Following its appearance at the Nintendo Direct last night, Castlevania Advance Collection has shadow dropped onto Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S after becoming the worst kept secret for the past few months.
Listed on the Microsoft Store for £15.99 / $19.99, the collection comes bundled with four classic games, complete with the ability to rewind each title, along with saving wherever you want. There's even a music player, encyclopedia and gallery to relive all your favourite moments.
Here are the four titles which will be included in the collection:
- Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
- Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
- Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
- Castlevania: Dracula X
It's fantastic to see these come to Xbox, allowing players to check out this classic collection of games for a fairly low price. And yes, there's also an achievement list to sink your teeth into! We know what we're doing this weekend...

This was actually well hidden since yesterday afternoon.
Good… so when is Xbox and Switch going to get the Requiem collection that includes Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood? Why is that only available on PlayStation?
@Tharsman most likely never asxbox had the xbla symphony of the night up and Konami doesn't see a reason to port it when alot of potential sales will just see that and go well I have symphony already.
Same reason we didn't get the "upgraded" ports Of Kotor, Republic commando from asypr with the bc verisons no reason to rerelease
I want it.
Waiting for sale.
I'm cheap.
@Tharsman Well, Sony apparently invested in the development of that port, so it's most likely staying Playstation-exclusive forever. They pretty much came out and said to never expect the collection on other platforms. Probably also worth mentioning they're based on the Dracula X Chronicles versions of those games, which means SOTN has the revised script from the PSP version.
The lack of Rondo sucks, since it's probably the best game in the series, but at least Xbox owners should still have access to SOTN. Switch owners are sol in that regard, unfortunately.
@Ralizah one day SOTN will be on Switch. One day. They could just port the mobile version of the game
This will be a collection I will be picking up on Switch. It just feels right playing the 4 Castlevania games that originally released on Nintendo hardware on Nintendo Switch
Snagging this one soon, I loved all the GBA and DS Castlevania games. Only real bummer is not seeing Dawn of Sorrow included. I know its a DS game, but you really only get the first half of the story with Aria of Sorrow that gets completed with Dawn.
Purchased it this morning, having a blast replaying Circle of the Moon
Nice!
Question, are these particular games level based or more like symphony? Back tracking and unlocking new areas etc
@Terrin That has nothing. To do with it. Sony funded that collection so of course it's going to be a Sony exclusive.
@Tasuki sorry I wasn't aware they funded the game. As most collections/ recently due to the BC program are skipping Xbox on some re-release packages
@Terrin I honestly thought the same thing till I read that Sony funded that collection then it made sense why that collection was appearing on any other console.
@Hippy_Pirate_89 Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow are so called ”Metroidvanias”, like Symphony of the Night. Dracula X is level based.
@JoakimZ Awesome, thanks for the information!
Picked it up straightaway. Never sleep on anything Castlevania
@Ralizah Isn't Dracula X similar to Rondo of Blood? I haven't played them so not sure.
@BlueOcean well Dracula X is more of a reimagining of Rondo of Blood.
When comparing Rondo to Dracula X, it’s painfully clear that Rondo is in fact superior considering the advance collection is using the SNES version of Dracula X. Dracula X is still not bad though
They play better on the MiSTER. 1:1. no emulation bullcrap.
@anoyonmus Thank you 😊.
@BlueOcean It's a remake of Rondo for the SNES that removes a significant amount of atmosphere, branching paths, the extra protagonist, has almost no cutscenes, etc.
It's not a bad game, for sure, but Rondo is a masterpiece.
@BlueOcean no problem, you are welcome by the way
@anoyonmus @Ralizah @BlueOcean
Fun fact: In Japan, Rondo is called Dracula X, and Dracula X is called Dracula XX.
@JoakimZ So a new-gen remaster or remake would be Dracula XXX?
@BlueOcean yeah it would
@anoyonmus @JoakimZ 😂
