You may recall that the Xbox Games Showcase 2022 was focused around games that were intended to release within the 12 months following that show, but as expected, a few of them ended up missing the window.
Inspired by our friends at The Loadout, we thought we'd put together a list of Xbox games from the show that haven't launched yet, complete with details about each. And by the way, this isn't meant as a criticism — we were always expecting a few titles to get delays, and we're hoping they might show up at the 2023 Xbox Showcase this weekend.
Without further ado, here are 14 games from last year's Xbox Showcase that have yet to release. All of them are scheduled to be coming to Xbox Game Pass and/or PC Game Pass when they finally arrive.

It’s my fault for buying into the hype, I waited in line outside GameStop for 3 hours for what? A halo game I’m never gonna play and a ridiculous amount of pixel games my snes could handle . Never been more disappointed in a console.
How, I got my Xbox is not the point. the point is I payed $499 for a fast snes.
Dark Tide is such a joke
@Adol-Bannings Never heard of ordering online?
For reference, how many were shown? Was it the full 50 in the other article (in which case 14 isn't bad) or much less?
Stalker definitely has a reason, the others probably shouldn't have been included if the "next 12 months" wasn't guaranteed - but at least they're dropping that promise for this show.
I'm ignoring all hype and suggestions, going in with low expectations in the hope I'll be pleasantly surprised
There’s a couple games that have been announced or delayed which I have been looking forward to and still don’t know when they’re going to be released.
@Widey85 This graphic was part of the showcase, but if you mean individual glimpses at each of the games, it definitely wasn't all 50.

If we're honest, Party Animals is the only one on this list that hurts.....
@Trmn8r @Adol-Bannings or COVID? No way was I queueing outside surrounded by other people in November 2020 🤣
A really love it or hate it listing… mostly love
@Trmn8r ya know I never thought of that, Xbox series x and ps5 were so plentiful they were basically giving them away. Oh wait actually there was a chip shortage and if I bought online I would have paid 2-3 times mrsp
@Adol-Bannings if only there was a way to order things online that haven't been released yet? 🤔
Yeah, I mean, I don't regret getting the Series X on the day it came out. Played hundreds of games, maybe more? But I can see why people are angry. I got it thinking I'd be playing Halo, then that got delayed, and then I refrained from getting a PS5 because I was told Starfield was coming out, then that got delayed, and delayed again. I guess it's good it did because I got my PS5 and I love it, but Xbox is my main console, but it is feeling a bit....like a lie, if that make sense. A promise that never comes true, and when it does, you get Redfall....I'm not fussy, I'm farily easily impressed, and I'll give any game a good chance, but c'mon Microsoft, enough with the emtpy promises. Get the ball rolling.
That said, once they do start firing out the games, I bet Gamepass with grow, but the consoles will take a lot of time, yet those who wish Xbox to fail will only focus on the console sales. Shame. Especially considering Xbox has never dominated on the console sales front, but it is smashing it with Gamepass. I guess that's why Sony is out for Xbox blood.
But yeah, let's see what happens. Hopefully we get more honesty, more reliable dates, and more games in this up coming showcase.
@Adol-Bannings I got mine from the shop, too. Pre-ordered it then went to get it. I get what you mean. Shortages made it hard, the hype was exciting, but then both consoles (Xbox more so) didn't deliver as much as they promised.
It's odd though, I think this year and next we're gonna see the tables turn. Xbox will have releases, Playstation will have less to offer. Maybe. Probably not, but maybe haha
Forza and Stalker are the ones I'm most interested in. Starfield I'm sure will be great but games Todd Howard's team makes have never clicked with me. Be cool if this one changes that. Hollow Knight seems but another one I'm not sure would be for me. The other games all look mediocre at best.
@Adol-Bannings I got one by waiting in a Target online queue for 20 mins ;P
@FraserG Thanks, so roughly half didn't make the 12 months - can see why they're not sticking to that again!
I'll be happy with Forza and Starfield, anything else is a bonus - low expectations I think are the key to happiness as an Xbox gamer for now lol
@Adol-Bannings To get one on release day you must of pre ordered it due to stock issues, so surely they gave you the option to have it delivered when you placed the order? Unless gamestop don't do deliveries I honestly don't know.
@Adol-Bannings I got both consoles online and paid MSRP within 6 months of launch. Got series X through gamestop using all access and a PS5 through Walmart using Twitter to watch drops. Maybe the misery you suffer is your own doing.
@UltimateOtaku91 I ordered my series X through gamestop using all access and they delivered it to my doorstep within 2 days.
I got my Xbox Series X “day one” (actually arrived a week late) and I have zero regrets. Mind you, I don’t have an obsession with every console giving me platform exclusives. Series X has become my platform of choice for all third party games thanks to cloud saves, smart delivery, quick resume and the controller, among other things like Game Pass.
As soon as I got that Series X, I started playing Assassins Creed Valhalla and didn’t put it down until I was done with it about a month later, then grabbed Yakuza Like a Dragon, and have been basically playing primarily on that device since then.
Even last gen I was primarily playing multiplat games, only I was doing so on my PS4.
Personally, exclusives only matter in two cases in my mind:
A) You can only afford one console and want to buy the one with the most appealing exclusives
B) You want to justify that second console
In my case, I barely play my PS5, but I would likely not have it all if it was not because of first party exclusives.
I don’t mind games not making it at release, but I wish publishers would start being upfront about release dates and delays. The lack of transparency is frustrating for those of us that are pretty much playing games as they release and have limited time.
Outside the obvious with Starfield, Stalker, and Silksong, I’m looking forward to seeing something about Replaced. It looks like it could be the retro game that scratches that indie itch. Curious if Cocoon will deliver or be a disappointment like that other game made by members of the Inside team.
Hurry up Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
@Widey85 The games in the showcase and on the Xbox infographic don't quite match up (e.g. Silksong was never on the Infographic which was one reason people always questioned the launch window).
But for the infographic alone by my count 39 of 50 have released, nearly 80%. Personally I think that is pretty good. The reality is games slip, usually for good reasons, around 80% is a good conversion imho. (edit it's 38 not 39)
The trouble is the games that didn't make it were some of their biggest first party titles like Starfield, Forza and a few other big ones like Stalker 2 (along with Replaced... understandably due to the ongoing war in Ukraine) and Ark 2. Had those larger titles hit instead of some of the others I think people would see it as more of a success.
@Tharsman Having Cloud saves as part of an account has been fantastic on Xbox.
I was having problems a while ago with Uncharted 4 not properly patching on my PS4 Pro: it would fail on like the last 10% or so of the patch.
Without even thinking, I just did a total system restore of the system (I hadn't had a PS+ subscription in like 8 months) and I lost a ton of save files: Final Fantasy VII Remake, Death Stranding, God of War - just to name a few.
I had been so used to using Xbox and having Cloud saves just exist that I didn't even think about the fact I hadn't had a PS+ subscription in a while to back things up.
I was almost in tears when it finally occurred to me what I had done - especially when the system restore still didn't fix the patching problem so it was all in vain.
I had to use my laptop as a Proxy server to connect to some PS Store mirror in order for the patch to finish.
The silver lining to it all is that it did give me an excuse to replay some of the games using the PS5 when I finally acquired one (especially those games that got their own PS5 native version or boosts using the PS5).
@FraserG My impression was that the 50 games in this graphic were targeted for the next 12 months (as it states at the top and bottom). You'll see that Hollow Knight is explicitly NOT shown on this graphic, yet people continually list it among the games that missed the 12 month target. That said, The developer did recently come out and say the game was delayed again, so... who knows.
But yeah, bottom line: Silksong was shown at the show, but they left it off this 12 month graphic, even though it was one of the biggest games of the show. I think it should be noted, or given an asterisk, in these stories.
@themightyant Yeah I actually enjoyed last year's show, and they've not done badly this year - it's more that not much at all came in the last 6 months of 2022 so it felt a bit light.
I think they really have to knock it out of the ballpark this time, as there's been WAY too many years we've gone "OK next year will be the year", but I'm keeping my own expectations low and will be happy to see anything more than Forza and Starfield as they're on my wishlist for this year (with Avowed and Fable on my longer wait list)
Removed - trolling/baiting
@Jenkinss Good spot, I hadn't noticed that it wasn't on the graphic! I had another look into it, and apparently it was targeting the 12 month window anyway.
""Hey gang, just a quick update about Silksong. We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing."
https://www.purexbox.com/news/2023/05/game-pass-title-hollow-knight-silksong-has-been-delayed
@FraserG Yeah, that's the exact recent developer update that I mentioned that muddies the water.
Would love to get a release date for Silksong .
Im not a hater, I say tons of nice and constructive things on Nintendo life, I’m just pissed I just feel burned by Xbox and I express it in the comments on an Xbox site. I’m a terrible person you got me.
I like the look of Ara. It'll fill the gap left by Humankind's no show on xbox. Looks like I'll be firing up thd PC and giving the series X a well deserved rest. I just wish they'd port Rise of Nations to x box... It did briefly appear in the store with the "not avaliable" thing where price should be. So I live in hope of that happening
@NEStalgia I feel the same way.
@Adol-Bannings Poor you, if only triple A multiplatform games existed... Alas, you are reduced to playing SNES.
Not meant as criticism? Lol why the disclaimer? They should be criticised… it was a complete disaster for them - a showcase confidently boasting a message of “everything here today will be released within the next 12 months”…as a response to redfall and starfield getting delayed and Xbox AAA having sweet FA to offer their subscription buyers last year. Which gathered more criticism because of ALL THE OTHER GAMES THAT STILL ARENT OUT that they showed years ago at showcases (do an article on all those).
Xbox had 3 first party AAA games in last years show…just 3. Out of those, ALL had been shown before…2 had originally been planned to release in a matter of months. Since the show only 1 of those 3 has hit that 12 month window promise…and that was released unfinished. And one still doesn’t have a date.
On Thursday we’ll applaud them for showing starfield and Forza yet again.
Xbox need the criticism because gamers have too short a memory and xbox never learn…we’re all destined to repeat the same cycles.
lol at more jpegs of up coming games…..
“50 games coming” all filler no killer….
Even the killers have turned out to be filler….
Some awesome custom controllers though….
I hope it’s a great showcase and I hope we get some big solo player games. I hope we don’t have desperate looking JPEG’s putting a spin on it after and everyone is genuinely hyped. That would be nice. The faux hype by some is exhausting
@Adol-Bannings Just take the L my dude
@Adol-Bannings Dude, I would really love to argue with you on this, but I can't. Fact is that you're right. I'm still waiting for my new Xbox to WOW me.
Sony oversells their consoles too, I’m still amused by that duck demo used to promote the PS3!

@Zoidpilot4
"guess it's good it did because I got my PS5 and I love it, but Xbox is my main console, but it is feeling a bit....like a lie, if that make sense."
It does, that's actually a wonderful way to describe it.
I'm a playstation guy 1st, but I was over the moon when I snagged a Series X. I couldn't wait to play Halo Infinite.... it wasn't bad, but hugely underwhelming. No biggie, because there are some great games coming.... okay well eventually.....Redfall( I'm a FarCry junkie) sounds like a blast and........ I figured at least 3rd party will run better, beefier system right? Wait what the heck?
I actually unplugged it after the Redfall mess, I'm extremely bummed out
