Re: Review: Redfall - Arkane's Undead Experiment Brings Mixed Results To Xbox Game Pass

Chaudy

@Sol4ris not saying I'm a master of anyone's opinion. It's freedom of speech. Say whatever you or I want. This is just an observation based on the player outcry.

The issue isn't just limited to Redfall having bugs or performance problems. It's more to do with bad game design. If it was limited to just bugs and performance then it wouldn't have been this bad, Jedi survivor launched with plenty of performance issues but still got great reviews and is doing well with players.

Redfall on the other hand has bad game design, the quests are bad, the story presentation is bad, the AI is bad, the combat doesn't feel good, these issues are beyond performance. If Xbox first party triple A games come out this bad then naturally the brand will be associated with bad quality games going forward. That's because first party triple A games have high expectations and are often on most anctipated game lists. It's a quality issue with Xbox.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Players Are 'Heading For New Zealand' To Play Redfall Early

Chaudy

If all these rumours about Redfall turn out to be true then this will be one of the worst few last weeks the Xbox brand has ever seen.

In the space of just a few weeks they've had a major acquisition blocked. Which could result in them paying $3 billion to Activision without gaining anything.

They would have a huge triple A title, (their first since Halo Infinite in 2021) be critically panned.

They've reported a slump in sales of hardware and decreased revenue.

Their big new game pass indie game (last case of benedict fox) is not sitting well with majority of the players.

Re: Cloud Gaming Platform Calls Out Decision To Block Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal

Chaudy

Doesn't matter what some cloud gaming service has to say. Fact is this deal isn't going through. Its blocked in the US, its now blocked in UK and in a few days it'll be blocked in the EU. There's no way Microsoft will be battling all 3 in court.

The sensible thing to do now, is to invest in their existing portfolio of studios. Let's not forget that they have 23 studios which is the most any console manufacturer has had in history. Yet the output has been poor, they launched a console with no new first party games and then had problems with Halo a year later. Last year they didn't have anything except that side scroller low budget game made by Obsidian. They've delayed Starfield twice and still haven't given Motorsport a release date despite promising it would be out by June 2023.

Maybe fix the internal studios first and then think about acquisitions. As for this deal, it's definitely dead.

Re: Talking Point: Where Does Xbox Go Next If ActiBlizz Deal Falls Through?

Chaudy

A couple of days ago most of you were convinced that the deal is in the bag. Goes to show none of you have any idea as to what you're even talking about.

Even now the comments are mostly ridiculous. "They should buy Sega", "they should get cod Exclusivity". "They should partner with Activision on Game pass".

None of us know what they are planning to do in the future. It's very unlikely that this deal has any sort of bright future for Xbox. This could have negative implications for the Xbox brand or it could be turned into a positive where Xbox decide to focus on what they have at home and stop the ridiculous shopping spree.

Only time will tell, one thing is for sure, it's a trillion dollar company trying to make even more money, they are not in a school playground where they will decide to take revenge on Sony by getting some sort of cod exclusivity.

Re: Microsoft Will Appeal UK Decision To Block Activision Blizzard Purchase

Chaudy

I suspect the EU will follow the UK's decision and if that does happen then surely US will block the acquisition as well.

This decision has taken months and months of deliberation and its unlikely it'll be overturned. I think eventually the deal is just going to die. Microsoft may end up battling UK, US and EU in court which will not be worth it. This is probably the start of the end as far as this acquisition is concerned.

Re: Jim Ryan Fears 'Serious Damage' If Xbox Degrades Call Of Duty For PlayStation

Chaudy

I don't support any corporation as all they care about is money and are essentially the definition of greed.

Microsoft will eventually make millions jobless as they continue to invest millions in artificial intelligence which will eventually replace many jobs. But as far as the Gaming space is concerned. What good is going to come out of crying about it? Sony just needs to up their game now. This deal would only hurt Sony, If in the future CoD is made exclusive, otherwise I don't see much of impact on Playstation.

Re: PokƩmon-Like 'Cassette Beasts' Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass With Multiple Dates

Chaudy

Of course it's possible to create pokemon clone but there is a huge problem.

Pokemon has been around for a very long time so the actual Pokemon like Pikachu have become so iconic and part of childhood for many people. It has that special nostalgic and emotional connection. That's something no dev team can replicate. This and the product diversity of pokemon, the cards, merchandise, anime etc is what makes It so successful
