Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal Approved By South Korean FTC

The Asian nation of South Korea is the latest to unconditionally approve Xbox's Activision Blizzard merger, as announced by the country's Federal Trade Commission on May 30th.

The South Korean FTC says that it sees no issue with the deal going ahead, ultimately determining that there would be "no risk of substantially restricting competition in the domestic game market" after the deal closes.

This marks another positive step for Xbox's potential acquisition, following the huge leap gained by Microsoft when the EU approved the planned merger earlier this month. The European Commission required certain conditions to be met, but was ultimately satisfied that the deal was fit to go ahead.

All eyes remain on the US FTC and the UK CMA at the moment, with the former filing a lawsuit late last year and the latter ultimately blocking the deal last month - although Microsoft will fight against both of those decisions in the coming weeks and months.

Do you still reckon we're on for this deal eventually passing? Leave your thoughts down below.
