Okay, so, this one's blasted onto our radar out of absolutely nowhere! 'The Finals' is an upcoming free-to-play shooter from Swedish developer Embark Studios, who's also hard at work on the promising-looking Arc Raiders. The team is comprised of ex-Battlefield devs among others, and going off this trailer, you can probably tell!
We're not entirely sure about what's going on here — it looks bloody chaotic we tell you — but the visuals look very impressive and if core gameplay can match that, Embark could be onto something special with The Finals.
As the name suggests, the game is framed around a game show of sorts, with players competing in "escalating tournaments" to determine who comes out on top. It looks, and sounds, like Battlefield's signature destruction has made its way over to this new series!
Sure, you can aim and shoot, but contestants that add our carefully curated virtual environments to their arsenal are more likely to advance, so do anything you can imagine in the name of victory! Burn arenas to the ground! Send wrecking balls crashing into your opponents! Don't just pull triggers - pull down buildings!
The game's closed PC alpha begins tomorrow, September 29th, and a console version of the full game has already been announced. We're very intrigued to see where this one ends up!
Does 'The Finals' look like something you'd try out? Let us know in the comments.

Wow, this looks like my kind of game! It’s like a cluster-fudge of so many of my favourites.
Me and the missus will keep a keen eye on this. Now to send this trailer to my daughter, she will love it!
This looks spectacular! Explains the sudden dropoff with Battlefield quality... The destruction is insane and hello GOO gun from Prey! Can't wait to try this
Looks like the perfect game/trailer for the ADHD generation lol but does look interesting. Great visuals and chaotic gameplay could be a lot of fun.
Can't wait to play the single player story mode on this game!!!
They 100% should have used thattrailer instead of the uber quick one that showed nothing at GamesCom opening night live. The showing they had at GamesCom got absolutely no one excited for their game, and no one knew what kind of game it even was. This trailer got me excited from beginning to end... Excellent trailer, and I wish the Beta was available on Xbox haha. But this game is fully on my radar now.
So, HyperScape?
