Might as well buy Borderlands 3, even though I probably won't play it much (bought dying light 4 years ago, played it for a bit, quit then didn't touch it until this year. Bad habit). I just want it to complete my digital collection (not counting that story Borderlands game).
I am tempted to get avengers is it any good?
Not much for me as already have AVC and Crash 4.
I’m guessing Control on game pass is not the series x upgrade addition and not sure what series x upgrades the definite editions brings.
I have looked on my Xbox and can't find this sale?
I bought two Sonic games and I guess it may be time to get some of the Final Fantasy games, at least some of the main ones.
@Snake_V5 It's literally just gone live - the trackers picked up the deals about an hour-or-so ago.
You probably won't see it being advertised on console for the next few hours / until tomorrow.
@FraserG have you played the avenger game is it terrible? The reviews are either it's great or it's terrible I'm on the fence the deluxe version is so cheap
Can anyone help me with this?:
I played Control on Game Pass and LOVED it. If I buy the Ultimate Edition, will my save carry over so I can finish the side quests and play the DLC when the Series X patch/upgrade comes out?
Cannot find an answer online - reached out to the company, but no response there either.
@Dezzy70 Correct, Control on Game Pass is just the regular Xbox One release. You would have to get the Ultimate Edition to get the next gen version/upgrade whenever it releases next year.
What isn’t on sale lol. Thinking of getting for honor for the 3rd time! Had it on my PS4 but want it for my series S. Tempted by Avengers as well but still don’t know if it’s worth £30 yet, might wait till it’s proper cheap as all service games eventually do. Don’t really need any more games with game pass really but this is just tempting me haha.
@VisitingComet1 I haven't played it enough to give a proper opinion, sorry!
Here's our review of it from earlier this year (by @PJOReilly):

Just a note for those asking about Control: While Ultimate is available, the patch isn't in effect until sometime next year.
Edit:

Resident Evil 3 at 20 dollars is tempting..
@VisitingComet1 there was some talk recently that Avengers might be coming to gamepass soon? Not sure if it's true but it does make sense as they need numbers online and it totally bombed. Your money, your choice but I'd personally hold off a bit still. I'll definitelybe playing this if in gamepass, if not then likely never.
@VisitingComet1 I bought it when it was also 30 bucks and am enjoying the single player campaign. If you like the comics or the movies, you will have fun with the story. I have not tried the multiplayer yet but for 30 bucks, the game is worth it now.
Bold move of Ubisoft to drop Immortals by 33% two weeks after launch
@Krzzystuff thanks for the info game pass is such a great value
@kingv84 good to know I was interested but was not willing to pay 70 dollars for it
@Krzzystuff
Thanks for posting this i am gonna hold off on Avengers then.
@BigP
Do you know what isn't? The Falconeer. Again. Same games, same prices as the Black Friday sale. Lame.
Gonna buy The Falconeer at full price then, just to support the creator.
HAHA. AC Valhalla went down to £39.99 on Amazon yesterday. Digital STILL overpriced!
@FraserG January 3rd is a Sunday and the length of the sale is 17 days according to xbox.com.
@Captain_Chao5 Digital is not overpriced, Amazon is underpriced.
@Grumblevolcano Thanks! Not sure what happened with the dates there. The store was suggesting it was until the 3rd last night, but it looks like it's the 4th.
@JoakimZ Huh? I'll assume that was sarcasm.
Some good games sure but nothing that I either don't already own, isn't on Gamepass or wasn't really bothered about in the first place. I've got plenty of retro games to keep me entertained until the likes of The Medium come out
Oh, WRC 9 is 50% off. Will pick that up, since dirt 5 was so disappointing.
@carlos82 Same here. Game Pass is such a good offer, sales don't really tempt me anymore.
Tempted by Immortals. 40% off the base game or 20% off the deluxe version is quite a saving so soon after launch. Has anyone played it and do you recommend it?
Picked up Pillars of Eternity and Tales of Vesperia on the Windows Store in the sale.
@ChopperCampbell I'd recommend it! It's one of my favourite games of 2020. @PJOReilly's review was very complementary as well
https://www.purexbox.com/reviews/xbox-series-x/immortals_fenyx_rising
@FraserG Good enough for me! Downloading it just now.
@ChopperCampbell Hope you enjoy
Is COD cold war still causing problems on the series x? Anyone know
Yeah... not buying a single one of 'em. Between the Switch and the ol' Xbox One S, I've already bought WAY more games than I had planned on buying, so I gotta reign myself in here, otherwise I'll be spending money that I actually need for far more important things than a hobby...
I had a lot of my priority games already but went ahead and picked up the wolfenstein two-pack. I’ve never tried the series but I’ve heard good things so I’m gonna start from the beginning of ID softwares recent run.
Nothing for me. I have Cyberpunk to tie me over for a while, plus I am expecting to get a good amount of games for Christmas this year. I think I am good on games.
Just need to secure a Series X and PS5 sometime soon. Hopefully the insane rush for systems dies out in the next couple of months.
Though, I really do expect console production to magically increase by 200% after the holidays and consoles are suddenly widely available by the end of January.
It’s hard to resist some of these I own on other platforms (switch/steam), just to play on my shiny new Xbox. Thought I have to remind myself that some of these 360 games don’t look great at 720p on a 65” TV. And the PC versions run at higher resolutions. But no HDR and a pain to play on the big screen. Oye.
