@Lup I do understand tho. I’m constantly lost in games, particularly FPS, and always have been… And then in games with a minimap I just stare at the map and don’t even see the game. I do like the compass system many games use tho.

@Caveman49 maybe that’s the problem. You need to try it for yourself instead of just watching…

As for this game, the combat hinges around quick time events, sort of, to make attacks connect and enhance damage. Sea of stars and super mario rpg do something similar.

@Lup oblivion doesn’t have a minimap either. Minimaps really take a person out of the experience. But so can getting lost!

Most games without minimaps are designed around the lack thereof. Minimaps lead to lazy design.

@Caveman49 you should try some turn based games instead of having an “instant no”. You’re missing out. Nothing should be an instant no if it’s a good game.

They should have given this game more room to breathe. I hope it still does well, sandwiched between avowed at a decent distance and oblivion just days before.

@BacklogBrad yep. I really like it, one of my favorite games of all time, and I’ve been desperate for this for years. But you’re right. Not that I mind that it’s getting a ton of positive press. The success of this, avowed, and hopefully Clair obscur, can only be a good thing.

@themightyant yeah I don’t get why they released it so close to Clair obscur, especially with many people (me!) just barely finishing avowed (which I really enjoyed).

It definitely doesn’t feel like a new game to me. Not that I mind.

@AndroidBango well it was a shadow drop since they announced nothing about it until now. Leaks don’t really count.

@Fishysensei I’m surprised people are dismayed by the price. $50 seems pretty sensible to me. Way more work was put into this than they’d recoup selling it for $20.

Anyway when Nintendo is charging $80 for Mario kart and most new games are $70, $50 isn’t full price…

@xboxjapanfan that’s too bad about the delay. I’m just finishing up avowed, and I loved it! I’d recommend playing through it fast at least if you don’t have time to do all the side quests.

Archery feels kinda weird and floaty. I don’t quite get it yet.

I haven’t gotten one. But I have lots of Microsoft points, have $10 credit in my account already, and purchase things fairly regularly. That might exempt me from the likely pool

I don’t get why they’d release a big rpg right on the back of Clair obscur, not to mention avowed came out two months ago.

Why not June as a show drop with their big show? Or even next year for its 20th anniversary?

So when a game goes to standard, does that renew the 12 month counter? Or can it still leave 12 months from when it first entered ultimate, even if it’s now on standard?

That’s so weird. They’re obviously still coming out on switch and ps…? I’ve never played them.

Forget banjo. Make a star control game. I can’t believe all the IPs Microsoft is sitting on. Toys for Bob made incredible games in the 80s and 90s. Star control 2 was amazing.

But I’m not sure the original founders are there anymore.

Seems like the days of sega/Atlus games launching on game pass are done, but hopefully they’ll still be on Xbox at least.

Hard to be excited when I have no idea what to expect. I bet outer worlds 2 will be good tho, at least as good as the first one and avowed.

@Kaloudz according to my notes, I played it 35 hours on switch and 10 on pc. I had figured I’d actually played it more!

The DLC just had a totally different vibe and a really bad translation. But it’s also possible I just felt done and didn’t give it enough of a go.

@Kaloudz preaching to the choir here. I played moonlighter when it first came out, and was a Kickstarter backer for it! I didn’t like the dlc as much, but I really enjoyed the main game a lot. Hoping the magic can be repeated for the sequel! I liked the first so much that I’m worried lightning can’t strike twice for me.

Not the same thing, but I played it almost as obsessively as I played loop hero.

All three of the game pass ones really seem interesting and promising.

Does the group complete the game within the month? Or within a month after release?

I’m more excited about blue prince on the 10th. April has a lot of stuff! Which is why it would be weird to release oblivion this month, if it exists.

I’m excited, if it’s real and if they didn’t mess it up! It would be easy to ruin.

April is also a weird month to release it. We just got avowed, and Clair obscur also comes out in April. Why wouldn’t they wait til June or something?

@DalamarX quite true. The switch 2 has been a pretty big disappointment to me so far! And my expectations weren’t very high! 😆

@DalamarX I agree and I'd be quite happy with that. People are pretty happy with Steam decks and whatever else. Steam itself was once upon a time going to make a Steam Box, which wouldn't have been as full-featured as something that will run Windows. Hopefully the architecture will be fairly open, such as Microsoft's own Surface tablets, which are way more open than something like an iPad.
