@NEStalgia these conference calls are speaking to investors so words like nft, metaverse is big buzz words they like to hear . It's ***** but it's words they can be like oh meta verse = big revenue..
But yeah king was flearly a big drive to way they bought aftivision as honestly outside of a ton of dormant ips the rest work on wow and cod.. with the hope some day we get diablo 4...

@InterceptorAlpha sorry your having issues guess we just had different experiences.
As said I'm at 60+ hours in mp playing a few hours daily and have only ran into a issue where we had to reboot the game as gave a weird server cycle error when trying to load a list.
My experience with halo 2 a week after launch was sword lunges ruining the game and also the entire pull Ethernet cable put back in ever 2nd match where it would just have you sit there while the one guy who pulled the cable killed you/stole the flag so once it resyncee you just died or it insta scored on you.
So sorry I know issues have been reported but like alot of things it can be kinda blown out of proportion, and I guess it's just my mentalty for cheating it's invitiable anymore battleflied 2042 and cod had cheats up before the betas where over. (I also maybe have run into a cheater that I can 100% confirm like 2 times)
so maybe our experiences are different or what you consider a buggy is just at ends,

I'm curious what's broken or buggy in mp, as I have put around 60 hours into mp and the only thing I have run into the rare I go for a back smack or punch and it kinda goes through the player. It also appears many forgot all the glitch's and bugs we have had with other halos (I'm looking at halo 2 when it launched) that at times game was unplayable due to every player glitching or using an exploit

On topic I am not sure what true "fans" want from 343 or Ms for this. As someone who considers himself a diehard halo fan I am a bit confused

I assumed when we knew it was going f2p we knew this meant some odd 10.00 skins people would wear. And honestly we should all be fine with this, who cares if someone is wearing cat ears it supports the game you wanna play no one is forcing it on your character.

@somnambulance that's my problem with them tweeting saying big media is ignoring it. They are dropping a metroidvania.. within the launch window is Metroid.. I wonder where they are gonna put there resources, and even for a gamepass game. It's in with back 4 blood and the battlefield beta so just for free time to sink into something this isn't close to the top of my list, but I will get to it eventually.
My rant is more releasing a indie game (even with gamepass) at this timeframe in that genre would also play second or third fiddle to other games

@themightyant hahaha no worries it's hard sometimes to type and get the same tone as you mean.

But yeah it is really hard to know I just took this as hey we are trying to make the best game and need top tier talent.
Also isn't the initative in around Santa Monica so maybe recruiting is not going as well as they thought with how many studios are demanding talent.

@themightyant i do agree it is not common for a studio the size of cd to do support work or have it this public to do so.
this could easily be due to how badly avengers did and square not wanting to finance another 100+ million dollar game. Or as Jeff Grubb said on Grubb snax (not about this specific instance) everyone is looking for people to assist in game development and all support studios has multiply projects lined up. So my guess Microsoft opened there wallet to get a bigger studio to help with support

@Tharsman most likely never asxbox had the xbla symphony of the night up and Konami doesn't see a reason to port it when alot of potential sales will just see that and go well I have symphony already.
Same reason we didn't get the "upgraded" ports Of Kotor, Republic commando from asypr with the bc verisons no reason to rerelease

@Cherip-the-Ripper no large project is made by one studio. This is pretty common the only difference is they are just publicly announcing it.
Give you an idea last of Us 2 took 14 studios to make
God of war was around 9-10 studios
Halo infinite has around 7 ish that I know of
And don't even look at call of duty, assassin's Creed games as each of those has like 15+

@Stocksy so yes if Xbox goes and acquired take two I agree it isn't good business. But currently something like Ubisoft could use a management shift with all the bs happening over there every week is a new story of some shady stuff.

I will say I know alot of people hate on the Bethesda deal but once I learned that it was one of the reasons arkane studio and that mobile team stay open (Bethesda was going to shutter some teams) I am happy they bought them.

@OliverOwen and totally and agree if I have a controller handy 1000000% going to that but there have been a few times. Where I'm Bed or doing a favor for someone and idling in the car where I am just like what's on touch controls and grabbed a session for 20-60 mins it's not my idle way but it works enough especially with Jrpgs/turned based games I actually only played ikenfell, dark crystal this way and may do cristales as well

I didn't respond as I feel yes and no.
Yes sure they are missing out by not having an exclusive one. But they only gave so many studios and trying to find one to specialize in making a great superhero game would not be an easy task.
So unless they buy Rocksteady (also securing a DC license to make games). I dont think there is a easy fix to just make a super hero game

@Stocksy from what we heard the rumblings of the Bethesda deal saved alot of jobs. As one of arhkan studios was gonna be closed. And a bunch of jobs cuts.
It's one of the reason they were signing exclusivity deals on games like ghost wire and deathloop.

And good for the studio seems mostly worked on psvr with one title being converted to a non vr game. Hope the studio does well

@NEStalgia I heard the os issue was not the best on PlayStation. And hard to say what exactly happened maybe the lead programmer for the os said we got this by xx date and really didn't take into account xx factors.
But I do agree this launch feels odd like neither really have any big exclusives, and most are like wait unt next year but even then. I feel both are light

@NEStalgia I would say they were ready as the base PS4 and Xbox one were under powered at launch and were causing issues in development.

I love how people use quake as an example of why games will still hit ps5. Like nightdive studios did the bulk work for quake and were already paid to do a PlayStation. Verison and that's what part of the finish contractual obligations comes from.
