Re: Halo Infinite Fans Call For Xbox One Version To Be Cancelled Amid Cyberpunk Debacle

SuperKMx

And the neckbeards start screaming because console war nonsense. It doesn't matter. It "CANNOT be held back by outdated hardware"? Pffft. Grow up and get a life.

It's a video game. It isn't life. If it's good, then great. If it isn't, then oh dear. There are only 800,000,000 other videogames out there to play.

Also, understanding how videogame development actually works might be an idea before demanding things of videogame developers. Releasing on Xbox One doesn't hold anything back. Not even remotely.

Cyberpunk sucks on Xbox One because the product is of questionable quality on all platforms. Cyberpunk 2077: Definitive Edition might contain the actual finished game and be worth playing when it launches in 2022.

Re: Scalpers Are At It Again With Expensive Xbox Series X eBay Listings

SuperKMx

@Tasuki Yes, you can blame the scalpers. Other than delaying releases until they've got 10m consoles stockpiled, I'm not sure what you expect Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo to do about it. On their own sites, they only allow one order per customer. They can't control what happens on retailer sites.

eBay and Facebook Marketplace are the ones that need to get busy, especially with preorders. On launch day, one guy bought a Series X at Currys/PCW online, listed it on eBay 10 minutes later for £200 more than retail, and it sold 5 minutes after that. The only picture on the listing was a screenshot of the receipt on his phone. eBay are allowing people to pay £600-£2,000 for items that the seller does not own. You'd think that would be a huge, huge fraud risk that they would like to deal with but...

Re: Amazon's Xbox Series X Pre-Orders Won't Arrive For Everyone On Launch

SuperKMx

Mine was due for delivery on launch day. 4pm yesterday, Amazon changed their mind and said it was delayed until Friday. Complained via live chat and they gave me £100 of Amazon vouchers as compensation. Five minutes later, they threw my Series X at my front door.

Box was a bit crushed, but the console wasn't damaged so...yay, cheap Series X!

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your First Impressions Of The Xbox Series X|S?

SuperKMx

@jarvismp That's strange. I just played Fuser for two hours on my Series X without being connected to any network. I use a wired connection and it was unplugged as I'm in the middle of rewiring the lounge. No wi-fi networks stored on the console, either.

Power button hasn't randomly "gone off" unless pressed. Also installed Rock Band 4 from disc and the drive is silent. None of my friends are mentioning these issues, either.

And Watch Dogs Legion is just a shambles in general. It had current-gen systems overheating last week because it appears to have been optimised by an intern.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With October 2020's Xbox Games With Gold?

SuperKMx

I'll try out Slayaway Camp and Maid of Sker, but can't say I've ever been all that bothered about Games With Gold. I used to just see it as a perk, rather than sitting there desperately waiting for the next month's games to be revealed and getting angry that Big Company X didn't give me Thing Y that I didn't want enough to pay for.

Care about it even less now that GP Ultimate is a thing. It's not like I'm ever short of games to play.

Re: Bethesda's Future Games Could Still Appear On Consoles Other Than Xbox

SuperKMx

Yes, I do.

I can't see a company spending $7.5b on acquiring a company and then deciding to cut off half of that company's income stream.

The only people who would be angry if Bethesda's games came out on PS5 when the company is owned by Microsoft are the mentally-challenged console warriors. Your general PS5 gamer in the street is going to still be charged £60 for the latest Bethesda game on PS5 the same as before, so won't see a difference. The general Xbox gamer is going to get access to the game via their Game Pass subscription, so will be delighted.

They might release a few Xbox exclusives or new franchises here and there, but I can't see Doom, Wolfenstein, The Elder Scrolls or Fallout suddenly becoming exclusive.

Re: Xbox Series S Could Be Outdated Within A Few Years, Alludes PlayStation Boss

SuperKMx

A tad hypocritical from a company who are making the PS4 Pro I bought four years ago into a glorified doorstop because "we believe in generations (when it suits us.)"

It's not like the Xbox Series S doesn't display a picture if you plug it into a 4K TV. It upscales. The vast majority of people who aren't on the bleeding edge and who aren't looking for every pixel and therefore haven't upgraded to a 4K TV at this point will barely even notice the difference between an upscaled image and a native one

Also, as the Series S ages, Microsoft will be able to drop it in price even further, making it a true "entry-level" system. They'll be sub-£200 before you know it. Even the digital PS5 won't be able to touch that price before the end of the generation.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade September's Ubisoft Forward Show?

SuperKMx

Not great. Mainly since it's Ubisoft, and they've basically given up because they know they don't have to try anymore. They can crank out a dozen open-world games with 8,000,000 "missions" that are all identical and people will lap it up.

Riders Republic had me kind of interested, but then I remembered how woefully undercooked Steep and the Winter Olympics DLC was. I imagine it'll be another Trials Rising-style "LOOK YOU LOADED A MENU SO YOU GOT YET ANOTHER LOOTBOX WITH A SHIRT IN IT"-fest.

I'm down for Prince of Persia and Scott Pilgrim, even though I'm having to buy games I've already bought. They'll be better than any of their current slate.

Re: Rumour: Could The Xbox Series X 1TB Expansion Card Be Upwards Of $200?!

SuperKMx

Not massively surprised, to be honest. I was expecting that sort of price for the first run of a modular, proprietary SSD.

I doubt it's going to be a "Vita moment" for Microsoft as others are saying. I can't say I've ever come close to filling my 1TB Xbox One X drive, so I don't really feel like I'm being "forced" to buy extra storage. Especially when OG Xbox, X360, and Xbox One games will run perfectly happily on Series S/X from a bog-standard USB drive.

Re: Did This Monster Energy Halo Infinite Promo Just Reveal The Price Of The Xbox Series X?

SuperKMx

@Nickolaidas I tend to agree with you. There has to be a limit of course, but I've even seen folks saying "£400 is alright, but £450 would rule it out for me" who then go and talk about how many Ultimate Editions they're preordering, and I just don't get it.

A costume and a extra mission in an Assassin's Creed game they'll play for 50 hours is worth an extra £35, but £50 more on a game console that will last for the best part of a decade is somehow crossing the line.

Re: Early FIFA 21 Gameplay Seems To Have Leaked Online

SuperKMx

Interface looks like FIFA 20 with colours. Which looked like FIFA 19 without colours. Which looked like FIFA 18. Which looked like FIFA 17. Which...surprisingly...looked like FIFA 16.

Given the game makes a billion dollars a year, it's a shame they can't come up with an interface that isn't riddled with issues and that doesn't look like it was designed for a 10" tablet in 2006.

Re: The Xbox One X Has Officially Been Discontinued

SuperKMx

@Fath In fairness, nobody "killed off" PureXbox other than me. Was nothing to do with the higher-ups.

I wouldn't stoop to the sort of cross-platform trolling and name-calling that gets people talking, so the site didn't get enough visitors to be worth carrying on with.

Re: Take A Closer Look At The Official Xbox Series X Box Art

SuperKMx

From a design perspective, it's clean, crisp, and communicates well. It doesn't need to be massively different from the Xbox One games on your shelf, because they're trying to get the idea of games playing on both consoles across. Which they do very well.

From a user perspective...I haven't bought a physical current-gen game in at least three years, so I'm not all that bothered.

Re: Roundup: Here's Everything That Was Revealed During Ubisoft Forward

SuperKMx

A few release dates. Technical information we already knew. A derivative battle royale that people thought was tiresome during last week's closed beta (which everybody on the planet managed to get into) is now in slightly more open beta.

Oh, and a mobile port of a middling 2D fighter.

No BG&E2 (again.) No Skull & Bones (again.)

They managed to make EA's show look good, and that was poor.

Ubisoft Forward was utter crap, in short. Classic example of a company not knowing that they are allowed to just shut up and wait until they actually have something to say.
