Diablo 4 is now available to everyone, and Blizzard has already shared some rather exciting news - revealing the title is officially the fastest-selling game the company has ever released.
The celebrations didn't end there, either - with Xbox also confirming it is the "fastest-selling" Blizzard game on Xbox ever. Xbox Boss Phil Spencer has even chimed in to congratulate the team:
"Congrats to @RodFergusson @Qwik and the entire team at @Blizzard_Ent , amazing success. #DiabloIV"
Diablo franchise manager Rod Fergusson also mentioned how proud he was of the accomplishment (via social media):
"As I keep saying, I am extremely proud of this team and this game. What an accomplishment! A big thank you to all of our players for their time, dedication and feedback. This is just the beginning for #DiabloIV and we're very grateful to have you along with us on this journey."
Just yesterday, Xbox and Blizzard added a new Lilith-themed dynamic background for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S owners. You can see it in motion in our previous post:

Soon to be Microsofts, and hopefully on gamepass. Unless you live here in the UK. In which case, might move to new Zealand
Also I know its not related but I like this website a lot. This, Pushsquare and NintendoLife are really cool, but to be honest, Purexbox is a tad cooler haha. It is a shame you get agents of negativity on here, but then I guess all they really succeed in doing is reminding us how much we enjoy xbox =)
Now I'll say something on topic so I don't break the rules. It's really cool when Phil praises other games, shows he's above the console drama and simply loves games. I can't wait to play diabo on gamepass =)
@Zoidpilot4 or use other store... I use brazil store and I'm in Africa lol
@TakeItEasy oh wow great idea =)
@Kaloudz Yep for sure,
What most people don't realize is the money ABK has in their treasure chest:
'Activision Blizzard cash on hand for the quarter ending March 31, 2023 was $12.516B'
And with Diablo IV out , this will only increase....
If MSFT closes the deal the eyewatering '$68.7B' sale immediately gets discounted to at least 56.2 billion.
They said it's the fastest selling but didn't release any actual sales numbers yet. :/
@Zoidpilot4 glad to have you on here buddy, I see you're a new member. I hope you stay on for a long while. Nothing wrong with more positivity.
Soonâ„¢ basically
@Scummbuddy they stated hours played and how they match 24 hours a day since the start of human civilization. Basically, they already approaching sales reports The Microsoft Way. 🙃
I was waiting for it to come to gamepass but after seeing the reviews and gameplay on YouTube I now know I can't wait that long lol so I will hopefully be getting it this Friday.
Does anyone know if you play couch co op do both players get trophies/achievements? As I want to play co op with my partner but only if she can get trophies as well for her account whilst we play the game on my account.
@UltimateOtaku91 yes, couch co-op and both get trophies and progress. Plus the 15% xp boost for being in a party and being close to each other.
@Hexamex-Tex Brilliant, will definitely be getting it this Friday then, very rare a game gets proper couch co op done like this so it's been a while since we last played a game together so should be fun.
@Scummbuddy exactly. These "fastest selling" things are just companies tooting horns when they don't release sales data. It is all a huge joke really. Are they really expecting us to believe it sold faster than say, CoD? Really?
@InterceptorAlpha They've said fastest selling Blizzard game, not fastest selling ABK game. It's an impressive feat even if it isn't ouselling CoD.
@Cherip-the-Ripper thanks and hahaha that picture sums it up nicely haha
@Jenkinss Is it though? If the goal post is there...Blizzard kinda doesn't do releases a lot. Remake of Diablo 2 aside: Their last sold game was Overwatch(a new IP), from 2016.
Prior to that was was the abysmal Diablo 3 from 2012. Then Starcraft 2, a PC exclusive in 2010. Then World of Warcraft, another PC exclusive, from 2004.
Was always the best part about them TBH.
@InterceptorAlpha "Is it though?"
Yes. Unequivocally yes. We're talking sales. Go look up the top selling PC games of all time and nearly every Blizzard game is on the list.
Blizzard games are some of the best selling games of all time and now this is the fastest selling of them. Given that this is on consoles and not just PC from launch, and it's a live service with 2 expansions in development, it's set to be their highest overall selling when it's all said and done, too. This is very impressive. Anyone trying to downplay this looks silly right now.
@Jenkinss You're comparing a game that is releasing on an unprecedented number of platforms, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, and PC to games that were not only limited to a reduced number of platforms, but also limited by distribution methods and internet service of the time of the time. Anyone failing to take this in to account is looking silly. Especially people that are a stanning for a company that doesn't even know they exist.
@InterceptorAlpha Brother, why are you trying to downplay the biggest launch in the history of one of the biggest developers in video game history? What's the angle? I'm uncomfortable reading this, did Blizzard or Diablo do something to you personally?
Do you think acknowledging the sales of a product is "stanning?" (whatever that means, I'm old)
@InterceptorAlpha What the heck are you talking/arguing about? They made a great game and millions are buying it. Relax.
@Kaloudz it's kind of hard to escape when you have to sit on the floor to play games because the couch hurts your back after a few minutes 🤣👴
Congrats, hope to see it (and the rest of your games) on Game Pass in the near future.
