Re: Kill It With Fire On Xbox Game Pass Is Perfect For Achievement Hunters

MaccaMUFC

@101Force As someone who has over 530K Gamerscore, I feel I get more out of a game when going for certain achievements, as you may well know yourself. You can sometimes discover something in a game by going for a certain achievement that you would otherwise of missed if you didn’t go looking and they can sometimes make you play in a unique way.

When I reached 500K I thought to myself that I’m just going to play games without going out of my way to unlock certain achievements, well I just can’t seem to stop myself lol I’m just glad I’m not a completionist as they are a completely different kettle of fish, I wouldn’t like my life taken over feeling like I need to 100% every single game I play.

Re: New Screenshots Of GTA Trilogy Remaster Revealed Via Xbox Store

MaccaMUFC

@themightyant I wasn’t expecting a full remake as I consider those to be built from the ground up but there are a lot of remasters out there that only bump up the resolution and that’s it. This Definitive Edition goes beyond that and makes many changes that improves the game in many ways, that to me is more than just a simple remaster which is why I said I consider it to be more than just that.

It’s the same with Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered, to me that’s more closer to a remake than just a remaster.

Re: New Screenshots Of GTA Trilogy Remaster Revealed Via Xbox Store

MaccaMUFC

@InterceptorAlpha There are many games out there that are remastered but a lot of them simply just have a lick of paint over their originals. There’s been many changes with improvements to this new GTA trilogy and I’ll list what themightyant has already listed such as, improved textures, character and vehicle models, weather, foliage, surfaces and draw distances, as well as updated controls and targeting and also updated sound effects. So there’s much more than just better lighting.

You claim there is a PC version that looks similar, care to provide a link to prove it?

Re: New Screenshots Of GTA Trilogy Remaster Revealed Via Xbox Store

MaccaMUFC

@InterceptorAlpha Please show me the PC version that looks just like this Definitive Edition. I’ve just did a quick search and the best PC version I found just looks a lot similar to the PS2 version. This new Definitive Edition is a massive improvement in every way as @themightyant listed. In my eyes this trilogy is more than just a remaster, it’s a remake to me.

Re: 343 Industries Outlines Halo Infinite's Battle Pass Plans

MaccaMUFC

@k3lt0n I think the Battle Pass will be like Fortnite’s, where you pay for each new Battle Pass that expires at the end of each season but unlike Fortnite, you can keep earning all in-game cosmetic rewards after the Battle Pass expires. Unless your planning to play nothing but the multiplayer and unlock everything the Battle Pass offers, I don’t think it’s worth it if the multiplayer is something your only going to come back to now and again. That’s what I’ll be doing just playing the multiplayer from time to time as I plan to play the campaign as well as other games.

@UltimateOtaku91 I think jimmy10nis means to say the multiplayer is free to play. To add, the full game is also on Game Pass day one at no extra cost if you already have GP. It’s just the Battle Pass that costs extra if you want the exclusive cosmetics.

Re: GTA: San Andreas Is Now Available To Pre-Install With Xbox Game Pass

MaccaMUFC

A great addition to Game Pass but I was always going to buy the trilogy even if III and Vice City was also coming to GP as you just know it’ll be on the service for no more than 3 months going by past Rockstar games.

I’m pre-ordering the trilogy tomorrow and using my Microsoft Rewards points, £15 worth, towards it so I’ll be paying £40 for it which is a great price for what we’re getting IMO.

Re: Games With Mouse & Keyboard Support On Xbox One, Series X, Series S

MaccaMUFC

As we are now able to stream games from Nvidia GeForce Now through the Edge browser, surely that increases the list massively for mouse and keyboard support? I’m considering subscribing to Nvidia GeForce Now but is it hit and miss when streaming from the Edge browser on the Series X? I do have excellent internet connection/speed.

Re: Philips Reveals Two New 'Designed For Xbox Series X' Monitors

MaccaMUFC

@Nexozi What about Philips TVs? Specifically the Mini LED 9636? I know you’ve got an LG OLED tv but OLED is out of the question for me. I was going to go for the Samsung 95A but it doesn’t have Dolby Vision but the Philips 9636 does, as well as everything else. The only other option with Mini LED is the LG Nano 996 (the 916 4K model doesn’t do 120Hz) but that has an IPS panel so that’s a nope straight away.

Re: Philips Reveals Two New 'Designed For Xbox Series X' Monitors

MaccaMUFC

These are good if your after a monitor and don’t mind the smaller size compared to TVs. Personally I’m going for the 65” 9636. It’s got everything for the Series X. I was going to go for the Samsung Neo 95A but I’m sick of them never implementing Dolby Vision after omitting them for years with every new model. I’m intrigued by the 4 sided Amiblight which many say is really great.

Re: Forza Horizon 5 Is A 'Phenomenal Experience' On Xbox Series X, Says Digital Foundry

MaccaMUFC

I’ll definitely be playing it in Quality Mode while exploring and smashing the boards. I’ll then change to performance mode when I’m doing the actual racing. If I just wanted to play every game in 60-120fps then I’d of just got the Series S instead of the X. I’m happy most games running 1440p at 60fps on the Series X but I will choose Quality Mode in other games if it runs well.

Re: Brace Yourself, The GTA Trilogy Remaster Could Be Pretty Expensive

MaccaMUFC

I know I’ll be in the minority here but I’ll be pre-ordering the Series X version as soon as it’s available on the Microsoft Store. These are the best GTA games in the series imo, so I’ll gladly pay £70 to have them on my Series X with achievements, regardless of what the remaster entails. I’d only buy this trilogy and a Max Payne trilogy at that price, I’d never pay that much for any other game from their generation.

Re: Battlefield 2042's Beta Has Begun For Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Members

MaccaMUFC

I played this for a couple of hours this morning but I honestly didn’t really like it at all. I’ve always preferred Battlefield over any other online FPS and I’ve bought every Battlefield day one since Bad Company but this will be the first time that I don’t. This could be due to me really enjoying the new tactical FPS in Hell Let Loose and Insurgency Sandstorm. BF 2042 just feels like CoD in comparison and seems chaotic and messy to play.

Re: WW2 Shooter Hell Let Loose Now Has A 10-Hour Free Trial On Xbox

MaccaMUFC

@Tasuki I have to agree with @Originut here. It’s no different to Xbox getting Back 4 Blood day one on Game Pass. Just for this instance, look at PS Plus as Sony’s version of Game Pass. We don’t even know how long Hell Let Loose is going to be on PS Plus, it could be months or a year but I doubt it will be indefinitely.

After playing about 3 hours worth of the 10 hour trial, I’m definitely keeping my pre-order, it is absolutely brilliant imo. Everything about it is so realistic. Coming from Enlisted, this is a massive improvement in every possible way but you definitely need patience for trekking from the HQ to the front line, with most of the time just to get killed and having to do it again but that’s MilSim for you. Either you love it or hate it, I absolutely love it.

Re: WW2 Shooter Hell Let Loose Now Has A 10-Hour Free Trial On Xbox

MaccaMUFC

I’ve been wishing for this game to come to Xbox since it released on PC. I pre-ordered it the other day so I’m definitely giving this 10 hour trial a go right now.

It is disappointing that PS5 owners get it for free with PS Plus while us on Xbox will have to pay for it but it is what it is. Game Pass have been getting 3rd party games day one while PS players have had to pay full price if they wanted it. Swings and roundabouts.

Re: Dolby Vision For Gaming Is Now Available On Xbox Series X|S

MaccaMUFC

@Dezzy70 I’m not looking to get one until around March/April. I’ve just been looking at other miniLED TVs other than Samsung and came across the LG QNED but they have the IPS panel so they are a no go. The other is a Philips 9636 which has the VA panel so I’m happy about that as well as it having everything, Dolby Vision, VRR, 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, Bowers and Wilkins with Dolby Atmos. Is there any reason not to go for the Philips 9636 over the Samsung QN95A?

Re: Insurgency: Sandstorm Makes Its Debut On Xbox, Available Now

MaccaMUFC

I played a few hours of this earlier and I thought it was a good game but it does look quite rough like an early Xbox One game and I was playing it on my Series X which the game is optimised for. Aside from the low quality graphics, the gameplay is really good with guns feeling as powerful as they would be in real-life. There’s no absorbing bullets here, it only takes one shot to kill an enemy depending where you shoot them, otherwise it’ll take no more than 3 bullets to put them down.

I paid for the £34.99 standard edition and despite me liking the game I thought it wasn’t worth the price, so I requested a refund through Microsoft Store and received confirmation soon after that I’ve been refunded. I’ll definitely buy it again when it’s at least half price in a sale.

@Fiendish-Beaver While it’s designed with online play in mind, you can definitely play on your own with AI squad mates although there’s no campaign as such but rather certain modes similar to the online modes like capture A, blow up B, defend C etc. The AI are surprisingly decent too, not completely useless like in a lot of games.

@PhhhCough Your spot on with your examples. You simply cannot play this game in the same way as CoD (unless you play Hardcore Search and Destroy) and Halo, it only takes one bullet to kill you and depending on what modes your playing you may sometimes have to wait until your team have captured and secured an objective before you can respawn.

Re: Dolby Vision For Gaming Is Now Available On Xbox Series X|S

MaccaMUFC

@Originut You mean micro LED, yeah they will be very expensive once they do release. Despite me wanting a 65” I’d even settle for a 55” again if micro led came out in next year’s range but I seriously doubt it will until at least another few years. I just wished Samsung would stop being so stubborn over not implementing Dolby Vision by favouring HDR10 instead, it’s already a standard in modern TVs. Plus they were late to implement proper full HDMI 2.1 ports until this year’s range. If it wasn’t for them having the best LEDs TVs out there I’d of switched to a different TV manufacturer.

Re: Dolby Vision For Gaming Is Now Available On Xbox Series X|S

MaccaMUFC

@Originut @Dezzy70 OLED is a no go for me, it would be used in the living room for everything by the family and myself, constantly getting paused for too long, not being careful what’s on the screen like the ticker tape on certain channels etc and that’s if I’m in the house to baby it, imagine when I’m not in all day at work. Also the fact it gets used for hours on end everyday, the tv’s lifespan would be really limited. If I was getting it just for myself for the Series X and Netflix then I wouldn’t hesitate to get an OLED but because of reasons I’ve mentioned, burn-in and the TV probably not even lasting past 2 or 3 years, OLED is out of the question.

The new high end Samsung QLEDs are not far off from OLEDs these days thanks to the mini-LEDs with brilliant blacks (I know they are still not as good as OLEDs but they’ve come along way since older LCDs) and the fact they can go much brighter and make images pop in HDR, the high end Samsung QLED are the best non-OLED TVs out there, it’s the next best thing to OLEDs until micro-LEDs come along.

Re: These 30+ Games Are Coming To Xbox This Week (September 28 - October 1)

MaccaMUFC

@FraserG Ah I understand thanks for letting me know. I just thought it was strange not having any recent news on all three games from both sites like hands-on impressions, how they would be running on Series X/S, what the maps, weapons and classes were like etc. I wouldn’t of expected a review anytime soon from Insurgency: Sandstorm or Hell Let Loose as I know they are online only games, I just expected a little more information on them seeing how close they are releasing.

Re: These 30+ Games Are Coming To Xbox This Week (September 28 - October 1)

MaccaMUFC

@FraserG With Chernobylite released today, Insurgency: Sandstorm tomorrow and Hell Let Loose next Tuesday, are you guys going to be covering these games at all? There has been no recent news on these games for awhile. I’ve mentioned this on Pushsquare too as I frequent both that site and this one. It would be great to have your take on these games and more in-depth information about them.

Re: Hurricane Ida Is Looking Suitably Scary In Microsoft Flight Simulator

MaccaMUFC

Jesus! I dropped right into the middle of the storm from the world map while in mid-flight, I was flying blind with only the lightning giving me a 2 second glimpse of my plane and the landscape before spiralling out of control and crashing into a field. For a real challenge, turn on true to life by going to assistance options and try flying through that storm.

Re: It's Happening, Halo Infinite Is Getting A Limited Edition Xbox Series X

MaccaMUFC

@Dezzy70 That’s good of you. CEX are no better than scalpers tbh, the person selling the Series X is getting a good deal from them getting £480 cash but then they will sell it for £650! I only paid £500 in January for my Series X off a scalper and I don’t regret it given how hard and expensive is it to get a hold of one to this day.

Re: It's Happening, Halo Infinite Is Getting A Limited Edition Xbox Series X

MaccaMUFC

It looks gorgeous, if I didn’t already have the regular Series X I’d try and pre-order it but as we already know even the standard Series X is still like gold dust almost a year later.

It’s now out of stock on Microsoft Store UK.

@Dezzy70 It’s completely up to you how much you sell your standard Series X for but given how hard it still is to get a hold of one I’d put it up for around £400 despite it being second-hand.

Re: Bad News, Call Of Duty: Vanguard's August Alpha Won't Be On Xbox

MaccaMUFC

Doesn’t bother me at all, I’ll only rent it for the campaign anyway. Battlefield 2042 now that’s a game I’m looking more forward to, future setting with modern weapons and vehicles, 128 players on one map. CoD seems to be taking a step back going back to WW2 and offering nothing over BF 2042 aside from campaign and zombies but as we all know it’s the MP that really matters.

Re: Halo Infinite Won't Include Co-Op Or Forge At Launch This Fall

MaccaMUFC

They are bringing the two most important modes that the majority fans will want and that’s campaign and MP. I do agree with others though that co-op and forge should of been added on release considering how long 343i have had with the game along with the one year delay but thankfully I’m in the majority who only cares more for the campaign and MP.

I also agree that the Halo franchise should be handed to another studio, 343i are not doing what’s expected of Halo it deserves to be better than the way 343i have handled it.
