After receiving a convoluted upgrade path earlier this month, Wreckfest still ran at at 30FPS on Xbox Series S. While it improved the visuals and performance, next-gen owners of the budget console were still lagging behind. Luckily, THQ Nordic has announced a new patch is live which boosts the game up to 60fps.
Via the game's Discord, the contents of the patch were revealed. Amongst the Xbox specific inclusions, it was noted Xbox Series S users can now experience the game at 60fps at 1080p. Other additions included increased performance on Xbox Series X and a couple of other small fixes.
XB1 & Xbox Series:
- Improved performance on Xbox Series S, now running at 1080p 60FPS.
- Improved performance on Series X.
- Fixed auto-download after upgrading to Xbox Series version.
- Fixed granting of bonus car DLC.
If you're yet to try Wreckfest, it's actually part of Xbox Game Pass - perfect for Xbox Series S users. Unfortunately, there's no elaboration on what the "improved performance" is, but we imagine it may be some visual tweaks and smaller improvements across the board. Nothing too major. At least Xbox Series S owners get a substantial upgrade now!
