Microsoft has added to its growing list of dynamic backgrounds for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with this latest version being called "Mercury" and adopting a wavy and slightly psychedelic quality as you can see below.
Here's a look at Xbox's Major Nelson showing off "Mercury" on Twitter yesterday:
The new background is available now, and as Nelson highlights, you can also use the View button to get access to a wider variety of colours if you want to. To find it, you'll need to head to Settings > Personalisation > My Background > Dynamic Backgrounds, and it should be located at the end of the row. There are loads of others to choose from, too!
Liking the look of the Mercury background? What's your favourite dynamic background so far? Tell us below.

Looks a bit like the last boss of Earthbound
Big early 70s Doctor Who vibes.
It's cool and all, but I'll be sticking with "The Original".
@Liam_Doolan My exact thoughts. It'll be hard to beat that one.
Love my og Xbox dynamic background..
Just switched it!
I completely forget about backgrounds still have the default on spend so little time in the dashboard 😅
I still prefer the sparkly star one, whatever it's called. It makes it feel like a PS3 that can actually play 7th gen games without stumbling and crashing and throwing smoke out the vent.
Ready Freddie!
(crazy little theme that one)
All well and good, even if a bit silly that they randomly drop one new one every so often, but I don't see myself ever getting rid of the OG Xbox one now.
