise and I enjoyed the old games... But a lot of time has gone by and Forza Horizon has set the gold standard for open world driving games, can this compete? No chance. Could it still be fun? Maybe?

Always loved RoboCop (and the great 128k Spectrum game), so I'll play this for sure, all it needs to be is at least average and I'm in! ,🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

There's a lot of smart phones out there (billions?) and low end PCs/laptops that are now open to gaming via Gamepass/Xcloud.

If that market explodes like it could I think MS wouldn't care of they sold another Xbox again, which I wouldn't like to see, I will probably always want their box.

Really good to see MS studio games doing well.
It's awesome that you have a choice on how you play their games, Xbox console, cloud, windows store or steam.

This is truly why MS really don't care about console sales, sure they want it to sell well, but you can be a big paying customer of theirs and never own an Xbox.

All this and it's not even with a mention of Gamepass which again gives so much value and choice.

It's no coincidence that Sony are slowly coming round to making their games available on PC, it makes perfect sense. Talk of a game not being exclusive if it's a console a exclusive is just fanboy rubbish. Who cares?!

Enjoy your games, however you like to enjoy them. That's real gaming.

I think I've had one disc in my XSX and I got mine at launch. It would have been a BluRay movie, can't remember which one though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

As much as I like these limited edition consoles I have never bought one, I've always already owned the console already and not thought it worthwhile to sell mine and buy one.

That said I almost bought the Forza 6 one, that was a nice console and controller.

I voted September, I think before that is way too optimistic! At an absolute push August.

Anyway, I'd like every first person shooter and driving game that is 30fps boosted. Asking a lot, but they are the games that really benefit from 60fps+.

Forza Horizon 4 for me.

Although as much as Gamepass is a great deal I also purchased it.
I like to support games that I would have bought anyway *, and the Forza games have previously had license issues which have had them be removed from the store.

I hope that is not the case going forward, but it could be that it will be removed from Gamepass and the store in a couple of years time. Even if it is they always do deep sales on the games so everyone would have an opportunity to buy it anyway.

*I also own Crackdown 3, Ori and Gears.
I tend to play them on Gamepass and then purchase when on first or second sale.

Windows 10 has been a great OS, I've enjoyed using it over the time it has been available.

I will be taking the upgrade, no issues there.

I'm just wondering if we will see an Xbox dashboard update following this, there is sure to be some new design language and they like Xbox and PC share much of it.

That's ok, I'm still really looking forward to seeing the new Blinx, Conker and Sabreman games.

@blinx01 Yeah I agree, for a kids bedroom you could get a nice size 1080p TV instead, for flexibility just use a laptop and the app.

It's definitely a niche product, but one that has been around since the PS1 era so I have seen some people use them. It's also something not practical with a PS5 due to it's bulk, so it's a good feature for Xbox I guess.
Not for me though.
