Welcome to the weekend! There's plenty to keep you busy on Xbox over the next couple of days, including multiple new Xbox Game Pass titles, some great Free Play Days offerings, the arrival of Dead Island 2 and many other great new releases, and over 200 new deals including as part of this week's Xbox Store sales.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

It was a lazy Thursday evening of boredom earlier this week in which I decided to hit the "Buy" button on Disney Speedstorm. The gameplay is very fun (and addictive) so far, but I'm also a bit worried about the structure around it... you can definitely tell that it's going to become a free-to-play game eventually. That said, I've been playing it non-stop over the past few days, and it's definitely going to be my main game of choice this weekend.
I'm also back in the mood for some Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy lately on Xbox, which was removed from Xbox Game Pass a few weeks ago, but I immediately went out and bought a physical copy as I've been enjoying it so much. I'm not actually a big Marvel fan in general, but this game is definitely worth trying regardless.
Have a good weekend, folks!

I am absolutely, definitely, categorically going to jump back into Resident Evil 4 this weekend. After life events and extensive hands-on time with Dead Island 2 got in the way, Resi got put on the back burner, but I'm determined to get stuck back into Leon's shiny remade adventure this week.
Elsewhere, I've been back into Gears of War 3 multiplayer lately because I just can't let go. Yes it's almost 12 years old now, but the game is still fantastic and FPS Boost has made it a much more playable experience in 2023. Gears 3 for life!!
Have a jolly weekend, all.

Ahoy PX Folks! This weekend I’m going to slay the undead masses, then once I’m done, I’ll take a shower and sit down in my living room to play Dead Island 2. Fraser called me out today, saying I’m going to spend my weekend sucking at Disney Speedstorm and y’know what? He’s not wrong… I do suck at it, BUT I plan on gettin’ gud, so watch this space. Belle and I are going to tear up the tarmac Disney Princess style!
Happy gaming and have a lovely weekend!

On PS5 i have just started God of War Ragnarok and oh man I don't think I've ever played a game with a better first hour. I will also be playing some more Atelier Ryza 3 and Ghost of Tsushima DLC
On switch I will be continuing with Harvestella and will be starting Bayonetta Origins, I'm hoping to get these two done before Zelda comes out.
On xbox ive decided to drop Atomic Heart so I can focus on getting Ghostwire Tokyo done, it's a pretty decent game and via streaming im not really seeing any performance issues, I may also give Minecraft Legends a try as its giving me Pikmin vibes.
@Clankylad Enjoy! S1 is definitely my favourite, but S2 is really good as well, as is S4. The third isn't bad either, but not quite on the same level as the others in my opinion.
I really wish I could experience that whole series again from scratch, loved it!
@Clankylad I really enjoyed the walking dead games, still have the last one to complete....i think it's been added to gamepass a few months ago? But yeah a lot of achievements and a fantastic story.
Getting in to Ghostwire Tokyo on gamepass. Really enjoying it so far. Hope to finish it up this weekend
Today is my birthday, so this weekend my me and my wife are going out of town for celebration. We have all sorts of activities lined up — all thanks to her wonderful planning. It’s safe to say I won’t be playing any video games.
Shockingly, I haven’t played anything in over a week because my new hobby is keeping me occupied. That said, if I do play anything it will be Final Fantasy Pixel Remastered Collection (or, primarily FFVI) on the Nintendo Switch, or Dead Island 2 on the Series X. I’ve put two hours into the latter and it’s been fun so far.
I have also been continuing my journey of collecting and reading graphic novels and comics. So far, I have read:
Batman: Year One // The Dark Knight Returns // Batman: The Long Halloween (one of the greatest pieces of fiction I’ve ever read) // Batman: Dark Victory // TMNT: The Last Ronin
Comics I’ve read this week include:
Wasp #1 // Bloodlines Daughter of Blade #1-3 // Clear #1-2 // Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy #1 (2023) // Superman Dawn of DC #1-3 // The Seasons Have Teeth #1 // TerrorWar #1 - and the reason I have that in bold is because it’s quite possibly my new favorite comic, and I’m patiently waiting for the second issue. It features an fun and fantastic premise, and I’m intrigued to see how it turns out because I think it has the potential to be real special.
I'm just carrying on in outriders and kids want to play some Minecraft or Minecraft Legends so I'll be messing about in those with them as well
Mainly Burning Shores DLC. God I love this game. Looks and feels fantastic, like the story and characters too!
Series X - Kaze and the Wild Masks & Yooka - Laylee and the Impossible Lair. I've been on a platformer binge lately and these are currently cheap on sale.
PS5 - Tormented Souls which is a survival horror game inspired by Resident Evil and Silent HIll.
The last of us 2 😃
But on PS4 🥲
Unfortunately nothing on Xbox.
I’m playing Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp and Breath of the Wild on Switch though.
@BlackMayge Happy Birthday! hope you have a great day
Shenmue 1. Hoping I don't lock myself in a way I can't finish it.
Disney Dreamlight Valley and King of Fighters 15.
I bought Far Cry 6 last weekend, and so far it's been decent. It still suffers from that classic Ubisoft syndrome of having a bloated open world, one-dimensional characters, and a generic story. Hope I get my money's worth haha!
Might even play a bit of Hogwarts Legacy to hunt more achievements. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! 😊
On holiday with only 3ds here so Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, New Super Mario Bros 2, Mario Kart DS and GTA Chinatown Wars
I've been playing destroy all humans 2 on PS5 atm. If I finish that I'll plqy re4 remake on series x
As usual im continuing my playthrough with midnight suns.
I wanted to buy dead island 2 but the price here in Canada is unbelievably expensive . $96 + tax for standard edition. No game is worth that much money.
I'll wait for a price drop
I finished the Horizon: Forbidden West - Burning Shores DLC yesterday, and really enjoyed it. I loved the new area and characters, and the graphics were some of the best I've seen on a console.
Today I'm going to try and finish Forgive Me Father, and I'm on the second to last level. These last few have been absolutely brutal, but overall it's a great game.
Not sure what I'm going to play next before Jedi: Survivor. Something short. Maybe Hi-Fi Rush.
Still playing Inscryption, what a rollercoaster of a game! And I hated card games but now I want to try as many as I can.
Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster (Switch) I have a quest to finally finish this game as it is one that I have never finished. Currently just got Rosa and about to tackle Mount Fabul.
@fabisputza007 you’re wrong.
Elden Ring is worth that money
Dead Island 2, Hogwarts Legacy and a bit of Coffee Talk on Gamepass
@Amigator Slay The Spire is the number one choice. Monster Train is fairly popular and then there’s Pirate Outlaws too which are all on Xbox.
Wildfrost just came out if you have steam or switch.
Post-Slay the Spire the scene really exploded.
@fabisputza007 $100CA is like £58? Not too bad for a brand new game if you really like it.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Still hate sliding down the water using tilt controls lol
Jetpack Joyride (Windows Phone) - Coming back to unlock all costumes and jetpacks.
Ps5 Dead Island 2 Horizon Burning Shores Dredge
Series X Minecraft Legends
PC Remnant from The Ashes DLC
@ParsnipHero Thank you, I will try them. I've also bought a bundle of card games on Steam, I'll try those too.
Edit: Just bought Slay the Spire on Xbox 😁
I'm playing Hokko Life on my Series X..
This week and probably the next month, I am totally focused on playing through Cheech and Chong's Smokin' and Pokin' fatties. I think this one may be the next GOTY.
About to sit down to play some Fallout 3. Maybe also play some Ghost of Tsushima tomorrow or later tonight.
Finally beat RE4 just now! I preordered the game and finished my playthrough at just under 12 hours. Jeez, I need more gaming time. It certainly was fantastic though. Jumped right over Hogwarts for the top spot on my “Best Games of 2023” list.
Next up, Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories or… to celebrate Coffee Talk 2 coming to Gamepass, I’ll finally go back to the first one. I’ve got three games to beat before Redfall launches. I’ve got this! I can surely squeeze like 14 hours of gaming into 10 days, right?
…Even if it took almost two months to hit 12 hours in a nearly perfect game…
Dead Island 2 on my Series X. It’s just zombie smashin’ fun!
Finished Ghostwire Tokyo yesterday with I liked quite a bit and I am now back to Kingdom hearts 2 after a few weeks of pause
On Xbox, High on Life which is amazing. Surprised to see the 4/10 score on here honestly.
Picked up Dying Light: The Following on Fri for £9 having never looked at the series before. Looks and plays great on SXS and the parkour is such a cool mechanic that it kind of makes the whole experience more 'realistic'. Currently trying to make the Korek machete so I can unleash hell.
Megaman Battle Network Collection on Steam Deck
