Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase 2023?

UltimateOtaku91

I rate the show an overall B

Il get the Negatives out the way first, for me it's underwhelming to see updates for existing live service games and we had 4 in this showcase (Overwatch 2, Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76 and Sea of Thieves) so they didn't wow me. Also I'm not interested in traditional racing games or any kind of simulator games so the trailers for Flight Simulator and Forza were also lost on me. The Persona Reveals we already knew about and I watched them two days ago so they lost the surprise factor for me. And although Fable was shown it wasn't what I was expecting and was in engine footage so will most likely look different on release, same with South of Midnight which I'm guessing is a monster hunter style multiplayer game (live service). One of my anticipated games in Avowed looked great gameplay wise but damn it looked so rough. And finally one of the biggest games from xbox that I'm looking forward to the most is State of Decay 3 and was not shown at all although it's been 4+ years since the second game was done.

Onto the Positives, Hellblade 2 is looking incredible and I can't wait to play it, man that opening few seconds though we're giving me the sweats as I'm claustrophobic. Starfield also looked incredible and I can't wait to play it, its basically no man's sky and mass effect but better, definitely day one for me. Clockwork was a great surprise and I can tell its heavily influenced by Bioshock which is great. The third party multiplatform reveals were also pretty decent including the indies show, Star Wars Outlaws is looking to be Ubisofts best game in a very long time and the fact its open world is a plus, That Capcom game looked sick, their output lately is incredible, and even though I won't be playing on it on xbox that new Atlus game looks amazing and is refreshing to see them do something other than Persona/SMT games. The Cyberpunk DLC looked great also although I'm very cautious on that as we all know how the main game turned out.

Overall though it was a great show and definitely the best out the bunch, but yeah the negatives for me personally bring the score down quite a bit especially with some big games lacking gameplay footage. Also a bit lacking on release dates, all I got form that show is that over the next 12 months they only have Starfield and Forza for definite.

Re: Poll: How High Are Your Expectations For Sunday's Xbox Showcase?

UltimateOtaku91

My expectations are realistic so I don't think il be disappointed or wowed tbh, in terms of exclusives I'm only interested in Avowed, Fable, State of Decay and Hellblade. In terms of Starfield I do want to play it but for me it's going to be the same formula of fallout/elder scrolls but in space and I've never competed a fallout or elder scrolls game as I lose interest so I could see the same happening with starfield, Forza Motorsport I have no interest in as I don't like the traditional racing games, Halo I have no interest in, any older JRPG's coming to xbox I have no interest in as I've already played them elsewhere, any new third party multiplatform announcements like the persona games would be great (apart from them as the surprise was ruined, I also think a Borderlands 4 reveal would be awesome and it's been a long time coming.

I would be interested in a Gears of war collection though or a Re-core sequel. I'm also hopeful of a brand new IP from Xbox, and lastly of they announce The Evil Within 3 then I'd be overjoyed with that.

Overall I think the show will be a B Rating.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 10-11)

UltimateOtaku91

On PS5 i will be playing Potion Permit which so far I'm quite enjoying more than I thought I would. I will also be playing Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen again as I never got round to doing the Arisen content when I first completed the game.

On Switch I'm giving Zelda a rest this weekend so instead I will be playing Bayonetta Origins which I hope to complete today, such an underrated game. I will also be playing Splatoon 3 as there's a new Big Run event starting today. And finally I may start Shin Megami Tensei 5 as all the Persona news lately has got me itching to play and SMT is the next best thing to it.

On Xbox I will continue with Hi-Fi Rush and look forward to their showcase.

Re: Reaction: Xbox Is Set Up For A Winning Showcase After Summer Game Fest 2023

UltimateOtaku91

@Somebody Sony's showcase was a weird one, why did they let the spiderman release date reveal and FF7 P2 reveal be shown elsewhere. It's like they rushed it together just to have atleast something show during this gaming show period, hence why I believe they will have another showcase towards the end of the year. Also I think Xbox should follow PlayStation and Nintendo in doing smaller digital directs throughout the year, especially to show off gamepass additions instead of just saying "X" game is coming next month etc.

Has it been confirmed Nintendo won't be having a direct this month?

Edit: Nintendo may be having one afterall.

I was waiting for it to come to gamepass but after seeing the reviews and gameplay on YouTube I now know I can't wait that long lol so I will hopefully be getting it this Friday.

Does anyone know if you play couch co op do both players get trophies/achievements? As I want to play co op with my partner but only if she can get trophies as well for her account whilst we play the game on my account.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 3-4)

UltimateOtaku91

On PS5 i will be trying to complete God of War Ragnarok according to my console it's says I'm 88% done so not long left now. I will also be playing some Humanity which is fun but also challenging especially if you want all those goldies.

On Switch it will be some more Zelda TOTK, Bayonetta Origins and Splatoon 3. Been playing splatoon a lot lately and it's starting to get to me now that they only rotate the stages evey two hours, with how fast matches are in this game playing the same two maps for two hours does get boring.

On Xbox I will playing some more Phoenix Point and Hi-Fi Rush

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Plans For The Xbox Games Showcase 2023?

UltimateOtaku91

I will most likely be watching on my phone or tablet, I'm quite looking forward to see what first party titles are going to be shown, After the last two shows from xbox which were disappointing I'm expecting this one to be something special and for them to go all out with a lot of first party announcements, reveals and gameplay trailers.

Personally I'm hoping to see some State of Decay 3 and Avvowed.

Re: These Seven Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (June 1-13)

@BAMozzy Tbh I was looking at the ROG as well but was slightly more than budget right now but within the next 12 months I will definitely get one as like you I want to play games natively and not always over WiFi.

The reason I went for the G Cloud right now was because I wanted a bigger screen for handheld, the backbone one was good but because it needed a mobile phone the resolution was fixed at 720p which isn't the best especially when on mobile using xcloud cutss off some of the screen on the edges smdue to the aspect ratio, so games didn't look the best, and then as I have big hands the smaller controller part made it hard to play shooters (they are smaller than switch joy con's).

But the G Cloud has a 7 inch screen with a perfect aspect ratio for fullscreen cloud gaming and is 1080p, plus I can use it for playstation remote play and geforce now which I'm very interested in trying. And I believe I can use it as a normal tablet as well since it has Google play built in which I will use for watching anime etc. So for right now it was my best option based on my budget.

But I am interested to hear your feedback on the ROG once you get it, it looks sleeker than the bulky steam deck and doesn't have the touch pad which I would never use.

Re: These Seven Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (June 1-13)

UltimateOtaku91

@mousieone I did see you online the other day playing that game and I did click to see what it was about, I may give it a try when my new handheld comes tomorrow.

And yes rune factory 4 is a definite reccomendation, I wonder if rune factory 5 will also make it's over at some point as well. I've got in on switch but the performance is shocking.

Re: Xbox Games With Gold For June 2023 Announced

UltimateOtaku91

I honestly dont get why they are continuing with this service, put some effort into it and include some bigger games, they have the money to. It's like they are making it as poor as possible on purpose to push people to get gamepass ultimate instead.

Sony and Microsoft should just offer a basic subscription that's just for online play like nintendo do.

Re: These Seven Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (June 1-13)

UltimateOtaku91

I'm hoping there's some more bigger games coming this month especially after the showcase, just bought the Logitech G Cloud handheld as well purely for gamepass so I'm hoping to get a good chunk of playtime on it in June but not much is catching my eye right now, I have started ravenlok and redfall so I may continue with those, may give Amnesia a try but im not the best at the sneaky horror games, give me a weapon and I'm fine though 😅

Re: Talking Point: What 'Dream' Reveal Would You Like To See At The Xbox Games Showcase 2023?

UltimateOtaku91

For Xbox exclusive I'm going with state of decay 3, the 2nd game was so much fun and I love apocalyptic games with freedom and state of decay 2 was the best at that. Also a Gears of War collection that brings the series on par with Gears of war ultimate edition, I want to get into the series but after completing ultimate last year I can't go back to older graphics of 2-3.

For multiplatform I'm hoping to see Persona 6 reveal although very unlikely due to the rumours, persona 3 remake I have no interest in as how many times do they want us to play that game, I've played the original, then portable on psp and then they put it on the latest consoles earlier this year.

Re: Stop The Presses, Square Enix Just Announced A New Game For Xbox

UltimateOtaku91

And for those moaning about square games skipping xbox then this is your time to prove a point, go and support the game and show square enix that xbox players do indeed play JRPG's, and not show negativity such as saying only 100 xbox players will play it, it's things like that that make people think xbox players in general don't like Japanese games.

Re: Rockstar Is Seeking 'Nothing Short Of Perfection' With GTA 6

UltimateOtaku91

@Kaloudz this was from a year ago but still this is why they won't kill off the current GTA online

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sportskeeda.com/amp/gta/gta-5-much-money-game-made-till-now

"GTA Online rakes in about $800 million yearly from Shark Cards alone. The new subscription model also provides great deals on Shark Cards, so the sales potential is rising. Since the game got ported to the next-gen consoles, many new players have joined the game. Digital revenue from the game accounted for 88% percent of Take-Two Interactive's earnings in the last quarter"

Re: Rockstar Is Seeking 'Nothing Short Of Perfection' With GTA 6

UltimateOtaku91

@Kaloudz I think they may have to either not make a brand new GTA online or just update the graphics of the current online mode, similar to what fortnite did with the new console versions.

Otherwise they will have GTA online and GTA 6 online which I can't see them doing, and they won't want to shut down the current one whilst it's still raking in the money.
