There's been a lot of talk about the lack of Xbox Series X stock in some regions recently, and we've highlighted the issues surrounding it in the UK, but you can still pick one up via the Microsoft Store - including in refurbished form.
And actually, you can get a discount on a refurbished Xbox Series X right now! If you head over to the Microsoft Store and add the promo code "UKMARCONSOLE40", it'll bring the price down from £419.99 to £379.99.
Please note that some external links on this page are affiliate links, which means if you click them and make a purchase we may receive a small percentage of the sale. Please read our FTC Disclosure for more information.
The big catch with this is that you're going to have to be quick - we've spotted the code quite late, and it turns out that it actually expires on Friday, March 21st. In other words, you've probably got less than 24 hours to take advantage!
Of course, we're hoping the stock situation improves in the UK and beyond over the coming months, and there are bound to be more sales in the future, but at the moment your options are pretty limited. This seems like a decent one.
Oh, and if you're interested in picking up a controller too, another promo code will give you 23% off certain controllers on the Microsoft Store - simply add "EMARCONTROLLER23", and you should see the discount in your basket.
Would you recommend picking up a refurbished Xbox Series X? Tell us in the poll and comments.

Not a bad price at all but I personally wouldn't with next gen on the horizon. I'd go with the S for much cheaper, but that's just me.
Wow, it’s about the only bloody way you can buy one in the UK.
Or CEX if you want second hand they have plenty.
@OldGamer999 There are hundreds on ebay too, FB marketplace and others. If you REALLY want one, they are out there, but not ideal for most retail to be in and out of stock. Though Amazon has stock (only 5 left)
They really rolled the boat out on this didn't they must of broken their hearts to give that discount!
I'd say the fact the prices of all this gens consoles haven't gone down at all since launch is a big reason the sales are drying up every other generation before this one the prices would of dropped a decent amount this far into the generation!

Was trying to get someone a new one like go to the shop and pick it up.
I know I’m frustrated with it, but it’s really a bad show.
£380 for refurb. In a sale.
Sony are doing 430 with Astro bot for new.
I wish MS would let consumers know what the stock issue is all about.
Has @purexbox tried contacting Microsoft ?
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I've even seen a couple of stores selling the PS5 Astro Bundle for under £400 with a code. My inbox has been full of PS5 deals these last couple of weeks, yet you can barely even find any Xbox's.
£380 refurb is a decent price if you are only comparing against the price of a new one, but when compared against the PS5 bundle, there's no contest. Who's going to buy an Xbox if those are your options?
You will be able to pick up the one I sold then
Pretty damning that it’s far easier to buy a refurbished/second-hand console than a new one - for a 4.5 year old device, whereas the competition has no trouble at all keeping their (much higher demanded) product in stock. Something really off is going on at Microsoft logistics.
@Cakefish I am more and more convinced they are slowing production. If they go PC in 2 years they dont need to sell xbox consoles anymore.
In fact, so many things happened that points at the fact that MS is not trying to sell you console and average user is fine with this.
As soon as they figure out OS/layer on windows that is fully operational with a controller, thats it for traditional console.
I might be wrong but literally everything points at it.
The only solid argument is that GP count is like 80% on consoles but do they really care if they are selling games elsewhere for full price? and GP will be more popular on PC anyways and eventually cloud
Or just look on Facebook marketplace I got a pre owned one that looks basically new with everything included and 2 games for £310!
I bought a referb Xbox X a few weeks ago for £379 from Microsoft. Looked brand new and even had a brand new controller
@themightyant
Yay finally Smyths toys have some series x for home delivery, disc edition.
My pal is gonna to get one of them and join game pass Ultimate.
If it was not for me checking stock a couple of times a day in major stores it wouldn’t have happened for her or Xbox.
I want some commission now from Xbox 🤣
@Cakefish
I’m not sure what Xbox are up to with consoles.
But if they know and if they are not making a next generation home console like the series x the dam buggers should come out and say so.
I think they are being very mysterious about it, even though they have sort of mentioned they are in not so many words.
I really don’t trust them, and just look at their actions with games and now console stock issues.
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
