Following its reveal as part of the Xbox Games Showcase pre-show back in July, 3D action platformer Balan Wonderworld has today been given an official release date of March 26, 2021 for Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X.
The game is being brought to us by the legendary creators Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima who both worked together to create Sonic the Hedgehog back in the 1990s, and is published by Square Enix.
You can check out some new gameplay above (specific to the Nintendo Switch version).
"Twelve different tales await players in the bizarre and imaginary land of Wonderworld. As the star of the show you can use powers from 80 different costumes while exploring labyrinth stages, filled with a myriad of tricks and traps to get to the heart of each story."

Looked interesting in the Nintendo Direct Mini showcase thinger. I'm on board.
Getting it on Switch but regardless where anybody plays it, looks like this is going to be one of 2021's best.
Need more 3d platformers like this, super mario 3d all stars will tie me over until this releases
This is getting a collectors edition too https://store.na.square-enix-games.com/en_US/product/612107/balan-wonderworld-showtime-set-xbox-one-plus-xbx#/product-details-collapse

Q) Are you keeping a keen eye on Balan Wonderworld?
A) Very much so; this was the game that had me most excited in the Xbox Showcase (and it was in the pre-show) and is currently my most anticipated game for next year. It looks fantastic; everything about it's two trailers has me pumped to try it out and platform through it's lush worlds.
I'll most likely be getting this for Xbox Series X, so I guess it currently stands as my most anticipated Xbox Series X game as well (Fable would be higher if gameplay had been shown, but I know it's a bit soon for that).
