@gollumb82 Stalker 2 should be fine since it’s not a game that requires a constant internet connection.
I’m pleased the download size is a lot smaller this time round despite me having a 1TB SeaGate SSD card with my Series X. Although I do expect it to increase with free world updates like we saw in MFS 2020 which almost doubled in download size if all the updates were downloaded.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the game is graphically when out exploring on the ground, surely not every location on Earth will have the same detail? I’m expecting certain landmarks to be very detailed but else where to be very flat and bland.
I’m like the majority here who’s a fan of the game. I hear people saying it’s boring, it’s just a walking simulator etc but imo there’s nothing else out there like it, it’s so unique in its own way and I absolutely love it. I only just got past the first chapter but I’m looking forward to continuing my journey through the game after playing other upcoming games like MFS 2024 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, also got Black Ops 6 campaign to finish.
@GotRedOnMe73 I played the game for several hours last night on graphics mode and honestly it runs so smooth, it targets 60fps as opposed to locked 60fps on performance mode but I never noticed any dips in frames. I do have a tv that has VRR so don’t know if that has helped or not.
Now that Death Stranding has been ported to Series X/S, DS2 it’s now a matter of “when” not “if” when it comes to an Xbox release. They’ll certainly be some timed PS5 exclusivity deal between KJP and Sony so I won’t be expecting DS2 on Xbox for at least a year if not more.
I’ve noticed quite a drop in my friends list since this update, some who have been on my list for almost a decade. What an inconvenience and pointless update for me.
@jesse_dylan Ok I think we’ve established your one of those people who expect everything for nothing and that every game should be added into Game Pass or your not interested.
Regardless of KJP’s intentions of offering 50% off it’s still considered pro-consumer when they could have easily just released it at full price at £34.99. You say you’ve got plenty of other games to play so enjoy those while we enjoy this one 👍🏻
@jesse_dylan But it didn’t release 10 years ago, it came out 5 years ago on Nov 8th 2019 so your over exaggerating how old it is. KJP didn’t have to offer the 50% off for 2 weeks but they did and most of us are grateful for that offer.
@GADG3Tx87 “They only leave Xbox out because they have the least audience”
Xbox may have the least audience compared to PlayStation and Nintendo but it’s still in the many millions, there’s still money to be made by releasing games on Xbox.
I played a bit of this on the PS5 through PS Plus Extra and I enjoyed what little I did play. I remember the environments being absolutely gorgeous and I had some fun navigating the terrain making some deliveries while trying to avoid the “Beached things” otherwise known as BTs.
I stopped playing due to other PS5 exclusives I wanted to play and finish and Death Stranding isn’t a game you can just power through in a weekend. I’m buying this for my Series X to give it a proper play through this time and I’m chuffed this is on my primary console with achievements too! £17.49 is a definitely a steal so I’ll be using some of my reward points towards this then will spend the rest when The Thing Remastered is released.
@OldGamer999 As much as I agree with you about the way Microsoft are treating us Xbox players (I’ve been with Xbox since the original too) some of us have built up a massive library of games and friends list that we can’t just simply leave behind and start anew with PlayStation. Ngl if PlayStation was my main console I’d be buying the PS5 Pro but like I said having built up a digital library of games since the Xbox 360 and the fact Game Pass is saving me a fortune by playing day one games on the service, it’s just not as simply to just leave the Xbox ecosystem and starting all over on PlayStation after all these years.
Yes! I absolutely loved this on the OG Xbox back in 2002. I’m really looking forward to this remaster, there isn’t a game out there like it with it’s unique fear/trust system where you don’t know if an NPC is a human or an alien impersonating as one. It definitely keeps you on your toes and makes you constantly watch your back around them.
@RetroMan71 I find the Arctis headsets sound too quiet and flat so I’d never buy another one again.
I still have my original Xbox Wireless headset from day one and it’s still in excellent condition and still sounds as good as when I first used it. Battery is a non issue as I usually always have the charger plugged in, same as my controller since I always sit close to the Xbox and TV. I’ll buy this new version in future if needed.
I’ll just be getting Shadow Man Remastered, it’s one of those games from my childhood back in 1999.
I’m interested in Choo-Choo Charles but I’ve heard it only takes about 40 minutes to complete and that it’s more suited for Game Pass if it ever joins the service.
@Oppyz666 I doubt it does as it says in the article, it’s a 4 player online co-op game. It’s a shame really as I really liked the look of it but having no solo campaign kills it for me.
@BowsersBuddy I bought it day one and loved every minute playing it. You can take on levels and do objectives how ever you like or just simply have fun with the destruction physics and completely flatten everything in the level. At £12.49 you really can’t go wrong, a lot of fun to be had at that price.
@Stoned_Patrol It’s a 60 minute trial but I only played one game and that was enough for me to quit and uninstall, I just didn’t think it was for me. Too many other better shooters out there imo.
I’m currently playing through the very first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and I’m really enjoying it. I was waiting for the Series X/S patch before buying it but wanted to play it before S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 releases. I’ll get Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat once the Series X/S patch is out for them. I’m so glad GSC Game World have brought the whole franchise over to console.
Got to be in it to win it. But I shall only be using the free entry to participate. I’ve got over 23K points but I’d rather use that towards buying a game rather than spending it all on something I will mostly likely have less than 1% chance of winning.
This is getting too many mixed reviews, both from critics and players, to just drop £30 on it. I’ll wait until it’s 50% off in a sale then I’ll buy it.
There’s quite a bit of negativity here from those who haven’t even played the game but I pre-ordered it and loved every minute of it despite already owning the Xbox One version. It’s definitely received more than just a new lick of paint, everything has been changed for the better and is running on the RE engine so you can’t say it’s not much better than the Xbox One version because the difference is night and day. Plus the QoL has made the game much more enjoyable to play. The only criticism I can say is the loading screens, I don’t see why they couldn’t of just made it seamless but the load screens don’t even last 5 seconds.
The question is, is it worth £30? I think that is quite expensive for a DLC and I’d expect it to be at ‘Blood and Wine’ level, both in scale and quality. If I decide not to bother I’ll just buy Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged instead, an actual full game that costs less than the Shattered Space add-on.
I’ve completed the game and done everything like side missions etc so I will want to play this dlc at some point but at £29.99 for one location and a new storyline that will probably only take a few hours to finish, I’m not sure I’d want to pay that much for it. I’ll wait and see how it fares when it releases and may just wait for it to be on sale.
@GuyinPA75 In the case of Dead Rising there’s no right or wrong way to play it. You could always just focus on the story and ignore certain survivors/quests and you wouldn’t have to worry about the timer.
When I play it I’ll be mainly focusing on the story as well as saving as many survivors as possible but when I feel like just messing around in the mall I’ll just make a manual save before I do then go back to load the save when I want to pick up where I left off with the story.
I’m still very much looking forward to playing this on Thursday. I paid £25 for it after using £15 of reward points towards the pre-order (for some reason though I got the £10 worth of points refunded but still only had to pay £25, bonus!) so I think I’m going to be happy with the game at that value.
I own the Xbox One version but haven’t actually finished the game before, not even the 360 version, it’s the QoL improvements as well as visuals and frame rate that made me want to buy the game again for the third time.
As for the timer, it has always been an integral part of the game as it added that extra dread to prioritise certain tasks and survivors but I do think a sandbox mode would of been a nice welcome and it’s a bit disappointing that there’s still loading between areas.
@Assassin166 I saw the highlight after I finished work, a real beauty it was. Rooney is 38 and out of shape but he has shown he has still got it and he’s even better than any of the current Man Utd players.
Fun fact, Rooney’s free kick was Man Utd’s first goal from that type of set piece in two years.
So really all the PS5 Pro is offering over the Series X is to play games in fidelity mode at 60fps? That as well as an extra 1TB for £700, that’s the long and the short of it.
While the idea of not having to choose between fidelity or performance mode is great, it’s just not worth paying that much for the privilege. Let’s be honest, most people won’t be paying the full £699.99 as they will be trading in or selling their current PS5s.
Also it seems only a number of games are going to be optimised for the PS5 Pro, first party games goes without saying but there was literally only a few third party games that were demonstrated. GTA VI will very likely be optimised for PS5 Pro.
@GeeForce The disadvantage of Xbox releasing a next-gen console before PS6 is that Sony will know the Xbox’s specifications and can then improve on it, claiming the PS6 to be the most powerful console in the world. Not that the title has helped the Series X in any way but still would be Sony’s claim.
I’m curious to know how much Rockstar paid other artists for their songs on GTA V. I bet Rihanna was paid a tidy sum as she was very popular at the time of GTA V’s release. But it would be interesting to see how the $7,500 offer compares to other low offers made to artists who agreed for their songs to be added into GTA V.
I understand Rockstar will likely have a budget when it comes to licensing music from various artists but I doubt Tom Petty’s family accepted $7,500 for Love is a Long Road.
From that long list of games it is just Dead Rising Deluxe Remake for me (I refuse to acknowledge it as a remaster). I may also pick up Worms Armageddon depending on price.
Overall I thought the whole thing was rubbish. I thought the presenters were annoying, cringey and their voices just got on my nerves. I get why they did the interviews with the devs so they delved deeper into their games, going in depth about them etc but it was just too much chin wagging and I was honestly just bored.
I only watched some of the opening night and just quickly went through the three days of the show skipping through the majority of it. How is Gamescom any different to E3? It looked like a similar set up but on a smaller scale.
Like someone has said over on Pushsquare, if it’s the same versions as PS4 and Xbox 360 then why would it need to be re-rated?
I’m wanting R* to give RDR2 a 60fps patch but I can see them doing that after GTA VI has release but by then the majority of people will just be staying on GTA VI at that point.
Only 1080p/60? Wow and to think I was considering pre-ordering this at one point lol I’ll still rent it but will probably never buy it ever unless they make it at least 4K/30 and 1440p/60 in a future patch.
This being added to Game Pass makes no difference to me since I bought the Trilogy bundle for just £8 in a recent Just for You deal. This is a great addition to the service for those who don’t own game or would like to play through the game again.
When making comparisons to other games in the same genre I’d say Mafia is more akin to L.A Noire, albeit without the crime scenes and interrogations/interviews, rather than GTA.
Nothing there for me but I was hoping The Thing Remastered would release on the same day in as the original was released on the 20th August 2002. Otherwise it’s just Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster to look forward to in September.
@Elbow I believe every single Xbox 360 game that wasn’t BC should have all been at least 50% off. Only reason I can see why MS didn’t discount their own first party games was them banking on people who really wanted them would pay the full price before they were gone forever but I think they would of sold a lot more if discounted though. I didn’t want anything as I’ve had my fill with the 360 many years ago and also I haven’t owned a 360 since the Xbox One launched.
Just had a quick look at the 360 store and it really has gone, with a select few non-BC 360 games still showing on the current store but saying it’s unavailable to purchase. It’s an end of an era but what a good run it had.
@MALEBRIGNON At $29.99 GTA Trilogy is a decent price imo. You are getting three legendary games that would keep you busy for quite some time if you complete them all 100%. I bought it day one and have no regrets, I also liked what Grove Street Games did with it giving it a more modern cleaner look. I must be in the minority but I thought it looked a lot better than the originals which haven’t aged well.
There’s only one thing I’m tempted to get and it is the Mafia Trilogy for £8 in a Just for You deal. Problem is I’ve already finished Mafia remake and Mafia 3 when I rented the trilogy on release and I already own Mafia 2 (Xbox 360) which is BC.
Edit: I’ve just bought Mafia Trilogy. At £8 it’s a proper bargain when you get all the dlc with 2 and 3 which I’ve never owned/played and also that 2 is a slight upgrade over the 360 version and of course the remake which is the best of the bunch. This will be my only purchase in this summer sale, that is if you count the Just for You deals as part of that sale.
@Retrokingdan Same, I’ve been getting my GPU from CD Keys for years and never paid more than £9 but we’ll have to assume we’re going to have to pay a little bit more now.
Lol at those who are being negative towards the price increase, it’s only an extra £2 a month that is nothing these days. We’re going to be getting a ton of Activision games added to the service and it doesn’t matter if you don’t care for them as the choice will still be there and it will add even more value to the service.
I’ve said it before that I mainly subscribe so I can play online, for those of you who say your going to stop subscribing, how are you going to play games online unless you only play solo?
@OldGamer999 Don't worry Sarah Bond has already confirmed that they currently working on a new Xbox console saying it’s going to be the biggest technological leap ever. You’ll probably already know this from the recent Xbox Showcase so we don’t need to worry about Xbox hardware for a long time yet.
Sadly for me I’ve not got this Just for You deal otherwise I’d of definitely bought it at £8. Seems like there’s quite a lot of us getting the same lengthy deals with Borderlands and several Ubisoft titles.
I’ve been really enjoying my time with The First Descendant so I’ll be playing that this weekend then I need to get back to playing Hypercharge: Unboxed which I’ve barely touched since buying.
Thanks for the reminder and on what steps to take to claim the free 3 months. I thought I had lost out when it wasn’t appearing in the perks section. I actually got the 3 months trial despite already having an account and using a free trial from when I first signed up.
It does look like a really decent remaster, especially the environments and lighting but I honestly think the original still holds up well and since I already have the original I’ll just wait for this when it’s in a sale.
I got my code yesterday and redeemed it, I’ll definitely go back to FH4 one day long after it has been delisted. I want to buy the FH5 premium add-ons bundle but not at it’s current £20 sale price, I’d like it to be lower to at least £15.

Re: Heaven 17 Musician Insulted By 'Pathetic' Offer From Rockstar Games For GTA 6
Re: All New Xbox Games Coming Out In September 2024
From that long list of games it is just Dead Rising Deluxe Remake for me (I refuse to acknowledge it as a remaster). I may also pick up Worms Armageddon depending on price.
Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of Gamescom 2024 Overall?
Overall I thought the whole thing was rubbish. I thought the presenters were annoying, cringey and their voices just got on my nerves. I get why they did the interviews with the devs so they delved deeper into their games, going in depth about them etc but it was just too much chin wagging and I was honestly just bored.
I only watched some of the opening night and just quickly went through the three days of the show skipping through the majority of it. How is Gamescom any different to E3? It looked like a similar set up but on a smaller scale.
Re: Rockstar's 'Bully' Hits The Headlines Over Possible Xbox Remaster, But Don't Get Your Hopes Up
Like someone has said over on Pushsquare, if it’s the same versions as PS4 and Xbox 360 then why would it need to be re-rated?
I’m wanting R* to give RDR2 a 60fps patch but I can see them doing that after GTA VI has release but by then the majority of people will just be staying on GTA VI at that point.
Re: Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Dev Reveals Tech Specs For Xbox Series X|S
Only 1080p/60? Wow and to think I was considering pre-ordering this at one point lol I’ll still rent it but will probably never buy it ever unless they make it at least 4K/30 and 1440p/60 in a future patch.
Re: Soapbox: If You Like GTA, You've Got To Try Mafia: Definitive Edition On Xbox Game Pass
Re: All New Xbox Games Coming Out In August 2024
Nothing there for me but I was hoping The Thing Remastered would release on the same day in as the original was released on the 20th August 2002. Otherwise it’s just Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster to look forward to in September.
Re: PSA: Today Is The Final Day For Microsoft's Xbox 360 Marketplace
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Buying In The Xbox Summer Sale This Year?
Re: Xbox Game Pass Gets Price Increases And New 'Standard' Subscription Tier
Re: Xbox Gaming Now Officially Available On Amazon Fire TV Stick
@OldGamer999 Don't worry Sarah Bond has already confirmed that they currently working on a new Xbox console saying it’s going to be the biggest technological leap ever. You’ll probably already know this from the recent Xbox Showcase so we don’t need to worry about Xbox hardware for a long time yet.
Re: Xbox's New 'Just For You' Offers Include Super-Cheap Mafia Trilogy Deal
Sadly for me I’ve not got this Just for You deal otherwise I’d of definitely bought it at £8. Seems like there’s quite a lot of us getting the same lengthy deals with Borderlands and several Ubisoft titles.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 6-7)
I’ve been really enjoying my time with The First Descendant so I’ll be playing that this weekend then I need to get back to playing Hypercharge: Unboxed which I’ve barely touched since buying.
Re: Apple TV+ Is Giving Away 3 Free Months To Xbox Users Right Now
Thanks for the reminder and on what steps to take to claim the free 3 months. I thought I had lost out when it wasn’t appearing in the perks section. I actually got the 3 months trial despite already having an account and using a free trial from when I first signed up.
Re: 'Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster' Launches This September For Xbox Series X|S
It does look like a really decent remaster, especially the environments and lighting but I honestly think the original still holds up well and since I already have the original I’ll just wait for this when it’s in a sale.
Re: Xbox Is Giving Away Free Forza Horizon 4 Codes For Eligible Players
I got my code yesterday and redeemed it, I’ll definitely go back to FH4 one day long after it has been delisted. I want to buy the FH5 premium add-ons bundle but not at it’s current £20 sale price, I’d like it to be lower to at least £15.
