Xbox hit us with the exciting news yesterday that Marvel's Avengers is joining Xbox Game Pass this Thursday, September 30, but you'll need to be prepared for its pretty huge file size of up to 110GB on Xbox.
Fortunately, there's an unofficial way of pre-installing the game ahead of time, and it involves using the official Xbox app on Android and iOS. Simply load it up, search for the game, and then hit the 'Download to Console' button.
When doing this, you should get the appropriate version for your console (Xbox One, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S) as Marvel's Avengers supports Smart Delivery. The next-gen version is understandably the largest in terms of file size.
If you'd prefer, Marvel's Avengers will also be available with Xbox Game Pass for PC on Thursday, and a cloud version will be available too, so you can skip the download and play via the cloud on PC, Android and iOS if you want to.
Will you be diving into Marvel's Avengers with Xbox Game Pass this Thursday? Let us know down below.

Just a warning - the achievements are still broken in the campaign. I started this last year and came back to it recently and a recent patch (I think with the Wakanda expansion) had broken them again. Bit of a bummer if you care about that stuff. Some have said playing it on a base Xbox One or One S (Not X or Series), then it may work. Something to do with the 4K-ness of it all.
Thanks for the pre-install tip Fraser, I’m currently downloading this 139.5 GB bad boy and it’s only going to take 45 minutes to finish with it downloading at over 400 Mbps. My sons will be more thankful of this tip seeing as their Xbox’s are running off WiFi.
Can this be played over cloud? As my series s doesn't have much space and this game eats space like it was nothing
I was holding off on buying it, and not because I was waiting for game pass. I was waiting for Spiderman to play on my PS4. But now it's like...
$25 for all content + Spidey, but at 30fps and long load times
or
Free* for everything except Spidey, but at 60fps and them fast loading times
🤔🤔🤔 sorry Spidey, gotta go with Series X and Game Pass
I've heard that despite the overall problems with the game, the campaign is pretty good, so I'll definitely give it a try.
@UltimateOtaku91 It's confirmed to be coming to the cloud as well. So my guess would be yes.
@Tarps I was in the same boat and I think Microsoft have been very very smart about the timing of this
As I’ve got PS5 too I might still wait a bit and see him low Avengers is by that point as I do like Spidey
Yeah no. I deleted the necessary amount of storage to accommodate and the app still tells me I don’t have enough
@Dusk_Actual I had that issue earlier, what you need to do is close down the app and get it back up and you should be able to download it.
I’ll give it a whirl. Thanks!
I played it on PS4 a while back, and the campaign was much, much better than I'd been led to believe. In 60fps it'll be worth a revisit for me.
The endgame was awful back then, but there've been loads of free content drops since - including Wakanda, which I'm 100% going to play tomorrow!
Can't wait to smash things with Lord Farquad
110Gb!? Well maybe this'll be a good chance to give Cloud gaming on PC a fair shake
