Xbox Games Showcase 2025 & Outer Worlds 2 Direct Announced For June

The last few June showcases have been awesome, so I'm hoping they can deliver another great one.

So we don't know anything about it yet?
Could the rumored Oblivion remake be revealed here (if true)?

I still need to play the first The Outer Worlds! It was one of the first Game Pass titles I tried when I got my console but there was so much to choose from that I never finished it.

I'm so glad they're doing a special presentation for The Outer Worlds 2.

And I hope we get some big surprises from the showcase!

The brand may be in disarray but they always deliver consistently very good shows.

That weekend is going to be crazy with the Switch 2 launch followed by what would be E3.

@IOI and with MS largely absent from the Switch 2 reveal I'm assuming they are saving their launch window titles for this showcase.

Im guessing (as others have mentioned) that this is where switch 2 ports will be shown

Ah, not E3 is gonna be fun. As others have said, we'll probably see some Switch 2 ports of Xbox games.

I might actually watch The Outer Worlds 2 presentation but will skip showcase as usual, obviously.

@elpardo1984 I don’t think they would announce ports for other consoles in their own showcase, more likely the new games they announce will also be revealed for all platforms day and date, Spencer did say that we better get used to seeing the PS5 logo in Xbox trailers and announcements.

Xbox show's are the best in the industry, looking forward to seeing what's cooking for gamepass.

Its a first big showcase after full change of strategy. All projects need to state clearly if coming to other platforms day 1 or not.
Probably fewer exclusives if any.

I personally really hope for Gears 2-3 remasters.

Damn, no in person event. I got to go to last years and was hoping to go again this year.

@IOI I could see if a game is getting new content that they use that to announce a port. So like for example "Starfield 2nd expansion launching on [insert date], complete edition launching for PC/Series X|S/PS5/Switch 2 on the same day".

Not to "slam" Outer Worlds but it's kinda weird to me it's getting a post Not-E3 showcase, that's usually reserved for their big tentpole release of the year.

This will be the biggest gaming event in the PlayStation calendar this year. It will be the showcase that sees Microsoft fully-embrace its third-party status by announcing games that come to other platforms. We will see the Nintendo logo and the PlayStation logo on games.

Whilst I understand that some super-loyal Xbox owners may be upset by the console losing its exclusives, a good way to look at it is that there will now be millions more people who will get to play and share the fun of the games you love..

We might even get to see a Gears or Halo remaster announcement.

Xbox is on fire right now, no matter how some may try to spin it, and this June should be another huge showing for the company.

I'm going to have to stop playing Mario Kart World for a bit to watch this.

I expect the Asus Xbox handheld to be revealed and released this year, not the Xbox handheld that is rumoured for 2027 along the next-gen Xbox.

Regarding games, what I'd love to see presented anywhere is Project Zero/Fatal Frame trilogy remastered after getting 5 and 4 on all consoles. Regarding Xbox Studios, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie remakes are topping my lists.

Wonder how much is actually going to be shown this year. Yes, last years was really good, but those games are either being released before this years showcase, or are already far out in 2026 or later even.

As much that was already shown last year i dont really see it being that big this year. At least nowhere close to the level it was previously. They showed alot, which means they are still working on alot. I doubt theres going to be much "new and exciting". Maybe a new wolfenstien teaser since indiana jones has released and probably wrapped up. MAYBE the mythical fallout 3 remake teaser, but i doubt it with bethesda still working on both starfield and fo76, along with the oblivion remake.

Im thinking something CoD and FO76 related, most likely something along the lines of a "new season", maybe some actual real info on contraband, perfect dark and the tony hawk 3+4 remaster, and potentially a new trailer for state of decay 3 even though thats also been delayed to at least 2026.

I certainly hope we see SoD 3 with a 2026 release window. I'm very excited for this showcase. Last few years have been top notch. Xbox really has found an amazing rhythm.

@IOI probably not, maybe something like Doom they might do a low key announcement when bigging up the recent launch.

@TheEstablishment IOI comment was that "brand is dissaray" which is not true. The "xbox console is in disarray" would be true. There is nothing to spin, they are a lot of console problems with marketing against console, fewer and fewer exclusives, poor sales, poor availability of consoles in stores, somn retailers ditching or shrinking xbox games sections, games skipping platform.

Again, not to say xbox consoles are dead or anything but there are too many problems.

Microsoft gaming on another hand will thrive and be successful, probably soon surpassing Sony Entertainment division (that includes PS consoles).

Xbox has consistently had the best games showcase for a few consecutive years now, so I'm looking forward to it. Each year Xbox has only grown massively with first and third party support as well. At this point if they wanted to (and I'd go as far as to say they should), they could host a massive summer convention and do a better job than Summer Games Fest. Pipe dreams aside, the best thing about this for me is it confirms the showcase + [big fall release] direct is here to stay AND it won't just be COD every year (they easily could've done that now that COD is first party and considering how much the yearly release sales).

Your talking about State of Decay 3 right? That´s one of the many that developers have anounced probably way to early.
Kinda like Insomniac´s Wolverine and Avalance´s Contraband.
Maybe it´s time for those games to be re-anounced i guess.
Even so, I´m very curious with this Xbox showcase.
We might see more of Gears of War E-Day, Perfect Dark, Fable, Ninja Gaiden 4 and just like our friend @somnambulance mentioned, hopefully Silksong (fingers crossed for an actual release date). Maybe even a brand new Halo game.
Or a brand new Ip from the many different Studios Microsoft owns as of now.
And I´m quite curious with The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. Really enjoyed the first one. Exciting time as always.

@Moparhippy420 if you don’t include games that haven’t been announced there’s still project Mara from ninja theory, whatever halo studios is working on, the new ip from zenimax online, fh6( which would be a stretch I think), obsidian has other projects they’re working on, the next call of duty and what double fine is working on. If you include revealed games there’s OD, blade, clockwork revolution, and a bunch others. They have a lot of games coming out

Hard to be excited when I have no idea what to expect. I bet outer worlds 2 will be good tho, at least as good as the first one and avowed.

Always great to see another show and what to expect going forwards, and the shows are always enjoyable to watch.
There's plenty of titles previously announced that we need updates on and hopefully we will get some new ones too 😄
I suspect that the branded rog handheld will make a showing, though I still see this as a very niche product.

I completly forgot about Rare´s Everwild....... Maybe they know by now what kind of game it is...... You know, since they didn´t at the time of reveal 😜
If Hallo MCC does release on other systems, I might be getting it for my PS5 to play with my PS friends for sure.
We might even see Gears of War collection on other systems as well. And once again, I´ll be getting a physical copy for PS5.
Hopefully it will be an awesome Xbox Showcase full of games.

@RaZieLDaNtE Announced too early would be putting it very, very nicely haha. Not only was it announced early, but with a stupid trailer that makes zero sense other than to be like "hey, this is a thing". I just want to see gameplay, a new in-engine trailer, anything!! I'm dying for some SoD now.
