Re: Xbox Series X Controller Losing Connection? Microsoft Is On The Case

xMightyMatt14x

@StonyKL to clarify. @carlos82 and @Medic_Alert are correct. You just basically have to turn the volume down on the tv. But what I do is put voice chat to come out of both, and then when my kids are asleep, I just turn the volume down on the tv and still hear everything in my headset. However the setting allows you to just do party chat on your headset. This is pretty standard though from what I understand. It was this way on my old PlayStation as well.

Re: Microsoft's GM Of Cloud Gaming Says Console Exclusive Games 'Aren't The Answer'

xMightyMatt14x

@Tharsman this is a true statement. I think people are reading into this like everything is going to PlayStation. When I’m fact, Spencer (or someone up high in MS I can’t remember) recently said something like “we don’t need PlayStation to sell our games”. I can’t remember the exact quote but it was something along those lines.

There will be games that are exclusive to gamepass and the Xbox ecosystem. Teaching ally this means console, PC, and mobile. It doesn’t mean everything is going to PlayStation and/or Nintendo consoles as well.

Re: EU To Decide On Microsoft's Acquisition Of ZeniMax Media By March

xMightyMatt14x

I had never really gotten into Bethesda games in the past (tried Fallout 3 and Oblivion on 360 and they were very fun but as a completionist with limited time available in my college years I was too intimidated to continue with them). However as I’ve become a fan of Microsoft I decided to check out some games since the announcement of the acquisition. I bought Wolfenstein The New Order, and I absolutely loved it! I also have the Old Blood and will play it soon. I did try Doom Eternal, but that one didn’t click. However I’m considering going back and trying Skyrim or Fallout 4 (would be my first time with either). Which one should I do?

I’m also super excited by the announcement for Indiana Jones (actually, oddly enough; the most exciting announcement by a Zenimax studio ever for me). So I’m excited by the future! Gamepass all day!

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition News Might Be On The Way This Week

xMightyMatt14x

@Lajt lol I got you. Yeah the combat in Mass Effect is a shooter for sure. But 80% of what you do is conversation and decision making. It makes for a deep, rich story. Mass Effect 2 definitely shifts towards modern combat mechanics. But all 3 maintain the story drive and decision making in conversation that made the first one great.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition News Might Be On The Way This Week

xMightyMatt14x

@Javman197 @Lajt that’s a tough predicament. I also envy you guys. I know graphically it might be starting to show its age, but the story experience of the Mass Effect trilogy is one of the best in gaming history. I’d love to be experiencing it for the first time again and be in your shoes.

It might be worth it to wait until a few months from now to get the best graphical fidelity. And when it comes, enjoy it! Still one of my most treasured experiences in my lifetime of gaming.

Re: Random: Xbox Users Struggling To 'Quit' Games Due To Menu Update

xMightyMatt14x

@Tasuki @bobobiwan totally agree with you guys. I think the problem with the internet is that it magnifies and makes permanent the minority complaints and views. Things people say that used to be in person would get rejected and corrected instantly by the rational people surrounding them. Now peoples complaints; extreme views, etc. have a place of permanence from which everyone else is just distant enough to react, promote, and strengthen the voice of that individual, regardless of whether they agree or disagree. Then what used to be a rare point that was usually disputed upon arrival gets a large audience and it’s own fixation. (Apply this to anything...complaints like this... politics... etc.)

Re: After Less Than A Year, Ninja Theory Is Moving On From Bleeding Edge

xMightyMatt14x

@GamingFan4Lyf going along with what @crazyjf said... when you play a game for the first time, it automatically includes you in that player base, even if you just try it out for a few minutes then uninstall, or if you play with a friend on their system under your own gamer tag. This means that the “player base” for these games can be extremely high but the percentage of that base getting achievements is thereby more rare. As for Gears 5 DLC, since it is dlc, every person who played Gears 5 is included in that percentage, many of which haven’t played it in a while (I personally still have yet to play hive busters for instance, even though I’ve played Gears 5).

Re: There's Reportedly A New Knights Of The Old Republic In The Works

xMightyMatt14x

I’d love to play Kotor 3 (one that actually finishes the story from the first 2). But I’d rather have played it if it were made in like 2008-9. I feel like a new kotor made today is going to end up disappointing for a bevy of possible reasons (new writers/teams, changes to the Star Wars lore brought on by Disney which are more often bad than good, etc.). I also feel like a reboot will change enough to bug me in the same way the Spider-Man reboots keep bugging me (the new ones are “fine” and enjoyable, but the Spider-Man series I’m still attached to is the original movie series).

I know it’s only me personally so it doesn’t matter. But the only way I would enjoy this in 2021- beyond is if it’s a true sequel done in the spirit of the originals (and with a story that finishes that thread) in the way that Crash 4 kept to the spirit and story of the original trilogy.

Re: UK Boxed Charts: Hitman 3 Debuts At Top Spot, But Only 27% Sold For Xbox

xMightyMatt14x

@StonyKL sadly where I’m at in the US we don’t have GAME :/ I kept trying Best Buy GameStop and walmsrt and none of them were doing waiting lists. Like I said though I finally got one at GameStop but it won’t ship for a bit.

That’s a great point though about the effect of gamepass. I could see sales being less because of people primarily playing gamepass games (and waiting on bigger third parties to be on it before they try). I’m one of those. The only way I would try Hitman personally is if it was on gamepass, as its not something that is a “must buy” for me.

It’ll definitely be interesting to see how things play out.

Re: UK Boxed Charts: Hitman 3 Debuts At Top Spot, But Only 27% Sold For Xbox

xMightyMatt14x

This makes sense for a couple reasons though. The UK tends to be PlayStation heavy from what I can tell, and it also seems like there are more ps5s that have gotten into real consumers hands than there have been series x’s across the board. I have several friends who say the Sony waiting list thing worked well for them while I still hadn’t found even a waiting list or anything I could do for the series x as of this last week (miraculously got a series x ordered from GameStop with all access over the weekend, after months of checking sites when I had free time, but still have to wait a while for it to ship).

Re: Random: This Indiana Jones Xbox Series X Belongs In A Museum

xMightyMatt14x

@MaccaMUFC I’m actually betting it will be multiplat (although I think it would be an awesome exclusive) based on the fact that Lucasfilm Games is involved and will want the sales. But o hope it’s a mix between Uncharted and a Tomb Raider. Something that has a great expansive story that unfolds over several locations with great characters (like Uncharted) with more thought out puzzles and exploration zones (like Tomb Raider).

The most important thing it needs to have is Indiana Jones style unique combat. He’s not much of a shooter so they should have more of a brawling system where he can use his whip and the environment, among other tools, when in combat.

Re: Talking Point: What Type Of Star Wars Games Do You Want On Xbox Series X?

xMightyMatt14x

@Darthroseman I actually had Old Republic back in 09 for like 3 months. It definitely had some solid story telling for an MMO but just was way too long. I got to level 30 with a soldier and just got distracted. I just wish there was a true solo kotor 3 with a 40 hour story that can be finished in a couple weeks.

I can’t say my experience with the old republic was bad though. Just long.

Re: Talking Point: What Type Of Star Wars Games Do You Want On Xbox Series X?

xMightyMatt14x

@Kefka2589 agreed! But it’s been so long I’m nervous if the story would end up being a letdown compared to what it might have been.

@pip_muzz totally agree. Anything but the sequel trilogy! In my mind the movie series still ends with ROTJ (Mandalorian is the true continuum)

My dream games would be KoTOR 3 (done well and in the spirit of the first two with solid effort from a top notch team), a sequel to Republic Commando (one of the most underrated Star Wars games), a Mandalorian game done in the vein of the original Star Wars Bounty Hunter (where you played as Jango), and honestly, I think it would be very cool to do a true to form movie experience. What I mean is where you play through the movie stories in at least the original trilogy (similar to how they did Lord of the Rings Two Towers and ROTK back in the day). I think we have so much stuff “in the universe” that it’d be cool to experience the original main story again in a new, refreshing way (Lego games are top notch but I mean a REAL story experience).

Re: CD Projekt Red Admits Being 'Too Focused' Getting Cyberpunk 2077 Out The Door

xMightyMatt14x

@LiterallyDoNotCare oddly enough the part that actually excited me about the Halo Infinite reveal was the gameplay (including gunplay). It felt more like the original Halo. Halo was always a slower moving game and that style I just prefer. I played Doom Eternal and couldn’t finish it. It just wasn’t my thing. But I also never got into Call of Duty (last one I was was Call of Duty 2 on 360). Right when shooters became twitch based I kinda left the FPS genre. I’m really excited that the gameplay looks like the pace of the original and the art style got me pumped. It’s the technical stuff I think they need to make sure is right.

Re: EA Agrees $1.2 Billion Deal To Acquire Codemasters

xMightyMatt14x

@tobsesta99 to be fair. It’s the free market that even brought us video game innovation in the first place. It’s pretty much a guarantee that video games would’ve never seen existence under any economic system with government control over goods and services. They’re a luxury, and those systems tend to prioritize consumer needs (above wants) in a poorly managed way.
