The Gunk is one that’s gotten surprisingly little attention since it’s announcement, but it’s one I’m really interested in. I loved Steamworld dig.
Why are they calling Yakuza 3-6 exclusives? They are already on PS4 and should be playable through BC on PS5.
Unless Microsoft is hinting at something here... nah I'm not going to read too much into it, lol.
Tunic looks great and even runs on my average laptop so def. interested in that one. Mild interest in a few others but pass on most of those. Though it certainly seems like they're getting a nice stable of exclusives finally, 2021 shaping up to be a good year for Xbox!
It's gonna be a really good year for Xbox..
The Gunk and The Medium are definitely on my radar and Tunic >.<
@Kefka2589 yeah same the Little Witch in the Woods looks cute.
Scorn looks extremely gnarly. I don't want to spend too much time in that world but I definitely want to experience it!
@LtSarge Microsoft are who started the word exclusive getting used incorrectly and thrown around and dilluted to call non exclusive multiplats, "exclusive" so it's only fitting they continue to misuse it in 2021 and this gen.
I'm tired. When speed-read the headline I read "XBox Highlights 360 console exclusive arriving in 2021"
I was like, DAMN!
I'll be playing a lot of these most likely. Gunk and Ascent 100% and exomecha looks pretty crazy.
@LtSarge "Why are they calling Yakuza 3-6 exclusives? They are already on PS4 and should be playable through BC on PS5."
Maybe they will be Series X optimized, but there wont be a PS5 optimized release?
@Tharsman Why would they optimise 3-6 when 0-2 haven't been optimised yet? Also, looking at the tweet that the developers made, it only says "Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam".

There's no mention of anything Series X related and if there was, why haven't Microsoft themselves written anything about it?
Went to sub to pure xbox youtube but no uploads in 4 years??
song of iron looks neat I might actually give that a try. Was hoping for a fable stealth announcement but nope.
@Zim2539 Not too familiar with the history, but this website practically died with the failure of the XBox One. It was revived in the buildup to Series X launch, but I'm sure its still in the early stages of growth (or re-growth) and making regular video content takes a budget.
Some great games to look forward to. I just feel that people need to enjoy great games whatever and wherever they are. I now have a series X, Switch and Stadia and i need one more. I have access to a superb array of games.
Probably just Halo Infinite for me.
Though game pass allows me to try others.
Would be good to have a least one or two massive hitters like Halo in there.
One massive AAA is not enough for a whole year.
I remember when we used to get three a year.
@LtSarge "Why would they optimise 3-6 when 0-2 haven't been optimised yet?"
I was just spit balling, but a good reason would be they were already working on the port. Its not the same to go back to a project and optimize it, than it is to simply optimize the port you are working on right now.
Even from an accounting point of view, you need to justify revisiting the old project [I'm sure MS would be happy to give them a justification] but this, they had on their hands.
But who knows, maybe we just get a direct port locked at 1080p.
This has to be worst year of exclusives I've seen. At least since 2013. Smash bros overshadows all of this in 2019. Not to say small games can't be good, but this isn't attractive for the masses. Series is selling worse than xbox1 according to the npd and we know the gap gets bigger. Those bethesda and xgs games should start using turbo.
Hopefully xbox have more exclusives coming this year than this, 90% of this list are indies and halo is coming late 2021?
Apart from the medium there's not much in terms of AAA games.
Hopefully they upgrade their cloud servers to series X software soon so I can play the medium on my phone
@Tharsman @LtSarge
If you read the article this list is based on they call it out themselves saying they are not exclusives
"These ones aren’t technically exclusive, but it’s the first time these games are coming to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass, so we’re pretty excited. "
@UltimateOtaku91
I agree. Apart from Halo and the Medium nothing here screams Must play! Thankfully, Game Pass will keep me occupied all year.
They become more interrsting when you take gamepass into account. So, I end up trying most of them.
@Terrin They edited the article and added that sentence because it wasn't there before. I've already double-checked this with other people on Twitter who pointed out the same thing I did.

As a side note, please don't write stuff like "if you read the article". It's condescending. I know how to read articles, if that sentence had been there from the first place then I wouldn't have written my first comment to begin with.
Evidently the original article has been updated to suggest the Yakuza games aren't exclusive - it definitely wasn't like that originally! I've added a quick note to the listing above.
@Zim2539 @Tharsman Rebooting the YouTube channel is in our eventual plans, but not just yet! Watch this space...
Halo Infinite, Tunic, Adios, Warhammer 40K Darktide and The Artful Escape are the games I'll likely end up liking. Hope to see them all appear on Xbox One too.
Darn, no Avowed. 2022 please!
Quite a few I’m looking forward to trying there. Looks like a very promising year.
@FraserG looking forward to it!
Are they actually launch titles if they're released several months after the system? I thought a launch title was games that released on the same day. In my opinion the new generation of Xbox was released with no games and still to this day have only a small amount of games that’s “exclusive”
@WesEds Not a single one, right? The Medium will be the first one if I'm correct.
@WesEds I agree. I was really hoping for a physical version of the Medium alongside launch or at least by it's original December release date.
Game Pass will certainly help the 2021 situation. There are really only 3 games on this list that I would have actually purchased, but there are a handful more that I will definitely try as part of my monthly subscription.
